It was a very small part that needed to be replaced and they estimated a couple of days on the repair. The only issue I had is that I did not get a follow up call when service was completed as they said they would do. I contacted them and it was ready for pick up.

We were charged twice as much as we should have, the part that was needed came in defective and they did not bother to check it over, we were charged for labor and there was no labor involved. When we came in to inform them the part was defective the owner was more than extremely rude.

I took it in and the person who helped me realized right away how to fix it. The waste water bin's movable part was not pushed back into alignment. She pushed it in and said she thought that would do the trick. She then said I could even give it a try on their carpet before leaving. I did and everything worked great. She wouldn't take any payment, even though I offered a couple of times.

They were willing to take what ever time was necessary to explain the product

He gave me all the information I needed, respected my decision to get the parts on my own.

While I had given Russ, the owner, carte blanche to do a major overhaul of this machine, he concluded that a simple cleaning would be sufficient. That only cost $39, instead of the $150 I was expecting to pay. Very honest! And super fast. Turned around the job in a day.

All good. They have their own parking lot on University Ave. which helps a lot, as they are located in the middle of the recent metro line construction. Easy in and out.

My Miele vacuum suddenly started leaving dirt and clumps of hair on the carpet. I took it into A-1 Vacuum. The repair tech took a look at it right away. He took it apart and determined that the Christmas tree needles I had vacuumed up a few days ago had jammed up the hose. (He said I was not the first one to come in with that today). After taking the hose apart he took the bottom plate off. He loosened up and took out lots of hair balls, fur and other unmentionables. That was it and it works great now. I appreciated the quick turn around. I didn't expect to get it repaired on the spot.

I called to ask if they would be able to repair a vacuum cleaner, the appx. cost and their work hours. The person answering the phone was courteous and provided the requested information.

It all went well. They were very professional. Because of the light rail there is no parking on University Ave but there are good signs to show you how to get to the parking behind the shop.

My friend borrowed my vacuum and after I got it back it was making an awful noise. I guess a rock or something had gotten wedged in between the belt and the brush. It stretched out the belt and damaged the grooves on the brush. (I am not 100% sure that I really needed a new brush, but next time I will ask for just the belt first.) Anyway, I brought it in and it was fixed while I was there. They weren't the most customer friendly, but they fixed my vacuum and did it quickly.

We had recently moved from a home that had central vac to a 1940's house with lots of carpet. I'd done some research and the Miele Calisto kept popping up but I was unfamiliar with the brand and hadn't bought a vacuum in 15 years. I needed help from someone who knew vacuums. With 2 kids and a big dog who loves to shed I wanted a really good vacuum that would last many years. The salesperson at A-1 was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. (Oh, I wish I could recall her name - she was fantastic!) She ended up recommending a Miele - the Dog and Cat model based on some specials they were able to offer at that time. I've been using it for 2 months now and love it! It is exactly what I was looking for - powerful yet fairly quiet, easy to maneuver, Hepa filter, and seems well-constructed. A-1's price was very competitive and I really appreciated the guidance and knowledge of the salesperson.

They were great on the phone and helpful to deal with. They had to order a part and it seemed to take a really long time to get the job done (almost a month). I had the feeling that when I called the second time (the part wasn't in when I first called) the part had been sitting there because they were able to get it done the day after I called. I really appreciated their speed after the second call and would give them an A but the length of time overall puts them in the B category. However, I would not hesitate to use them again.

I originally called giving details on two vacuum cleaners that I had, asking which would be the one to fix. The gal on the phone gave me an educated guess on which one to bring in, what was probably wrong and how much it may cost. I took it in and they were able to give a firm estimate and then fix it very quickly.

Service done overnight. Got a call first thing in the morning - vaccuum was ready.

My Dirt Devil hand-held vacuum had accidently sucked in a piece of twine and wasn't working. The people at A-1 removed the twine and installed a new belt.

My vacuum had been making a strange noise for a couple of uses but when I saw smoke coming out, it was time for the repair shop. I took the vacuum to A-1 and the gentleman fixed it while I waited. I needed a new belt and a slight cleaning. I was surprised that the bill was so low. I will definitely be bringing my vacuums here for any repairs.

The work was not done because the charge was too high. I suspect that they didn't even check the unit and just estimated what the cost to replace the whole roller brush with it's motor would cost.

We have an old Miele vacuum. Two substandard bags (not Miele brand) in a row split open in it (big mess). So I took it to these guys. It was clear from the first 30 seconds that they knew exactly what they were doing. Warned me that it might have wrecked the motor, but checked on the spot (it hadn't). Also warned against non-Miele bags, though I didn't need that warning any more. They cleaned up the whole thing in just a few days. Works perfectly now. When I went to pick it up I took along a carpet attachment that operates on the suction. It was all jammed up even though I cleaned all the dog hair out of it. I expected they'd tell me it was DOA, but they took it apart on the spot, found more dog hair jammed in the bearing (from a dog that's been gone for 12 years), put it back together, and now it works perfectly. No charge! Miele bags were of course ridiculously expensive (not included in the price I mentioned), but that's to be expected. All in all I've rarely been so impressed with a service company.

What a great experience! I walked in the door and went to the service counter. Raul quickly helped me, determined that I didn't need service - and immediately set about cleaning my vacuum, putting in a new belt and gasket. He took the time to show me how to do these things myself - and showed me the correct way to work with my vacuum. He also recommended small tablets to stick inside the bag to deal with the pet odors. I thought i was dropping it off - and in under a half hour - I was in and out with my vacuum ready to go! For under $30 I got a new belt and gasket, purchased an extra belt and a package of the odor tablets - and was only charged $16.95 for labor. Raul is very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I will definitely bring all my vacuums there! I also got the 10% off using my Angie's List coupon!

It took a whole year to get the work done, because they said the part wasn't readily available. Kind of expensive for the price of the machine. Another function quit working a month after I got it back, and I decided it wasn't worth the trouble taking it back. They were always very nice--unsure if our problem was an isolated problem with a part.

Went as I wanted . Repair took only three days. Unit works perfectly at home..

I brought my Dyson vacuum cleaner in 1/2 hour before closing time. They had all the necessary parts on hand and fixed my vacuum cleaner while I waited. The service was covered under warranty. The person I worked with was extremely knowledgeable and skilled, as well as accomodating and personable. I highly recommend this business for vacuum cleaner service.

The Dyson representative was very helpful and gave us all the information necessary and faxed it to the shop. They fixed our vacuum in less time than estimated and it works great now.
