I contacted The Garage Door Guy Inc via Angie's List ask a question email correspondence. The reason I used this method was because I had taken a picture of the brand of my garage door opener and wanted to send along as much information as I could. I figured the technician would appreciate this and be armed with info about manufacturer and model # and be prepared. I was happy that they contacted me the same day and sent someone out that afternoon. The problem is when the technician got out to my house he took one look at the unit and said he didn't work on those! What?!? I was confused and a disappointed that they would waste my time. To try to be as fair as possible I gave them an "A" for Responsiveness and Punctuality, but a "C" on Quality and Professionalism.

Jeremy was great! Called in advance letting me know when he'd be here. Got started right away and was friendly! I asked if our old keypad could be used with the new opener to try and save some money, which he tried but wasn't compatible. He also installed an additional support along the very top of the door as the door had had a slight crack in it from when the old crazy opener randomly shut on something the ended up bowing and cracking some. I appreciate this greatly as it should help keep this door from needing replacement in the future as the door would have just gotten worse with the stress of opening and closing. Also, Tim who I communicated with over email with inquiring about the install and all my other questions was always helpful and quick to respond! Would highly recommend!

The scheduler made the appointment for the next business day. The techs arrived within the scheduled time window and were very professional. The install was done within the time frame the techs stated. Everything is working well.

Responsive and punctual. Doors fit beautifully with tight seals all around. Good clean up. Highly recommended.

Jeremy came out the same day and in a very short time had replaced all rollers, lubed, checked door adjustment, etc. He was very polite and professional. Very pleased with the work and the company! Would use again - and highly recommend!

Put a call in, got Dean on other end. He was helpful and knowledgeable and was able to quote the job for me over the phone. They put in better quality springs and are willing to warranty the life of the springs but pricing is very fair. Scheduling was very easy and flexible and they were able to come out on a Saturday at no extra charge. The day of the repair Darren, my technician, gave me a call that he was on his way to my home and arrived in the 2 hr window I had been given by Dean the day prior. Darren worked fast but as willing to let me watch and talk to him while he worked answering all of my questions. He also saw where the garage door opener as not properly bolted to the frame of the garage and took the time to secure things and did an alignment check and PM on the door opener for a small surcharge. Alland all very pleased. Will use this company again if there is a need and would be happy to refer them.

While attempting to leave home for work early this morning, the garage door opener was unfortunately making only "clicking" sounds and was not opening the door. That's when my husband & I noticed the broken spring and rusted cable. Thanks to Angie's List, I was able to quickly research garage door repair companies, and narrowed the choice by service area, years of Super Service Awards, and the most overall "A" rated customer reviews. The Garage Door Guy Inc. (located on Creekridge Lane in Chaska, MN), appeared fit the bill. Plus for Angie's List customers, their website included a 10% printable coupon! Yeah!! I phoned the company and received a call back shortly afterwards from their answering representative. A 3 hour window of time for service arrival was agreed to. It was reassuring, that this company also offered "emergency service" if needed. The service technician, Mark M. was prompt, courteous, and knowledgable. The same day service was greatly appreciated as well as Mark's call to our home, to confirm his ETA. Mark first replaced the springs. Love their Lifetime Warranty on the springs! He showed us our current rusted cables, noting that the majority of wires making up our rusted cable were broken, and that only a very few were still left and would most likely snap apart in the near future. Our garage door's weather strip was badly chewed by some critter in the past, so we added this extra replacement task to Mark's list. In regards to that "clicking" sound we heard from the motor, Mark discovered a loose wire connection in the motor box which was the probable cause of the motor making only that sound and not functioning. Within an approximate 1.5 hours of work, we had a functional and safer garage door! This was our first time using this company. It was a pleasure working with our service technician Mark and we would highly recommend him as well as The Garage Door Guy, Inc. !!

They did a fantastic job. I really like my new door and the fact that I can open it from a distance.

He arrived promptly as scheduled, and assisted the door up, so I could get my vehicle out and he replaced both springs,adjusted and lubricated all parts, all took about 45 minutes and the dooor fit better than it has for years. Works smoothly and quietly again. I would use them again.

On a below zero day in February the cables on our garage door broke and our door was hanging half open. We called and were able to get the Garage Door Guy come out and replace the cables, I also asked him to take a look at our track and rollers and he agreed they needed to be replaced. He ended up replacing all of it and did it within an hour at a very reasonable price. My only complaint is he stuck a sticker on the wall of our garage under our garage door opener. It?s not the end of the world, but I normally would not have done it.

I've always used The Garage Door Guy for garage door repairs and maintenance. This time I purchased a beautiful new garage door and installation from The Garage Door Guy. This company has always provided top-notch service and responsiveness. The new garage door installation is nothing less than perfect. This says a lot given I'm a picky person. The installers were great and they didn't leave a mess. Aside from a new garage door, one wouldn't know they were at the house. Truly exceptional service. I'm moving to a new house and will definitely be using The Garage Door Guy again and soon. Thank you.

this was a Terrible visit they Brent didnt even stay to answer my questiions I had about my garage door He came and said I need an new Garage door and let!! I had several questions and when I called him Back he didnt answer the Phone I went with Elk Garage Door Company IN still water MN(Stillwater Garage door company). they wer friendly and Great service, My Garage Door LOOKs Great!! WOW!!

The wind had blown the small entry door into the track as the garage door was lowering. The door stopped but not until the door was crumpled and askew in its track. I called and left a message with the Garage Door Guy that evening telling them about the accident. (They had originally installed the door.) The repair person came out the next morning and completed the repair expertly and efficiently in about 15 minutes!

Our 12 year old automatic garage door opener was not operating correctly, stopping intermittently during opening or closing cycles. This occurred regardless of the remote or keypad being used. The problem diagnosis originally indicated a replacement opener would be required. When Jeremy from The Garage Door Guy arrived with the replacement opener he saw our defective opener's onboard lights blink for no reason when the opener had stopped mid-cycle. He performed another inspection and determined the problem was actually with the opener's circuit board. Although he didn't have the correct circuit board on his truck, he performed other maintenance we had requested until the circuit board was delivered by another technician (that's service you don't see very often). Thirty minutes later the new circuit board arrived and was installed. Our opener works and sounds like new and replacing the circuit board was much less expensive than a new opener. Thank you Jeremy for taking the time to ensure the real problem was identified and corrected.

Excellent. The Garage Door service person immediately identified the problem of the garage door opener not working was because the company that initially came out to install springs and then went onto recommend over $1600 in service and repairs had simply left the trolley on the opener disengaged to lead me to believe it not longer worked. The Garage Door Service person also confirmed that other parts and services that had been recommended to me were not needed. Once the trolley was reset the garage door opener worked fine. It was a little noisy so I had him check the trolley to see if any of the teeth on the trolley were damaged. There were a couple that had corner tips broken, so I had him replace the trolley. He then lubricated the entire system and tested it. I wish I would have called the Garage Door Guy initially. The first company charged $568 for 10 year warranty springs and a cable. Garage Door Guy would have charged $269.00 for the same work and the springs would have had a lifetime warranty.

We had a new opener and keypad installed. The job from start to finish was as easy as could be. I called them up to ask about prices and availability. The price was about exactly what I thought it should be and they came out within a few days. I believe they could have come out sooner but I wanted to wait for a warmer day as I had already put off doing this for so long anyway. I requested a belt drive which is just a little more expensive ($50) but for me it was worth having something as quiet as it could be.

My garage door stopped opening on a Tuesday morning. I called The Garage Door Guy around 11 and they were able to immediately commit to having a technician on site between noon-1 the same day. The technician called ahead to give a more exact ETA. He arrived on time and immediately determined that the spring was broken and needed to be replaced. He also did a general check-up and gave me assurance that everything was in good shape. The new springs came with a lifetime warranty. The work was completed quickly in about a half hour. The Garage Door Guy was very prompt and efficient, and the technician was polite and friendly. I would definitely use them again.

Got immediate call-back on message left and had repair date set for a couple days later (at our convenience). Arrived promptly and had work done within 1/2 hour. Polite, efficient, effective.

I was unable to access my garage (on a work day, with the car inside!) when my remote control apparently failed. The Garage Door Guy was the only provider I called who was able to help the same day. Mark arrived when promised, gained entry to the garage so I could remove my car, and installed both a new remote and a keyed disconnect to provide manual access. He also lubed and adjusted the door, which now operates so much more smoothly and quietly than it ever has before! Mark explained everything and was extremely helpful. I absolutely would call this company again.

I was very impressed with the promptness of this business getting someone out to fix my garage door (same-day service). The repairman was very knowledgeable and shared with me everything that needed attention. I was not pressured to do anything. Of course, I needed the spring fixed and the price was right. He was very professional and did not dawdle while doing the repair. I will certainly call them again, should I need repairs...but I believe I am good to go for the next 10 years, according to the repairman!!

Our garage door had been broken for about a week, just hadn't had time to even call anyone. I called this morning, expecting that I'd have to live with it a while longer (not fun with the recent late snowfall!) The scheduler asked if having someone come out between noon and 3 would be OK (definite yes!) The person doing the work was professional, worked quickly, honored my Angie's coupon, and we now are back to having a functional garage! (And the springs now have a lifetime warranty, rather than the 5-year warranty that we had... that was up a few years ago...) Excellent impression so far.

Arrived on time and completed the job in less time than quoted.
