Lewis did a wonderful job installing closed cell foam in our basement exterior walls and rim joists. They showed up on time, set-up quickly, and were done ahead of schedule. There was little or no mess after they were done. On the day of the install Brian Lewis made a recommendation that saved me about 25% off what I was expecting to pay (and cut his own profit) because it was the way "he would do it in his own home". Putting the customer first, earns him and Lewis insulation my future business.

I contacted Brian a few weeks ago for a bid and we schedule a time for him to come. He came on time and he looked in my attic, walked around and told me he would write up a bid and email it to me. I asked him about rebates and he told me about them and how I could go about scheduling an energy audit to get the rebates. After getting a few more bids, I decided that Brian was the company to go with and so scheduled the work. We set up a time for a Monday. He called me and asked if we could change it to a Friday which was no problem for me to do. His two person crew came 15 minutes before they were scheduled which was great. They were very nice and respectful. They came into our home and put down a tarp to protect the floor and got to work. They did a great job getting it all put back together. I was so impressed by their work that I called Brian the same today to tell him how well I thought of the two guys. Anyway... I highly recommend this company. I am hoping that the insulation goes well this winter, but I am confident if there are any issues, Brian and his team will be able to fix it.

Late yesterday I contacted a number of vendors to perform rim joist insulation using spray foam for a basement remodel I am doing. I got an email confirmation of my inquiry rather quickly; then, I missed a return phone call from Brian Lewis about an hour later. When I caught up with him by phone this morning, I was able to explain my project. He then quoted me his minimum job price, pointing out that a lot of equipment & materials needs to be brought to the house to do the project, no matter how large or small. In further discussions, he turned me onto a local supplier of DIY spray foam kits, that can save me quite a bit of money. Brian even mentioned a price. When I called the supplier, sure enough, the product exists, and Brian was only $3 off! Kudos! In future (more substantial) insulation work on my house, I'll be sure to give Brian a call!

I contacted Brian Lewis as one of about six estimates to insulate the attic of my home. The goal was to eliminate ice dams and moderate the temperature in the second story, where it is typically uncomfortably hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. While I can’t assess the ice dam results until the first winter, I could immediately see results for the comfort in the second story. I no longer notice any difference in temperature as I go upstairs. The results have been better than I hoped for. I obtained numerous estimates for this work, and found that there were many different solutions proposed. The estimate from Lewis Insulation was one of the two most comprehensive solutions; yet more reasonably priced than the other top contender. As a bonus, they were also able to provide spray foam insulation services for the basement rim joists. Brian Lewis provided the estimate; he was prompt¸ knowledgeable, and – as mentioned before – thorough. He was also on-site the day of the work; the other workers were great too – they were polite, hard-working, and careful about cleanup. They were also considerate about being quiet when I was on work calls during the day. Brian also promptly completed the paperwork for the CenterPoint energy audit rebate, and was very helpful with a few follow-up questions when I called. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Insulated the attic in 1-1/2 story house, and also spray foam insulated the basement rim joists. In the attic, work included: insulated knee walls, under floorboards, in attic, in slant walls. Installed vent air chutes. Added roof vents. Foam sealed bypass areas. Added holes for venting in soffits.

The project began with an audit from Excel. Then followed with research and phone interviews of 3 insulation contractors. He was priced in the middle of the three, and worth the money. I asked for referrals. The work done was complete in one day, beginning on time at 7AM and finished at 2PM. Brian and his 2 crews were very professional, accommodating and appreciative of the business. Brian arrived with his crew for 1-1/2 hours, walked them through the project, returned at around noon to meet with his crew, checked with them and meet with me. He returned at about 1:30 for wrap-up and final walk through. One crew worked the attic and installed new vents, all new chutes and did the caulking and installed the fiberglass insulation. The second crew arrived about 10 AM and applied the foam insulation to the joists in the basement, leaving with the first crew. I would use him again and recommend him to others.
Description of Work: Attic insulation, caulking all necessary areas in the attic, replacing vents, pulling and replacing the all chutes which were collapsed and inoperative. I also had him foam insulate the joists in the basement, recommended by the building inspectors and Excel to tighten and warm the basement and keep out mice.

It went very smoothly. Very professional group. There was no loud music, yelling or swearing. Great direction from the crew leader. Once they got the area plastic-ed off they got going on the insulation. They kept me informed all the way through the project and asked me questions. When the insulating was completed they cleaned the area nicely and carried off all debris. I was told about the problem areas and what had been done. Great job!

Brian Lewis is super-nice and did have the cheapest bid (only by $60), but when I called later with a problem and he said he would send someone out, more often than not they never showed up or called. This happened more times than I can remember. The first problem was that his guys didn't replace the screws on the drywall cut-out access from the garage attic into the house attic space. Which meant the attic was not even sealed properly. The screws were scattered all over the attic floor amidst debris (loose insulation) and I had to scrounge around to find them then replace them myself. They even ripped off a corner of the drywall. Then they used short screws on the vents they replaced on the underside of the roof overhang, so after a few months the screws came loose and one even fell out. This meant anything could get in through the loose area. I called several times and each time Brian said he would send someone out but they never showed up. So i decided to write this review and as I had hoped, that got immediate action. Brian came out himself to fix the problem. I don't know if his ignoring/forgetting me before was because I am female; if so, I hope he now realizes that he can't expect us--or anyone, for that matter--to have infinite patience. He explained in a recent voicemail message that his business has been "experiencing growing pains," so I hope that means any problems will be a thing of the past. I suspect they will be the case, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and change my rating and review.

Brian was great from the get go, came in and was very knowledgable and informative, was able to answer all of our questions and help us understand how everything worked together in the insulation process. His crew showed up and worked non-stop (except for lunch) all day to get this done and were very friendly and helpful; they showed us different things they'd found in the attic that had to be addressed and told us what they were doing about them. Brian stopped by at the beginning to make sure everyone knew exactly what to do and answer any questions we might still have. They were so neat that when they left there was no indication they'd been there at all - except for the nicely insulated attic! He also made sure we knew about available energy rebates through Centerpoint and the Federal energy tax credits so that we could take advantage of those. I highly recommend him, and he's going to do my parent's home also because of this experience.

They were very highly rated and we used them and had great results. It went very well, they were very professional, they were timely and cleaned up well after themselves. We had a question on follow up so they came out and followed up with us. It ended up not being an issue but they were very timely and very willing to come out and follow up with us. All in all we would highly recommend them. The price was a low price, it was very competitive and we were happy with it.

Brian came out and gave me the estimate and was very honest about the mess we were in. We accepted his bid and his guys, Dan and Tim were out at our house by 7:30am. They put down some drop clothes and got right into the attic. Our roof line is somewhat difficult, so kudos to these guys for their crafty navigation. We ended up with a glitch getting to our lower roof line attic, but we were able to come to a solution that involved minimal visible damage to our living room. They spent the next 10-11 hours getting everything sealed up and in the right amount and levels. They were very courteous and thorough. When they were finished with the attic, they cleaned up their mess and headed outside to complete the soffit vents. They were out there with miner hats on because it was dark and worked hard to finish the job. Brian actually called us to talk to us about since we had the little glitch, he apologized and promised to keep the cost low if they had to do any extra work. They didn't, so our estimate and what we had to pay were the same. I would highly recommend Lewis Insulation after the great customer service, prompt arrival and great guys doing the actual work.

Brian and his crew were great to work with. He was the first one to come out and give us an estimate that we felt really "got" our issue and what the underlying problems could be and that he would be able to fix it for us. They were puncutual and stayed until the work was done. They were able to replace our chutes, get the insulation up to where it needed to be, clean our gable vents and remove our soffits and cut holes so we actually had ventilation in our attic. I would definitely recommend Brian and his business to anyone looking for help with their insulation and ventilation issues!

We had a cold kitchen since moving into the house in 2003. We would dread winters because we could spend little to no time in the kitchen. Frank arrived and the scene and promptly crawled back into a very tight space and diagnosed the problem. They arrived when scheduled and spray formed the entire area. I am sitting in a warm kitchen amd the temp is -5 outside. Many thanks to Frank, Brian and the team.

I did my due diligence in getting bids. I chose Brian for many reason, 1) He came in at the right price for the most work done. 2) Easy to talk and work with. 3) Hard working and honest. 4) I could tell he cared about his customers and had pride in his work. 5) Very knowledgeable. 6) I knew I could trust him. 7) He had a conscience, a rare find in this society! I am very happy with his work and enjoyed working with him and his crew which they were just as professional, hardworking and respectful as him. I highly recommend him!

Excellent! The two men who did the work were hardworking and very pleasant. They answered all my questions. They were very respectful of my home and kept it clean. The work outside required them to cut into the soffits about every 4 to 6 feet and they cleaned up the mess. Brian was easy to deal with and said he would send me the paperwork for the federal tax rebate. The cost was only 60 more than quoted which covered the cost of 2 vents in the attic which they felt were needed. I trusted Brian and his staff. Had our first snow 2 days after the work was done and can see the difference already. Brian and I had a miscommunication on when they were arriving but when I called to check, he was very responsive and his men got right back to me. This was not a problem.
Description of Work: Reinsulated attic of home and addition to R51. Added 2 vents to roof and vented soffits. Checked all outgoing vents to make sure they were vented properly. Found that the bathroom fan was venting to the attic so he fixed that. I was getting severe ice jams on my roof and they were getting worse each year.

Make no mistake, this was not a cake walk. This job was particularly intensive because: 1.) My roof has a really shallow pitch, which limits space to work in the attic 2.) There was an A/C unit from the 1970's with duct work going to all upstairs rooms 3.) There was a huge house fan in the upstairs hallway that just blew air into the attic 4.) My soffits were all closed up with plywood 5.) I started with 4" of insulation from 1966 I requested estimates from 6 different insulation providers for this job. I had severe ice dams over the winter of 2009-2010, so it was very important for me to seal up all attic bypasses. Since there were so many holes up there and the edges had such little room for insulation due to the roof pitch, I did not feel confident that the job could be done effectively unless the insulation was removed and a layer of foam was applied across the attic. As such, it was hard to find a company that could tackle all aspects of the job the way I wanted it done. From the first moment I met Brian I was impressed by his professionalism and honesty. I felt like he had the knowledge, experience and attitude to do this the right way. Some of the estimators gave me a high pressure sales pitch with 'discounts' only valid if I made a decision right there, but Brian emailed me the estimate and gave me time to compare it to others. Lewis Insulation was not the cheapest option, but I ended up choosing them because I felt they would do the best job. As it turns out, I made the right choice. Brian and his crew were punctual for all appointments and did outstanding work. They even managed to wrestle out the A/C unit from my attic once it was determined that it was drained and decommissioned properly by the previous owner. I had pre and post inspections done with infrared cameras and blower door tests and the results speak for themselves. The blower door test went from ~2400 cfm to ~1500 cfm, which is a 38% reduction in air flow. The inspector said that the average for attic sealing and insulation jobs is about a 20% decrease, so they managed to double the average results. Additionally, the infrared camera showed a massive improvement in air bypasses. Although some spots still showed, Brian's crew went back to work and sealed the remaining leaks before they left. Overall, I would like to thank everyone from Brian's team that worked on the project. The house already feels warmer and I can look forward to a winter that won't be plagued by glaciers on my roof.
Description of Work: Reinsulate attic and seal all bypasses, which includes: 1.) Remove air conditioning duct work. 2.) Remove old insulation 3.) Foam seal bypass areas. ( Lights, pipes, wires, fans, ceiling registers etc. ) 4.) Put in 6' vent chutes between rafters. 5.) Cut plywood covering soffts so they can vent. 6.) Apply 2" of closed cell foam across attic 7.) Blow fiber glass to a R-50. 8.) Build up around attic and seal when done.

Great company, professionalism, and he got everything done right away. I'm so happy I called Brian and even though I have a really old home after the insulation job he did everything feels better. I would definitely use them again because he went above and beyond my expectation with some really nice finishing details in my attic to make it efficient and user friendly. THANKS!

Brian Lewis was very helpful and friendly. He discussed various possibilities for insulating my home. His crew was excellent and very professional. Despite the large job, the crew was very non-intrusive in my home and always behaved appropriately. They were attentive to details such as their impact on the rest of my home. The work was efficient and I am very happy with the outcome. I had some difficulties with communication between the initial contact and the start of the job, but understand that Mr. Lewis had unexpected health issues during this time. However, I had no communication issues during the job. Given the time of year, we agreed to wait on the bathroom fan venting until the Spring/Summer when roof work is safer. I have yet to follow-up on this issue this summer.
Description of Work: Added loose insulation in attic to raise level to R-50, blew attic slants, foam sealed bypass areas; blew dense packed cellulose insulation into side walls of house (took siding off where necessary and drilled holes, plugged holes and replaced siding); filled knee walls; foam sealed around pipes and penetrations in basement; worked on bathroom fan venting
