They didn't charge us any money for the estimate. They were wonderful. He was on time. Everything that he promised that he was going to do, he did. He came with the estimate. He was being held up at another job so he called to let us know that he was going to be late and he was there. He had enough courtesy to call us to let us know that he was going to be late and I appreciated that very much. He even did a follow-up call. My husband wanted to try doing this project himself after we got all the quotes. I wanted to go with Justin Dupont because he was really good, but my husband won out. I am not discounting Dupont either because the work hasn't been done yet. If I give someone a call back, it is going to be him. He was really really good. I thought that his estimate was pretty much in the ballpark.

We had a fire in our garage in February of 2010. Upon Initial contact with the insurance company, they sent out a claims adjustor to look everything over, the adjustor said that it was just minor cosmetic damage that was done by the fire and that a few minor repairs and a new coat of paint should do the trick, however our whole house smelled like smoke and that assessment just did not sit well with us, so we called out Justin Dupont from Dupont Construction, we had them build a custom front porch for us a couple of years before that and do some siding and they had done a very good job. We also remembered that the owner Justin Dupont, had mentioned when he was doing that work, that he had a background in structural engineering, so we thought that he may be able to take a look at the house and let us know if the damage was more extensive than what was being explained to us by the insurance company. We called Justin and let him know about the fire that we had just had, and asked if he could come out and take a look when he got a chance, he was at our house within an hour to take a look for us, he examined the garage as well as crawled up into the scuttle hole in the roof access to see if any damage had been done to the roof trusses. The guy from the insurance company never even acknowledged the scuttle hole or looked inside to see if there was any damage done beyond the garage walls. Upon examining this area, Justin informed us that there was extensive smoke damage as well as some structural damage inside of the roof trusses, and because of how our house was laid out, it was very important that we not stay in our home because we would be breathing in the smoke damage, which could cause serious health risks, he suggested that we contact our insurance agent and let him know that he had come out and inspected the garage and roof area above the garage and that he accessed that there was much more extensive damage done than what was originally found by the adjustor and that it was also not safe for us to stay in the home, The insurance company then arranged for us to stay at a local hotel until the damage could be reviewed by them. A few days later I was hospitalized with pneumonia which the Dr. Told me was greatly aggravated by the smoke inhalation from the fire. I can only imagine how bad it could have been if we did not call Justin out and stayed another night or two in our home breathing in that smoke. Justin worked very closely with our insurance company as well as with a Claims Service company that he had worked with in the past to make sure that our home was properly repaired and that we got all of the compensation from the insurance company that was due to us for the damage of our property as well as all of our personal belongings that had to be replaced. When everything was said and done we had a new garage built, a new driveway installed, a new roof installed on the home, and new siding installed on the home, new windows installed and new doors installed, and we also managed to fit into our budget and save enough money on the repairs and replacements for us to have Dupont Construction and Remodeling, build a beautiful, 24’ x 24’ room addition above our new garage as well as a new 12’ x 12’ four season porch and 10’ x 10’ cedar deck. They did such an excellent job in the big and small details of our projects and they made our home look more beautiful than we ever thought possible, I get compliments almost daily from our neighbors about how great the house looks now, It was more than I could have ever dreamed of and we were so thankful that Justin stood up for us and worked so h****** our project for us and did not just let the insurance company push us around. Once Justin got the go ahead from the insurance company to complete the repairs. He had everything already ready to go and it was all set in motion. We stopped by the house every other day or two to check on things and could not believe how fast the crews were able to get things re-built. He was given the go ahead to start the first week of August and he gave us an estimated project completion date of October 15th to build the new garage, addition and porch as well as install the new roofing and siding, windows and doors. We received a call in Late September from Justin informing us that they were going to be done ahead of schedule and we could move back into our home on October 1st, we were so thrilled and pleased with the whole process.

The guy that came out and did the inspection is the owner of the company. After contacting about ten other contractors, he gave the best inspection, by getting up on the roof. They were able to do the job in one day, which was nice. I felt the most comfortable with him based on his inspection, and the price was mid-range. The quality was great and I have had compliments on the finished project.

They do not communicate well. They give you a snow job. They butter you up and get you off track with the original job @ hand. They never came back to complete my siding job.

We have an open house coming up, so we had time constraints. Justin Dupont came out to do the estimate. The shortest he could get the job done was in the time limits we proposed. In fact, he was able to get the job started early. We picked out composite material and aluminum railings at the time of the estimate, however, the railing we picked out were not available. But, Justin gave us an upgrade at no additional cost and the new railings look even better than what we originally picked out. Paul Mertenf was the carpenter who did the actual work. I can't say enough good things about the way he handled the project. He is a real artisan. He did an excellent job with particular attention to the details that make for a very professional look. He kept the area so neat and clean that all we had to do was add the chairs and the cool drink to begin using the deck. I feel like I got more than my money's worth. I got professional attitude, quality of work and attention to detail.
