Dean was professional and accommodating. He gave me a proposal the next day. We are waiting for the buyer to make a decision.

He was very informative. He gave me ideas to try on my own. I would call him again.

Dean was prompt to the sales call and did a great job explaining the differences in the hardware (rollers, hinges etc.) that his company uses vs. the ones other companies use. He brought examples of the hardware to show me. He also gives a 3-year parts & labor warranty which was a year longer than the next closest company. I received four quotes and decided to go with the Garage Door Guy, because his price was the same as the lowest quote I received and the labor warranty was a year longer. So far, so good. One complaint: Dean was a little flaky about calling me back after I agreed to go with him. I had to call to find out if the install had actually happened on time, and to get a copy of the receipt which was not left by the installer. Eventually Dean mailed me a copy. My only concern now is, what if he goes out of business? Will the manufacturer stand by their lifetime warranty on parts?

On my way to work one morning, on the same day I was planning to go out of town for the weekend, the garage door got stuck part way down. I quickly checked Angie's List for a provider with good references, and called Garage Door Guy right away that morning. Dean asked some questions so that he could try to determine what would need to be done; he said he'd be there between 1 and 3pm. He arrived around 1 (I was thrilled with the early arrival because of leaving town that afternoon). Dean replaced several wheels and re-aligned the track, which had apparently been poorly installed by the previous homeowner. He also offered tips for my own maintenance on a regular basis, to keep the door working at its best. Dean was very prompt, helpful, polite and - I felt - very reasonably priced. I will definitely call him again, and recommend him to friends.

Very nice and punctual and thorough. And I liked it that they didn't ask me to "make sure to note this on Angie's list" the way some companies have done whenever they do something a bit above and beyond... you could tell he just wanted to fix it because it was the right thing to do and he wants pleased customers, not because he wanted some nice report on Angie's list. GREAT COMPANY!

FANTASTIC! We called him around 2 pm and by 4:45 pm he had the door not only operable again, but you could barely tell we had hit the bottom part of the door with our car where we had backed out and damaged the lower half with our Jeep. (Oops, were in such a hurry thought the garage door was already fully open.) Dean is really an artisan. He gets things working (and you don't even have to wait around for him) and at a price that can't be beat. Not to mention he's as nice as a person can be. All I know is we are ecstatic he's in our contacts. We've actually used him before (last time to replace the seal on a garage door) and we don't know what we'd do without him. He truly is THE Garage Door Guy!

Dean did exactly what he said he would do, when he said he would do it and with quality materials. He and his installer came to give the bid and work exactly on time, gave good advice regarding product, and the bid was lower than other companies. If all home improvement were conducted as Dean conducts his business it would always be a stress free experience. The garage door works great and is easy to program. We could not be more impressed or satisfied.

This was a very disappointing experience. Jeff came over and replaced the pullies, roots and bearings while I was not home. He left me a voicemail saying the work was completed, the door works, and to call him with any questions. I tried my door 2 days later, and it would barley go up and then I couldn't get it down. When I call the Garage Door Guy Company to let them know this the person I spoke to first asked me how much he charged me, I told $85 and he said what they could do was then return my check. It was only then that he told me Jeff had let him know the garage door opener was very old and should probably be replaced. He said Jeff had told him that he did his best, but had said it was still shaky when he left, nothing like what his voicemail for me had said. The man I spoke to said it was ''all even'' because I hadn't sent my check in yet. I think this company showed a real lack of integrity and I would not recommend them.

The Garage Door Guy arrived in the time frame promised and spent about a half hour adjusting the door until he eliminated the problem. He explained in detail what he had done. He also told me that a spring-type mechanism like I have is hard to keep in adjustment; he recommended that I replace the springs with a more dependable mechanism when replacement is necessary.

Very prompt replies to inquiries. Excellent work. Very satisfied with the end product.

This guy deserves the title of "Garage Door Guy." He was at the house 30 minutes after I called. He quickly diagnosed the problem: A broken spring. He replaced the spring, oiled all the working parts, explained how everything worked and how long the various parts should last. Six months earlier another firm had told me I should replace the whole door! So when it comes to garage doors, this is your man.

They were able to come out fast and assessed the situation and ultimately decided that a new opener was the best. They re-worked the previous owners contraption that was holding up the opener to the garage ceiling. Things were clean and neat when they left!

Very happy. He explained what happened, knew how long to expect a cable to last under salty conditions. Replaced a fixture on the bottom, to delay rusting due to salt water in garage. Pointed out other garage doors in the neighborhood to show me steel doors. Told price of replacing door.

Once we got ahold of them, they sent someone out right at the scheduled time that same day and quickly repaired, adjusted, and lubed the garage door and opener and provided some good information about how to do some general maintenance. Overall we were EXTREMELY happy with the work and were very happy with the price (which he quoted accurately over the phone.) The only downfall to this experience was that we tried to contact the company two times over the course of three days (around 4:30) and there was no contact back. Looking at the ratings of other companies and all of this companies high rating we decided to call one more time in the morning which was when we reached him and scheduled the service. The free quote and free general maintenance were great perks! If you're looking for great service at a great price, look no further.

Dean was prompt and professional, and explained in detail about the challenges of our tuck-under garage with old wooden doors. I would have been very comfortable hiring him, but we decided to go with another vendor strictly based on price.

I live within walking distance to Dean, but I never met him before this transaction. After I told him about the garage door cable, he gave a quote of $120 to replace the cables. He showed up within 20 mins. and noticed the broken bracket which tied to the cable was the source of the break. He added $30 for the brackets. The job was to replace both cables and brackets. When he noticed the bottom of the garage door was not in very good shape, he offered to cut two steel rods to provide additional support without additional charges. I am happy with the results.

he fixed my existing garage door opener rather than selling me a more-expensive replacement opener which I appreciated. He also took the time to perform a number of garage-door checks and adjustments to help the opener last longer and work more smoothly.

Talked to Dean who was very knowledgeable about his business. I had a damaged door that I needed replaced as soon as possible. He gave me a quote over the phone and was able to get the door replaced within a week (during a week he was on vacation). I relied upon his positive reviews on Angie's list and he said he could get it done fast. Everything worked out great. Don't know if he was the lowest price because I didn't get any other bids. Time is money.

Dean arrived early and completed the job efficiently. He was very thorough, checking all door and opener functions. Above and beyond expectations, he took the time to explain what he was doing and what to watch or do to keep everything running well. They did a fine job at a great price. The installation was very clean and looks great. The doors now operate flawlessly.

Garage door was suddenly frozen because of a broken spring. The very polite rep arrived within 5 hours of my call, completed the work promptly, and installed a new spring. The owner stressed the high quality of his materials. In addition, the company owner was very willing to answer in detail a technical question I had regarding the new spring. They were competitively priced, though they were not the lowest.

Dean arrived exactly on time and quickly determined the trouble. In 1/2 hour, he repaired a cable and completely tuned up the system. I would use him again without hesitation.
