Everything went fine except that they should have given me more information.

Great. Very fast even though they seemed very busy it did not take long and picked up the same day.

My daughter had spread diatomaceous earth in a bedroom in an effort to kill bedbugs. When cleaning up this product with my favorite Electrolux vacuum, a problem developed with the vacuum and I was afraid the motor had been ruined. I took the vacuum to the shop and the technician looked at it immediately. He asked what the vacuum was being used for (he guessed it was for some type of extremely fine dust) and then inserted a different type of bag, a "micro filter" bag and the problem was solved. The bags I had been using were genuine Electrolux bags but did not filter enough of this fine dust to keep it from the motor. I was able to purchase a supply of the new type of bag at the shop. I got a lot of good advice and felt very relieved that my vacuum hadn't been destroyed. I definitely would return to this shop. I wasn't charged for the evaluation of the problem.

My vacuum had a bad gasket and they manufactured a new gasket. They keep my vacuum running. The prices are very reasonable.

It did not take long to get the vacuum checked in, I was told I'd get a call with an estimate. I got the call when promised and approved the repair. They cautioned that it would need parts ordered, and with the holidays it may take a little while. I actually heard back after a few days that they were done and I picked up the vacuum(exactly a week after I brought it to them). I am very pleased with the work and with the courtesy and professionalism.

The technician was polite and fixed my vacuum cleaner without making any nasty comments about how dumb I was for taking the entire thing apart. He wasn't very sociable (very quiet) but efficient and competent. He corrected the mistakes I had made without comment and only took 10 or less minutes to do it. He assisted me immediately when I came into the store; I did not have to wait.

Working with Russ was great. We had been looking at new central vacuums for quite a while. Our house had "roughed-in" piping but we had never added a power unit, hoses, etc. Russ explained the +/- of various brands without the high pressure we usually associate with vacuum cleaner sales. He also has multiple brands whereas most of his competition are single brand stores. Once we decided on a model, he assembled all the accessories and even put the socks on the two hoses we purchased; which is a LOT more work than you would think. We installed the unit ourselves, and when I needed a couple feet of the special piping (you can't get this at the big box stores) Russ had it in stock and at a reasonable price. Everything works as he said it would, and we'd not hesitate to recommend A-1 for people looking for an alternative to "the industry leader" in central vacuums.

I was told they would call if it was higher than the initial estimate of $35 because they didn't know exactly what the problem was (my husband tried to fix it buying parts on E-Bay and made it worse!!!!). They called that day and said it would be about $95, and I told them to fix it. It was ready within a couple days and the vacuum works great now!

I called to get a rough estimate of the cost of repair and the person answering the phone was very helpful and checked with a service technician on the cost estimate. When I dropped off the vacuum cleaner they noted on the order form that they would call me if the estimate was over the amount I indicated so that I could decide whether or not to have them complete the repairs. I received a call in a couple days to let me know the repairs were complete and the actual cost, which was within the estimated range. The service was great, the people were pleasant to deal with, and the cost was very reasonable.

The service was fast (estimate within 1 day and fixed within another 3 days), the price was very reasonable, and the people at the store are very friendly. They thanked me for the business. Had I known the company earlier, I would have bought a new vacuum cleaner there and not over the internet.

This is my second experience with A1 and both times I have been very pleased with the work, the price and most importantly, their honesty. I highly recommend them.

THE STORE AND SHOWROOM AREN'T MUCH TO LOOK AT, BUT THEY DEFINITELY KNOW THEIR VACUUMS, PARTICULARLY THE MIELE BRAND. OUR REPRESENTATIVE WAS COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS PROMPT.

I WILL GO TO A-1 WITH ANY QUESTION I MIGHT HAVE ABOUT VACUUMS AND TRUST THAT THEY WILL GIVE ME GOOD ADVICE.
