Fantastic work by the Illi’s!

Dave came out quickly for an estimate and fitted us into his schedule within two weeks. He is terrific to work with. He worked overtime to insure that the wood color was a perfect match and was a seamless blend into the exisiting flooring The floor is beautiful - i could not be happier!

I can't more highly recommend David (owner/operator of Illi Hardwood). This project took five full business days to complete and he arrived promptly each day. He kept me updated on the progress with phone calls. He arrived on time for the estimate. He went above and beyond in many instances, specifically: he cut down a coat closet door that rubbed on the old hardwood in my entryway, he cut some new trim material for a different spot in my house, he trimmed my cabinets when we realized that the refridgerator would no longer fit because of the increase in floor height. He very clearly takes great pride in his work and I couldn't be happier with how my floors look now. I was concerned about matching my old floors to the newly installed floors, but the old floor now looks like it was installed new. As owner/operator, I felt that David takes more pride in his work than many of the larger flooring installation services who manage multiple crews.

He finished on time and did everything he said he would. Very professional! Nice guy and very flexible with our crazy schedule. The floors look fantastic. I would highly recommend him to do work on or install your wood floors. I also felt that his prices were very fair. He wasn't too cheap or too expensive. I felt like it was a fair price for quality workmanship. Also . . .no mess after he sanded. He made sure that everything was taped off with plastic walls. No mess. My wife was very happy about that.

Everything went great! David was very quick to respond to my message. He came over and looked at the project and gave me a very reasonable quote. We scheduled the work and he was punctual and professional in all his visits. The floor looks amazing for being 53 years old. I would definitely use his services again.

We own a rental property and the floor was badly damaged from years of misuse and then covered by carpet. We decided to replace the carpet but wondered if the floors could be revived. We didn't have much hope as they were covered by paint, water stained and damaged by a carpet stretcher in numerous areas. David came out quickly ,was punctual and gave us a bid that was very competitive. We thought "lets give it a shot". David gave us a firm date as to when he would begin and finish and he stayed true to his word. He protected areas that were not involved and was meticulous in his work. After he had sanded the floors bare we we're amazed but he worked even harder to remove small areas where there was still some deep seeded stain. He helped us to pick a stain that worked well The job took 5 days from start to finish. The floors look spectacular and we couldn't be happier with the work and the ending results David is a personable and hard working individual and we would recommend his services with no hesitation Thanks David

I purchased a rental duplex that needed rehabbing and David was able to meet my schedule and his pricing was fair. I had several floor boards that need to be replaced in 3 rooms because of the radiator pipes we removed and he matched the 100 year old floors well. He was great with communicating schedules and I had a delay on my end and he was able to accommodate the new dates. The floors and patches turned out great and he was a pleasure to work with.

Everything went very well, from the estimate to the finish. David mentioned that he could replace some of our worst worn boards but the sanding was so good, he did not need to replace anything. Our 15 year old, never refinished floors look like brand new. He also had a choice of eco-friendly products for me to choose from. He stays up-to-date on new products in the market and explained each to me so I could choose which product I wanted in my home.

David was very responsive to my request for a quote and provided a very competitive price. I sought out quotes from several other flooring specialists and I am very happy with my decision. From my first contact with David asking for a quote through a follow up I had with him months after the work was completed, he was punctual, caring, and professional. He is truly a breath of fresh air in these times in which I often hear from friends about their difficulties getting the people they've hired to complete their work on time, and even to show up and communicate. David did a great job on all aspects of the job. He proactively communicated with me throughout the job. He created minimal dust, and he thoroughly cleaned up each day. He was very patient and helpful to us as we were trying to pick out our stain color. He did a great job matching our new hardwood flooring to our existing hardwood hallway. You can't even tell that it wasn't all done at once. I can't recommend David Illi highly enough.

David did a great job and it looks good! He was responsive to online messages and getting the initial estimate to me. He stuck to his schedule and finished close to the date he estimated for completion. He tried to keep dust to a minimum when sanding by hanging plastic barriers, which were mostly effective. He made a visit to Menards to check out some discount flooring I wanted to purchase. He provided good pros and cons and I decided not to buy the sale item and instead went with his recommendation. He also held to his cost estimate even though he ran into some difficultly in removing the old floor. He was very friendly and personable. I highly recommend his services.

David came out and gave a competitive estimate. He made everything he was going to do very clear. Tore up carpeting int he family room, and manufactured wood in the kitchen and powder room. Installed white oak flooring, shoe, and even matching air vent covers. sanded, put 3 coats. his workmanship was excellent and couldnt be happier with the outcome. Did a marvelous job of cleanup as well!

I was told by my Realtor that my house would not sell unless we redid our hardwood floors. I signed up for Angie's list to find a reputable resource and came accross Illi flooring. David is professional, courteous, responsive and an all around nice guy. He came to measure to give more than a "ballpark" quote and promptly followed up with a quote via email. I called back to reserve his time and we set the date for ~1.5 weeks later. here comes the bad news. there were wayyy too many stressors going on and i told my realtor i couldn't do it at that time. divorce, found out my cat was dying (pets are my children), working OT at two jobs, on and on. Besides my cat being sick, i felt the worst about having to explain this to David. If an independent contractor reserves HIS time for ME, i realize i'm not only taking my business away from him but others whose floors he COULD have done at that time. I emailed him explaining the situation and apologized profusely. His response was immediate and compassionate. He understood i was stressed out and when I offered to pay him something because of the cancellation he said no!! Mr Illi is a salt of the earth type guy that i will eventually do business with and will send business his way as often as i can. Although my floors are not yet done, I think his work speaks for itself in the reviews. Seriously folks, if you want to work with a top notch individual, call him. PS Mr. Illi has NO idea i'm writing this but i wanted to comment on my experience. Hire him!!

Great! The floor looks nice. He did it when he said he would, and he was friendly and easy to talk to. The price seemed good.

It went really well. He takes the utmost care to keep things as clean as possible. He started when he said he was going to and finished when he said he would be done.

Everything went as planned. Work was done by owner, David Illi. He was very informative and was able to answer all of our questions. He was willing to work with my schedule. He was very professional & friendly. The floors turned out beautiful! His prices were very reasonable. I can't say enough about how pleased we were with his work.

David Illi laid a hardwood floor in my family room, which was initially started by me, the homeowner. I thought I could do a hardwood floor in my 275 sq ft. family room...but I soon figured out that I couldn't! I called David (as well as 7 other hardwood floor companies) to come out and give me an estimate on fixing the floor that I had begun, as well as finish it and sand the existing hardwood floors to make them the same color as the new floor. In our initial meeting he was prompt and detailed during the consult - and his estimate was a good price! I was a little concerned that he didn't have any other reviews, but I received his name from a well-qualified handy man and trusted his reference. I also checked out reviews and called the owner of Aura Hardwood Flooring, since David works with this company frequently. Their reviews are excellent, so I went with him! My floor wasn't square (as I made a mistake) so he fixed that then tied in new floors to existing hardwood floors using the hardwood flooring that I had previously purchased. (Never again...get the flooring from the installer! ) Oh, to top it off...he was really busy during the week, so he gave up 2 weekends to get me out of my disaster and let my household get back into order! He was also very flexible with start time (I have a late sleeper). David was very personable and made it easy for my husband or me to ask questions about the process. After installation, he sanded and coated the floors and cleaned up along the way. I never came home to a mess - he was very thorough with his set up and clean up. He finished the job in the time quoted(although my previously-putchased hickory flooring made it much more difficult) and we couldn't be happier with his work! I wish there were more people who are so easy to work with. Thanks so much Illi Hardwood Flooring...you've made me and my family very happy!!
