Tonna Mechanical

Over 4th of July weekend my air conditioning went out. It was midnight on Saturday night, the temperature outside was still over 80 with high humidity and my 1 year old was developing a 103 fever. I couldn't wait until morning to get someone in to figure it out so I spent a few hours figuring it out myself (I probably wouldn't suggest that) but after cleaning it thoroughly and cooling it off I figured out that the capacitor went bad. It's normally a $15 to $20 part if you buy one from a place like home depot, but they usually aren't going to have them in stock. So instead I just waited until 6:00 the next morning to call them. Within the hour I had someone meeting me at their office to sell me the part. The part was $40, but they didn't charge me for any after hours charges. I was plenty happy with paying a little extra for the part in order to get it as soon as possible.

Everything--from the first contact to the end of installation--was excellent. The people are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Service is punctual and fast. These people know what they are doing, and their work is flawless. We had one very minor problem with a new-machine glitch, and the correction was handled immediately. Tonna Mechanical is a pleasure to work with.

They were very thorough and professional. They arrived promptly at the designated time. They knew what to do and went about their work efficiently. When they had a question they asked if it was a good time to talk with me - they just didn't interrupt me. I would highly recommend Tonna Mechanical. They inspected my furnace and did not try to sell me a new one but reassured me the one I had was doing just fine. I like that it was no pressure from them on trying to sell me a new furrnace even though my is older.

They were very courteous, professional, and efficient with the entire process. While receiving an estimate he provided all the information to make an informed decision yet I never pressured. All work was completed as discussed and in a timely efficient manner. They gave us instructions on proper operation as well as having everything cleaned up when they finished. After the furnace and air conditioner were installed and work completed, it was wonderful to have a new worry free system especially during the extremely hot season. When there was a question about the proper function of our air conditioner within a couple hours after it was started, I called and they immediately came out to resolve the issue which turned out to be very minor. I would definitely reccomend them for any HVAC needs.

Less than stellar. Technician tried to convince me that the expansion tank needed to be replaced when it only needed to be drained. He also tried to sell me an entirely new boiler when the current boiler works fine. Technician was evasive when I asked about the cost to replace the expansion tank and how much a new boiler would cost. After the technician left, I drained the expansion tank myself and the boiler works great. I am going to figure out how to clean the boiler myself to avoid the 119.00 charge in the future.

Tonna was recommended by our decorator, and they've done work for us in the past. Their bids were competitive. They provided options (good, better, best with matching price tags) and provided the proper paperwork for rebates with an easy to follow checklist. We didn't meet with them a lot, because once decided, the job was done nearly seamlessly one day, and no return trips were required.

Our A/C went out in early July. I called Tonna early in the morning to follow up on an online repair request. They sheduled a service visit promptly and the repairman arrived punctually and got right to work. He came back, explained what was wrong, how much it would cost to repair and upon authorization, installed a new part. The entire experience was positive and professional, and I felt the cost was reasonable. I will call them again.

Actual installment of furnace took all day 8-pm -5pm and one man except some time awkward item to put out worked to do the job.The thermostat was also changed to programmable one. At the end the man instructed me how to operate it.We were glad that we decide to upgrade them. Now the house is evenly cooled. Downstair and upstair room tempatures are the same. Before downstair was cooler than upstairs. It all went well.

They did a great job installing it and it works well. They were fairly reasonable in price considering the work they did. I checked pricing with other companies and they were the most reasonable.

They performed the job very well. They are professional. They came in, got the job done. They cleaned up and made sure everything was working. I had to call them several months later, but they gave me the answer over the phone. The price was competitive. I would use them in the future if needed.

The experience was positive overall. My house wasn't getting very cool inside even though my A/C was running constantly. Tonna came out, look everything over and took a bunch of temp measurements in and around the house and furnace, while running back and forth to the A/C unit outside. The coolant pressure was adjusted, and the technician said that the adjustments should help. Everything went great and they were very friendly and helpful, except for the A/C never seemed to work any better. It was toward the end of the summer on a cool day. The technician said that it would have been better to have done it on a hot day, so I don't know if that made a difference or not.

The whole experience was great. The estimate was done professionally, the service team was punctual and completed the full installation as promised, and Tonna provided help in processing all rebate and tax credit forms. I can't imagine it going any better.

They were extremely helpful, considerate, qualified, personable and thoughtful. Each and everyone I worked with was terrific.

The service man was very proficient and came well equipped to do the job. He also answered a variety of questions I had pertaining to my heating system. The system has worked very well and we have had no problems.

They came when they said they would. Installed the furnace and cleaned up very well after themselves. I would definately use them again.

When my central air conditioning unit failed to produce any cool air during 90 degree weather in early June, I decided it needed to be replaced. I called several companies to get bids. Tonna was the lowest bid and had the same brand as the previous one (which had lasted 25 years). They were prompt, came when they said they would, and installed the new unit in a morning. I would definitely call them again.

Appointment set up was fast and easy for free estimate. Steve was our sales guy- very knowledgeable, very friendly, excellent job. Installers showed up on time and worked well. Put down plastic to walk on from front door all the way to furnace. Communicated with me when new guys showed up to assist or they went to lunch. The company followed up to make sure all went well and when my bill came, they had included and FILLED OUT all the rebates that I was eligible for. All I had to do was sign and send. Great experience.

My husband was trying to replace the kitchen faucet and there were no shutoffs for the water supply under the kitchen sink so he shut off all the water in the house. Then he couldn't finish the installation. He'd been working on it all day and was extremely out of sorts, and I considered committing a felony. I called Tonna and made the woman at the switchboard laugh when I asked if they had a plumber who could fix a kitchen sink "even if my husband has already screwed it up." The plumber on call (Darren) warned me that the price would be a lot higher since it was after hours on a Saturday and told me how far away he lived and when to expect him. He got here more quickly than I expected and finished the job installing the shutoffs and the finishing the faucet installation very quickly. He was pleasant and professional and may have saved someone's life or at least my marriage. My husband was also pleased and relieved.

I was very impressed. Initial sales call and estimate was prompt and professional. Installation was prompt, cleanly done and completed on schedule. Technician did a full test and walk through on operations when complete.

Technician was scheduled to arrive before 4pm. Received call before 4pm that he would arrive later that expected due to other job running late. He arrived a 5pm and inspected the air conditioner inside the house and determined that the compressor outside was likely to be the problem. After less than hour the technician found the problem capacitor and replaced it. The air conditioning now ran and cooled the house. Very satisfied with the work.

It went perfect from acceptance of the quote to insallation and follow-up...I had an April-Aire humdifier they also provided a new filter for...Very happy with the new quiet units...

I had gotten 5 different estimates and Tonna had the right price for what we were looking for. I should of been tipped of when Jeff, the sales guy, was the only one of the 5 to go out to his truck to write up the estimate instead of going over it with me while writing it like the others. When I called Tonna to set up an install date Jeff wasn't there so another sales guy set it up for early the next week. Install went fine, the guys were okay (If you don't mind them trying to get the other one to walk through their flatulence). When they were leaving they told me that Jeff would be stopping by to go over the system with me. They had left at 1 so while I was waiting for Jeff to show up, which he never did, I looked over they system myself. I noticed that they had thrown out my filter which I had just replaced about a week before, it was the same size and could still be used. I also noticed that the thermostat was reading about 4 degrees colder then it really was. I also had a question about the placement of one of the gas pipes. The next day I emailed (that's how I set up the est in the first place) Jeff to see if I needed to set up a time for him to come or what and that I had some questions and comments about the install, and that I was wondering about the rebate forms. Well its now been a week since the install and I just got the bill and rebate papers in the mail, and no response from Jeff. In the bill (from "Jeff") it asked if I like to meet and go over my system, um yeah I did and was told at install that it would happen. In the past week I found the answers to my questions on the internet (like how to miscalibrate the thermostat to show the correct temp). The only thing left to tell them is that they throw away my perfectly good filter that I had just purchased, and I don't need to meet just for that. The furnace has parts and labor warranty with Tonna, so if something goes wrong we'll call Tonna, but if we need any other work done, we'll call someone else.

From the initial consultation to the final cleanup, I was very impressed with the Tonna folks. I was given a thorough quote with all the applicable rebates worked into the quote. The installation people were very punctual and were very professional and courteous. They worked all day to get everything installed and working properly. They did a fantastic job. After the sale, they sent me all of the rebate forms I needed and filled out everything they could ahead of time. They were a pleasure to work with, and I woudl highly recommend them.
