It went well

The young man who showed up did a nice job, and was very pleasant and professional. The one concern I want to register on here, and which people should be aware of is this, and I'll say up front that it's sad when a business let's something like this diminish the customer's perception of its otherwise good service: I bought an Angie's List coupon and scheduled the visit 2 weeks out. They gave me a 3 hour time window, 9-12 AM -- then then missed it! I spent the morning working at home, and finally at 11:40 called the office to ask where the heck their guy was. I was told he'd just finished another job nearby and would be there in 15-20 mins. I think it was 12:15 or so when he arrived. I simply don't understand how someone can stay in business giving giant 3 hour windows to show up, then can't even hit that. If I told a client I'd be ready to meet with him sometime between 9-12, then showed up at 12:15, I'm pretty sure I'd be fired on the spot 9 out of 10 times. Which is exactly why I wouldn't use this company again.

They are arrived on time and were very professional. They explained what they were about to do and how they use the video for drain inspection. They took about 20 mins to cean the drain and call me down when it came time for the video inspection. Theytold me what to look for and explained that my sewer line was in good shape for a house built in 1942. I would recommend them to anyone that asked.

He was very polite and nice. He was efficient and allowed me to view him working. He was friendly and professional as well as clean and neat. He did a good job and showed up on time.

Velocity Drain Services did an excellent job of preventive maintenance, cleaning and inspecting our main drain line. In response to our taking advantage of a good deal on Angie's List, they squeezed me into a busy schedule on one of my suggested days. Andrew cleaned and inspected the line and showed me the camera view of the line. Given the state of root infiltration and condition of the line he suggested a future date for more preventive maintenance and said he would put our name on a reminder list. We have had problems with the line in the past, but I expect that a regular program of maintenance will save us trouble.

We could tell right away that they were having trouble. They were unable to clear the drain after several hours of trying. We have a lot of stuff stored in our basement just now, they were patient with that. When they left, they told me they could not clear the drain because of a sag in the pipe. They left a lot of raw sewage on the basement floor, which I'm told is unusual. I wish they had informed me there would be raw sewage left, I would have chosen to move my refrigerator and other things out of the way. I have had a couple of people look over the situation, I'm told that a sagging pipe is not uncommon and that it can be cleared. At the end of the day, I was charged about $650 and told to use the toilet as little as possible. We are in the middle of a remodeling project and that is our only toilet right now. When another sewer/drain guy came out to look, he told me it was as if they did nothing, the problem was as bad as before they came.

The technician who came out to my home was very friendly, professional and explained the service provided by the deal in detail. I very much appreciated his honesty about the actual work being performed.

Great! Bill came out and looked at the problem right away and came back the next morning to fix the problem. He set up to have the city come out and shut the water off and was here the next morning on time. He was efficient and knowledgeable as well as friendly.

Velocity was extremely responsive answering the call and completing the service in two hours' time. The cost was very reasonable. The technician called prior to arriving, was extremely professional. He explained how the plug might have developed and then performed the work.

My history with them started 8 years ago when the sewer backed up and put water in my basement (because of the tree root growth). We first called Roto Rooter, who didn't even go to the closest clean out to the street. They selected the one closest to the back yard and managed to break their auger. This meant that they had to clean out the drain and also remove their broken auger (and call the city of Minneapolis). And they tried to stick me with the bill. Long story short, they didn't end up overcharging me, and when I got the city in to help out at the sewer line they recommended a company that Bill of Velocity plumbing worked for. After that we used Velocity and I've never had a problem since.

Excellent work. -I called him on a Sunday evening and he scheduled the appointment for the next day. He was very responsive, and I appreciate that he took the call on the Sunday evening. It was especially important to me that he do the work as quickly as he did because I was scheduled to travel on Tuesday and wanted the problem solved before I left. -He showed up, did the work with no problems. -He was very polite and was quite willing to thoroughly and patiently answer any questions I had. Other background: I have two big Siberian Elm trees in my front yard and had to get the roots cleared out of the main sewer line previously. The first time it happened I called Roto Rooter. They showed up, tried to clear out the line and broke their auger. They then tried to charge me for the auger removal and the line clearing. To their credit, there were a lot of roots in the line and after lots of calls they fixed the problem without overcharging me after all. But my next call was to Bill. He came in and cut the roots without any problems. I will be calling him for future cleanings (which I need to do about every 9 months) and very highly recommend him.
