They arrived on time. Discussed with us what we wanted done plus they told us what they thought was needed for the health of the tree. They willingly cut up the large pieces and stacked them neatly. They were friendly, efficient, and we are pleased with the results.

I purchased an Angie's Deal - $400 of work for $200. North Star came out to look at my tree and gave me a bid on what it would cost to properly prune my tree. It had a lot of dead branches, some attached and some stuck in the tree. There were also a lot of sucker branches and branches that hung over my roof. Also, the tree hangs over part of my neighbor's back yard. In order to do the tree work, they had to have Xcel shut off power to my house and to my neighbor's house. My neighbor runs a day care, and shutting off power when she had kids there would have been a huge problem. However, North Star worked around my neighbor's schedule, and did the work when she had vacation time and no children were present. They came promptly at 8 a.m., trimmed up the tree and left a bill in the door, deducting what I had already paid for the Angie's Deal. (So the job would have cost $1400, but I paid $1200.) They did an excellent job - better than anyone else has ever done (I had it done about 5 years ago by another vendor). The tree now looks beautifully shaped, and will let a bit more filtered sunlight through to my lawn. I didn't stay home to watch, but my neighbors said it was very interesting to watch them work - swinging from branch to branch on their tethers. They also cleaned up nicely.

John came out and gave us a bid on the work. When his crew of 6 arrived, they did wonderful work and the clean up couldn't have been more thorough. We found this business on Angie's List and will definitely work with them in the future.

The guys showed up at the agreed time and within an hour they were done.

I was very happy with the work they had done. They were very prompt with getting me my estimate and doing the actual work itself. The date they were originally scheduled to come out took place during a snow fall. They couldn't safely do the project and had to reschedule. They were prompt with calling me and notifying me about this. This happened twice during the month of March. Something understandably outside their power, but they were good about letting me know and doing what they can to reschedule so I was pleased with that. When they were finally able to take care of the tree I didn't have to be involved in anything. I left the house as they were taking down the power line and when I got home the tree was all trimmed. Great work.

The crew arrived right on time and set to work. Overall it was a big job and they were there for about 4 hours. They were professional and obviously skilled. They did a beautiful job and the trees look amazing. All the debris was cleaned up and hauled away; no mess. They are already scheduled to come back late spring and fertilize. One of my neighbors already called me for a referral and I gladly provided it. I will definitely hire this company again....and John is so nice to deal with.

This was a great expereince. They came and did a free estimate - I didn't even need to be present. They also talked with my neighbor about the service as well to make sure he was ok since the tree went into his yard a little too. THey cleaned up nicely after the work was done. Overall, a great expereince. I would use them again for sure.

John and his crew did a fantastic job from the trimming that took place at the tops of the trees to the cleanup of all the branches --- including raking our snow covered yard. We believe that having North Star Tree Care take care of our trees was a wise investment that we will benefit from for years to come.

Company showed up on time. Very pleasant to talk to. Seemed informative. I did not use the service at this time, but wouldn't hesitate to call again at some time in the future.

I used an Angie's List $199 Big Deal coupon for a portion of this service. It went fine and there were no problems. They did a good job and cleaned up as best they could despite the snow. They said they would come back in the spring and do even more cleanup if we wanted.

I contacted several tree services requesting estimates. When I got a hold of John from North Star and requested an estimate he said he would be out that evening, if it was OK, to check out the work site.. I was not going to be home which was no problem for John. He showed up left a very competative professional estimate, which he left taped to the front door. I called the next day and over the phone agreed to he esitmate. He had an opening the next morning at 07:30AM and asked if I would like to start then. I agreed. He showed up ON TIME and started work. He called me at work later to point out a dangerous tree, leaning toward my house that was hollow and shot me a very reasonable quote over the phone for that tree. I later go another call concerning some dead hanging branched I had forgot about and had missed. Again a very reasonable quote to which I agreed. I had asked John to take the brush but leave the timber at a designated spot. When I arrived home after work at around 3:30 PM the work was all done and the crew gone, without damaging my home. The timber was stacked where I had requested it and in the lengths i had requested. The area was clean and neat and to my surprise the trees that they had worked on had been professionally trimed. So to recap, they did what they said they would, at the time they said they would, in manner they had said they would for a competative price. And finally they provided more value than I had expected.

Them were on time and did an excellent job.

We hired North Star Tree Care to remove one small tree and trim nine tall trees. Because we have underground sprinklers, we could not have a truck on our lawn. The guys from North Star climbed all the trees to trim them. They arrived promptly at the time they gave us, and worked efficiently and carefully. Since we have a lot of snow on the ground, we still have a lot of debris on the lawn. John told us to call him in the spring after the snow melts, and they will come back to clean up. All of the guys were nice, and John was great to work with. We would hire North Star again, and highly recommend them.

We had several estimates for removing an oak tree leaning toward our house and trimming off dead wood from three other trees. John gave us a separate quote for grinding out the stump and grinding out an older stump, with leaving the wood chips on the driveway and the wood in a pile out back. They were prompt, did the work out in the snow, and moved the logs from where they started to pile it to where we intended to have it piled. We appreciated their work, flexibility, and promptness.

John, the consulting arborist, was on time to do the estimate. He had me walk around the yard with him and specifically discuss what we wanted done on each tree. The day of tree trimming, the crew was punctual, worked safely and completed the tree trimming and removal in a timely fashion. Both of our immediate neighbors hired them as well.

We had previously used North Star for some trimming and then contracted them to remove a big dying oak tree in our backyard. We received multiple estimates and found their estimate to be competitive. Overall, the North Star team is great. On these types of home maintenance needs, it's important to feel confident that, if something were to go wrong, it will be taken care of appropriately, fairly and with urgency. Nothing at all went wrong, they got done within the quoted timeframe, no surprises on the bill and they do a great job of clean-up. The people who work there are pleasant, professional and genuine. At every step in the process, they were diligent, conscientious and efficient. They are very good about addressing all your questions and providing peace of mind about the process. These guys are solid, I'd definitely recommend at least getting a quote from them on any big tree work you need done or on any seasonal trimming needs.

John Boeder, an Arborist was very professional and pleasant to work with. He gave me an estimate and was willing to match or beat other estimates. He made suggestions to improve the look and life of the trees and also saved us some costs because it involved less work than what I had anticipated. He and his crew arrived at the exact day and time that he had promised and he reviewed everything with his men and with me before he left to bid on other jobs. He told me to discuss anything with his assistant, Joe. Joe was very helpful and asked me questions and made suggestions as he trimmed the hedges of amber maples and the dogwoods. Upon my request, he also trimmed off a couple of branches of birch trees that he could see was hanging down and in the way. The other two men climbed the large green ash tree without using spikes (which John had told me would hurt the tree). They did a great job in removing limbs and balancing out the tree limbs for a nice look. They removed all the debris. The whole job took less than 3 hours for 3 men. Joe presented me with the bill which was exactly what I had agreed to with John. I paid them by check because a charge would have cost extra for the merchant fee which I fully understood. I am very pleased with their work and would use them again and recommend them to anyone.

It's wonderful to see a team like this, who is proficient and proud of their work.....truly Excellency in their field and a rarity in today's age. Thank you to ALL of the team!!!!!

A few big branches tore off from two of my trees in my front yard. I called a LOT of tree companies, and one came out and left a brochure, and called me back a couple days after he was supposed to do the work. NONE of the others called me back either. These guys answered the phone, and came out the day I called, I had to pay a minimum, but it was worth it not to have these branches in my yard anymore. They did an AWESOME job and I will be calling them for tree services again in the future. I am SO impressed with the quickness of the service, the fact that they answered the phone (most ofthem don't), and that they got the job done well and finished that day. They perfectly cleaned everything up, raked my whole front yard and not a leaf was left on it, and you never would have known that the branches were even in the yard. The ironic thing was that a couple companies called me after the tree was gone, and I asked for a general estimate, and ALL of them were higher than what I paid. This is a good group of guys. The guy who came to my house was very pleasant and when I thanked him for coming out so quickly and doing such a good job, he was actually polite and thankful. VERY IMPRESSIVE COMPANY. CALL THEM! I know I will be using them if this ever happens in the future, or my trees need trimming.

Wow! These guys were INCREDIBLE!!! John showed up on time for providing me an estimate and was very friendly and professional. The estimate was very reasonable. The crew arrived the next morning at exactly the time they promised. Joe, the crew leader was very friendly and professional and they got right to work. I came home that evening to see how the finished job looked and I was very, very happy with how well they had trimmed the tree. All the debris was removed and they did a fantastic job cleaning up. I would definitely recommend them and call them the next time. A+++++!

The team was very thorough and cleaned the yards very well. They were also very accommodating to personal requests such as providing us wood chips as well as souvenier stupms. I was truly impressed by the estimators's responsiveness and the team's willingness to do a good job. I would highly recommend North Star Tree Care to anyone requiring any type of tree service.

They did a great job. The trees are big and they had to work around a swimming pools. They did very well with that, and cleaned up very well after themselves. The workers were courteous, but they were a couple hours late. The only reason I didn't give them an A is because they were late and didn't notify me. Other than that, the service was excellent.

Highly recommend them! They do a great job of cleaning up after they are done.

I found North Star Tree Care because they were knocking door to door. They did a great job and were very communicative. When the first person came by he told me when the next person would be there and they were. If they were running late they were good about calling. They came to my home twice, one day to take the trees down and then the next day to grind the stumps. They worked about 3-4 hours the first day and about 1 hour the second day. The price was fair, it was hard to get anyone to come here.
