Pella Windows and Doors

After a hail storm, I had 17 windows that needed replaced. There were many options available to work with, and we went through 5-6 different quotes before I settled on an option. Matt was very patient with the process. The installers Luis, Peter, and Colby were very helpful. Everything went nearly perfect. One wood strip on a window a had deep / long splinter, and it was resolved the same day. They were very careful with their spray foam so that it didn't expand out onto areas it shouldn't be. I also had them coordinate the window stain job afterwards, and that went perfect as well.

Sales Service was quick, personable, pleasant. Installation was exactly as promised: on time, finished early, cleaned area, extremely professional. We just got the windows installed, so it's hard to speak to the quality until winter is here. For now, easy to operate, look great. Probably at the higher range of the other estimates we had gotten (it was hard to compare, as the inclusion items were a little different), but we are hoping that is also coming with higher quality and certainly came with very good service.

This is our third Pella installation! They have done a total of 41 windows and a door. Professional, timely, courteous, from salesperson to installers to service rep. Follow up is excellent.

Our work was done a few years ago but the windows have been great and worth the money. Very professional company. Loved that we could get wood on the interior of the windows. Matched our woodwork pretty close.

After comparing offers from multiple companies we thought that the cost and quality of The Pella door was a good deal. As we started the purchasing process we discovered that the Pella resprestative gave us out right false information regarding the warrranty and details of the installation. Will never do business with Pella.

The Windows look and work great, but it's still summer. The "acid" test will be when the winter wind blows. The old window, only 17 yrs. old, let much cold air in, I'll give an updated review after the winter.

Work was completed in one day and installers were very efficient and professional. The new windows are vinyl and we opted for full replacement rather than inserts. We are very happy with the new windows. The screen for the patio door does not always slide easily but it is designed to be removed. We chose the base level windows because of the price but the quality seems very good.

Our experience with Pella has been exceptional. They are very easy to work with and come across as genuine, understanding and caring group of people. From my first call to schedule an appointment to the time they actually installed the product everything went real smooth. I really appreciate the support and recommendation I received from their in-home sales consultant and also branch mangers who worked with me very closely. My only challenge to them is on their tag line of "Viewed to be the best". I had both vinyl and wood window installed and wood is simply beautiful true to their tag line, but the vinyl window, I would stay clear of it. It does not quite measure up to the brand.

Windows are good, though some are quite hard to open; others are very easy. Tracy was my rep and she was very good, answered a lot of questions. The install crew was also good, professional. My only gripe is that there were some rough cuts of the wood where they wrapped the existing window frame that were left to me to deal with. The 'caulk' used on the inside at bottom, right angle between window and the sill, picked up every piece of dust it seems. It now looks really dirty and old on all of the windows. Overall, I'm happy with the windows, they've generally been very good, no issues.

The installation took three days and the crew did a great job both with the installation and clean up. They were punctual and very efficient and hard working even though the outside temperatures were brutal. They even worked late on a Friday night in the dark to complete the job. We are thrilled with the new windows and the appearance far exceeded our expectations.

Excellent product, friendly and competent installers and good follow up on questions

We just had a new front door put on by them. It is gorgeous. I've even had delivery guys say I like your front door. There are a few little things that need to be finished and I have to keep calling them, they don't call me. They were right on time for everything.

We used Pella Windows and Doors. It cost around $6000. They were here February of 2015. They messed up the wood stain color on the trim, they got the color wrong. I guess more accuracy. They tried to repair it.

We requested a quote to replace 12 windows in early September and found scheduling with the salesman and measuring to be very responsive - within a week for both. The windows we chose were the same as the originals and some were on each of our 3 floors. Installation was scheduled for November 10-11, and we received reminders and the permit in a timely manner also. A crew of 4 arrived a bit earlier than the 7:30 start time we'd arranged on the 10th, and they worked until 6:30 on the first day and got 8 of the windows in - three on the second story, and 5 on the main level. The rest of the project was complete by noon on the 11th. The crew put a trail of dropcloths throughout the house, and cleanup was very good. I would use them again, though I hope I won't have to!

We would not use them again. The finished product was a little messy. The caulking was messy. The windows themselves do not black out noise. My husband even warned them that he works in the construction business and told them that he expects the caulking to be a very nice, professional looking job and even with that warning, they had to come out and redo it because it was very messy. They were compliant with coming out and fixing everything. They were pretty prompt. Their price was average. They said they would be here in a certain time and they were.

Calling Pella and and arranging to meet with the sales person Matthew was an easy process. Matthew was a great resource and highly knowledgeable a of all the Pella products based on what we were vaguely trying to describe based on our complaints he matched us with an end product I sincerely hope he gets a commissions for because he did not pressure us into any unnecessary "up-sells" and the door is exactly what we were looking for. On the day on the install he even stopped by but being a turn of the century house they had a "lead" sheet up in case any of the plaster or stucco flaked so I did not talk to him in person. The install took longer in the day because they took suck great care to not only do it correctly but to not do any damage to the plaster and stucco, not many contractors do that... they just seem to damage slap some patch and tell you to repaint. The door needed a little adjustment later to close smoothly but I would say this is an amazing job form the person on the phone taking my interest call, meeting with Matthew for the and sales and attention to detail install crew.

In our first encounter, the rep attempted to sell us vinyl windows which are not appropriate for Minnesota's harsh winters and high winds. We actually learned this from the Renewal by Andersen rep. When the Pella rep came by a second time, he confirmed that those wouldn't be the right windows unless we wanted to sell our house soon - and presumably pass those lower grade windows onto the next buyer. So we upgraded to the fiberglass version and priced it all out. All told, Pella's prices were about 15% under Andersen - BUT, we were offered 0% financing over 5 years from Pella, a package Andersen was unwilling to match. That brought an additional 10% difference to the total price (in current dollars), so Pella was actually under Andersen by 25% with financing considered. We were disheartened when Andersen refused to match the financing - on a $33K deal?? Well, Andersen, you lost. The actual installation was very smooth. We were told to expect the installers to arrive on a Tuesday at 7 AM and they didn't arrive until 8:30 AM, but worked solidly until 4 PM. Similar work on Wednesday and they finished around noon on a Thursday. For all the work they needed to do, we were impressed with their speed and efficiency. The work looks great! We had an inspection by the city shortly after, and he agreed it looked good, but noticed one window with an apparent leak - a factory defect which he said they should fix. We are in the process of doing that now. One other comment. Our rep said he would be there to the supervise the entire job, but did not show up for it at all. Maybe he didn't need to be there, but when you say something you should do it. Pella also now offers window treatments - a new area for them, and we were told they might run $15K. Thirty three thousand dollars for windows and $15K for treatments?? I think not! But overall, very pleased with the work and financing, if less pleased with the initial sales pitch which we felt was geared toward selling us something rather than the best product. In the end, Pella listened to us. Had Renewal by Andersen done the same, there would be Andersen Windows and Doors at our house today. We still feel badly for the Andersen sales rep who really knew his stuff, but somehow the company wasn't willing to do what Pella did - listen to the customer and deliver an excellent product at a reasonable price at a great financing rate. We would select Pella again.

The Pella showroom in Edina was very useful in deciding what to do but it took us a couple of years to figure out exactly what we wanted to do. We had Pella sales reps out to the house twice to look at the installation because there were some unusual circumstances related to replacing the existing doors. Scheduling those visits was easy and once we decided what we wanted to do (and confirmed that it was possible to do) they helped us figure out a good way to pay for it that fit our 'budget'. The sales closing process went smoothly and then all we had to do was wait for the manufacturing and schedule an installation date. When that day came. everything went relatively smoothly and, although the installation turned out to be a little bit of a challenge, the guys did a great job. They even pointed out something on the door hardware that I would have missed (or maybe not noticed for a while) and the salesman came out and looked at the (cosmetic) problem and confirmed what needed to be done and got the part ordered. We love the doors! We got the Designer series with the built-in blinds because we wanted privacy and didn't want to have to hang blinds or curtains on the face of the doors. Start to finish we were very happy with how everything went and now we're looking at replacing some old original Anderson casement windows in our 60s home. Good enough windows back in the day - but the technology has changed a lot since then and these things leak and bleed cold air in the winter and, again, we'd like to have the privacy without having to surface mount curtains or blinds and Pella is the only real quality manufacturer that still has the built-in blinds feature available.

We decided to purchase Kolbe Ultra versus Pella based on quality of product and what we deemed improper shortcomings in the Pella installation at a neighbor's home. We also felt quite uncomfortable with knowing the proper price as it kept dropping over time invoking substantial sums of money. This was a ballpark $50,000 job.

It was fine. Their work has always been really good. I've always been happy with them. There's really nothing that I could complain about.

I think they did an excellent job. There were a few things that needed to be fixed. They had to come back to fix a couple of things, but overall I think they were very professional. They did a great job and they have good products. On the quality, we had a sliding screen door and replaced the Pella that we had with the same kind of thing. It was like 20 years old. The sliding door quality was not up to Pella's standards in my opinion. Other than the sliding screen door, I would say that the quality was very good but that it was not at all what we expect from Pella. Everything else was fine, it was just the sliding door.

Their sales rep was just ultimate professional, very kind, and respectful. He always took his shoes off and asked what our opinion was. He showed up every little detail about what would happen and he paid great attention to detail into our wishes.

They were expensive, but it was great. Their service and the products were great. We knew we spend more because we believed it was better quality and I think it is.

The technicians that did it were very good. They were friendly, they had some humor, and they knew exactly what they were doing. The opening of this door end had to be modified because the previous door was a slightly different size and I was impressed with the way they went about that. They knew exactly what they were going to do and it took a little imagination to figure out how they were going to do this and it worked out just fine.
