Description of Work: We had the final four windows installed in our house. The windows and woodwork was $10,000. One of our windows is pretty big, bumping the cost a bit. Cheap inserts were in the house when we bought it. There had been some water damage, so we were replacing all the wood as well. Two of the installs went fine, but the remaining two windows were rotted down to the foundation. They managed to get a contractor who they work with over that afternoon. Everybody was very professional and knowledgeable. The siding had to be taken down on that side of the house and all the repairs done. The two men worked two 11 hour days. The wood inside the wall all had to be removed and replaced, a little of the sheetrock, insulation and floor boards replaced. They installed the final two windows and cleaned up after themselves. They never left the site; they worked hard all day long. The repair of the side of the house cost $4000. We started our window and door replacement project in 2009 replacing a couple every year or two. Of all the workers we've had at our home over the years, every one was very professional, courteous, and good to work with. We've never had any problems or complaints. Our sales rep was never pushy, and he knew the products very well. If we need any more doors or windows in the future, we wouldn't hesitate to call Pella again.

Description of Work: They installed new replacement window inserts. I like the windows, they did a good job cleaning up after, Tracy- my rep- was very responsive. I would use them again. The only complaint I have is the caulk they used to seal them seemed to pick up a lot of pollen in the first day or two- there's not really any way I can figure to get it cleaned so that part looks a bit dirty.

Description of Work: Replace 33 windows in house. It went well. but a few snags. A second install team came to help the initial installers who were behind schedule due to an illness. The first team was professional and diligent. The second team was just concerned about time spent at project and took shortcuts. This resulted in an mess outside in the yard and a need for a 'recovery ' team to fix some issues with the install. | |One window was delivered damaged and the replacement part was broken on re-install. Still waiting for this part and it is due Jan 18. A combination of my schedule and theirs conflicting. | |Everyone was always polite, friendly, on time and the interior of the house was cleaned up very well. The fixes were handled professionally and accurately and in a timely manner.

I ALSO WANTED PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION SO DOOR WAS INSTALLED JUST RIGHT AND WEATHER TIGHT. PRICEY, THOUGH. I USED TO BE ABLE TO FIND PELLA DOORS AT A LOCAL HARDWARE STORE, BUT NOW THEY'RE ONLY SOLD THROUGH PELLA STORES (AT TWICE THE COST)! SALES REP AND OTHER PELLA PEOPLE WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS--WHEN YOU COULD REACH THEM. COMMUNICATION GAPS WERE FRUSTRATING, BUT THEY DID DELIVER IN THE END.
Description of Work: REPLACED STORM DOOR. I'M HAPPY WITH MY NEW DOOR NOW, BUT LOTS OF SERVICE PROBLEMS ALONG THE WAY. THREE WEEKS FOR DOOR TO COME IN (STANDARD SIZE!). SCHEDULING INSTALLATION TOOK ANOTHER 3 WEEKS. THE INSTALLER SHOWED UP HOURS EARLY. THEN THERE WAS A GLITCH RELATED TO PROBLEM WITH THE OLD SILL. IT TOOK ALMOST A MONTH TO GET THIS (& A COUPLE OF OTHER SMALLER THINGS) RESOLVED SO DOOR WAS CORRECTLY INSTALLED ... LOTS OF UNRETURNED PHONE CALLS UNTIL I CALLED A SUPERVISOR. BUT FINALLY, THE COMPANY DID STEP UP TO DO IT RIGHT, I GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR THAT. AND THE INSTALLER (CHRIS) WAS EXCELLENT.
