The sales person came to our home to discuss the products and help us pick out the look we were trying to achieve. Everything was measured and ordered. When everything was completed at the factory, the installation took about two days. We were happy they could get the old tub out without scratching any of the walls or woodwork. They were very neat and didn't track through the house and cleaned up the mess when they were done. We LOVE our new bathroom, especially the jetted tub.
Description of Work: My entire bathroom was refurbished: new tub, sink, enclosure and hardware.

We met with their representative, made our selections, and paid the first half, which was $5,500.00 on September 9, 2015. I think they finally started on December 17, 2015. They did not work long the first day which ended up with one tile thrown away and a hole cut through the bathroom wall AND the bedroom wall while removing the tub surround. The one tile was from the bathroom floor which was original to the house and which was NOT being replaced. We were not able to match this tile as the house was built in 1977. We did not receive much help from Minnesota Rusco or their sub contractor with this problem. My husband and I finally solved this problem ourselves. The bathtub replacement went well after they were convinced I was not accepting a tub with any imperfections. We have yet to see the tub stopper that supposedly came with the tub. Apparently it came in damaged and they have been unable to replace it. While most of the onyx surround looks wonderful one piece looks very sloppy. It sticks out and still carries the measurement make which no one bothered to wipe off. The vanity and vanity top are a different story. Two 24 inch vanity cabinets were placed. They sat about an inch from the wall so a spacer piece was put in at one end. Nothing is symmetrical because of this. One set of doors opens even with the center of the first sink. The other set of doors opens to the right of center in the second sink. We went from a single sink to a double so spaces were carved out from the center and back walls of the vanity. There is a piece of wood at the bottom of the vanity which is raw wood on the open side. Evidently the counter top was measured incorrectly. The one piece onyx vanity top/sinks is on the short side. The difference was filled with caulking. This was started on December 17, 2015, although I could be off one day. They have sent the bill for the remaining $5,500.00, which I won't pay until they complete the bathroom. They seemed surprised that it wasn't finished when I called to explain this. This is the second time I have had to call the and tell them the work hasn't been finished. I want the bathroom remodel we were told we were getting. This is just a mess. It looks unprofessional and sloppy. We could have done a better job. No one seems to know what any one else is doing. The sales representative is different from the measuring people. The measuring people are different from the scheduling people. Then we have the sub contractors and one other guy. I am not sure what he does as I have been unsuccessful at reaching him again. We are very disappointed with the quality of the replacement vanity and top-our old one was ugly, but it was well made and fit the area as it should. I have heard nothing from anyone since I told the sub contractor I wanted everything fixed.
Description of Work: Thus far they have completed the tub replacement.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], We are terribly sorry for your experience and more concerned that it has taken this long to resolve. As with all remodeling you often run into things that are unexpected. That is normal and to be expected. How we handled it is disappointing as the owner and you have my sincerest apologies. I understand the bath Manager visited your home the other evening to get a handle on your concerns. I am confident once you and he agree on a solution we will complete it post hast! Thank you for registering your frustration. Best Regards, Jay Deems GM/Owner

They, apparently, are not aware when their sub contractors will be available. When told for the second or third time they were going to be unable to start my "project" I told them fine, reimburse us what we had paid and we would be done. I should have stuck with that. With in about an hour of them starting I had a hole in my bedroom wall from the bath tub removal and missing tile. This tile was original to the house, 1977. No hope of replacing that, and of course it was one tile. Three days short of three months and they are still not done. My husband and I finally resolved the tile problem by cutting a whole tile and covering the missing area with larger quarter round. The tub surround looks pretty good, except for one area that sticks out funny. They were evidently not interested enough to even wipe of the measurement markings before sticking it to the wall. The vanity top was apparently not measured correctly. This necessitated filling the missing space with caulking. Two 24 inch cabinets were used to make up the vanity body. Unfortunately this left things about an inch short. They solved this by putting a spacer in at one end. This means everything is off. The center of the door falls in the center of one sink. It does not on the second sink. There is no symmetry, which is a big deal for me. There is raw wood visible under the vanity. When putting trim down under the vanity they just shoved it in across the raw wood to the other end-which is about half an inch deeper than the raw wood end, and caulked it until it stuck. We also, for what ever reason, have not been given a plug for our tub. They are unable to find one, since the one that came with the tub came in damaged. The plaster they used for the wall repair they did not finish was dumped next to our driveway, where it remains. With as much difficulty as they have had putting in an acceptable remodel they have had NO PROBLEM sending the rest of the bill. I have not paid this, and will not until we get what we are paying for. I think, although I could be wrong, it has been over two weeks since I have heard anything from them. The bathroom is not finished, the bedroom wall has yet to be completely repaired, and the plaster remains as a visual reminder that they are incompetent. I am at my wits end and have no idea where to go now.
Description of Work: This remodel was started on December 17, 2015, I believe. They contract was signed shortly after Labor Day. It is now March 14, 2016. We are still not finished.

They have been taking a long time, mistakes have been make as well. They keep giving me the run around as to who I am talking to about getting this job done. The sub contractor has been blaming me for ordering the wrong cabinets but they ordered them. They pulled out my tub and broke a pipe then said I would have to get another plumber to come out and repair it. The tiles in the shower are sunken in and not flush against the wall. It has been several months and they are still not done. This isn't even half of what is wrong but there it too much that they have messed up.

We found MN Rusco at the Home Show. We set up a time to have someone come out to our house to give us a quote on window replacement and a bathroom remodel. The gentleman that came out was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about his product. He also quoted us a cost of a bathroom remodel, which we ultimately agreed to. We did not appreciate the "hard sell" at the end of his presentation, however. Our project did not start on time as they were very busy with new business from the Home Show. They did proactively contact us and advise us of the delay. Once work began, the GC was very communicative with us and kept us involved in every step along the way. The work that was done was quality. I have no doubt that the fixtures and finishes installed in our bathroom will be there for many years to come. Overall, we are pleased with our experience with MN Rusco.

We met representatives of the company at the state fair and scheduled an appointment to discuss possibilities for adding a porch on our house. 5 minutes before our appointment we got a call that the meeting was cancelled. Frustrating because I had left a project I needed to finish to get to the appointment on time. We rescheduled for another day. 5 minutes before that appointment we got a call that the person could be 1 1/2 hours late. If they can't show up on time to sign us up for the job, we can only imagine how bad it would be trying to get the work done.

THIS IS LONG, BUT REVIEW IT ALL! YOU WILL THANK ME FOR THIS! Minnsota Rusco (60 years in business!) I sought out several vendors to do this job and after estimates and review, my wife and I decided to go with Rusco. We sealed the deal, picked our colors, and got our financing set back in February of 2015. In the meantime, we decided to change the colors we wanted and called Rusco to make those changes. We were told to "just let our guy know when they do the second measurements" and they'll make the changes. So, between February and April, we waited. Never found out why, but I began to make calls and the second guy shows up and does the final measurements. We gave him the color changes and thought all was well. A few weeks after that, our parts show up. We kept them in our living room and didn't open them, thinking "well, they have to be right". MAY rolls around, yes it didn't get started until May 25th, and the installer comes in. Great guy (John) by the way. He begins demoliting the bathroom and got as far as the vanity and we were talking about the color changes. At that point, he wanted to go and check all the parts. Lo and behold, they were all wrong. Instead of getting our new parts and color changes, Rusco sent our original parts and colors, regardless that we followed the instructions they gave us. Our installer called it in and after a short argument with "Greg", the parts were on order. Weeks went by until the new parts show up. All the colors were fine, but they forgot the correct tub! So, we wait again. He was able to continue and got things rolling. To abbreviate all our woes: (60 years in business!) Plumber shows up on 6/24 - didn't pull a permit (60 years in business!). Work was done and he forgot to secure a coupling. Leaks...fixed by "John" (what a lifesaver). John comes back and continues until he had to pause for the electrician. Electrician calls on 7/3 and wanted to come by before the holiday and get things done. He calls at the last minute to cancel, "because the boss had a critical job he had to go to...yeah, right. Electrician and John come back on 7/6. Work continues. Oh, I forgot to mention...the electrician did not pull a permit! (60 years in business!) The "ceiling guy" came by and said the ceiling couldn't be done...so that went another 3 days before he could do it. The lady in charge of the orders was on vacation for a couple weeks and no one picked up her work (60 years in business!) Electrician was also on vacation...slowing down our install (60 years in business!) Finally, all the work was done and we called the city of Burnsville to schedule the inspections. This is because Rusco (60 years in business!) let's the homeowner schedule it. So, after Rusco figuring out the permits issue and the inspectors coming out, it all was done. A 2 week maximum job took over 3 months! What I didn't mention was all the calls and complaints I had to make with "Jason". Not once, did Rusco flag our account as a problem account in need of extra care. Not once did Rusco (60 years in business!) make an effort to be proactive in their service. Not once did Rusco (60 years in business!) make any effort to get things right. Oh wait, they did! They sent us a check for $200 for the inconvenience. No call, no note with the check, just the check (60 years in business!). Oh, and the final invoice for all this "service"? We still have not received it, after asking for it numerous times (60 years in business!). I had my call with Jason. We talked it all out and he heard me, agreed with me, and assured me this is the exception, not the norm for Rusco (60 years in business!). He wanted to do what he could to make it better. Know what I told him? We completed a window job from "The Window Store" (look for their glowing review from us! Fantastic company!) and it only took 2 days to do 18 full, custom-sized windows. Exceptional work. So what I told Rusco (60 years in business!), was that they lost $36,000.00 worth of window work, because they couldn't get a small, $11,000.00 bathroom job done right. Bottom line, is this company stinks (60 years in business!). Their process is horrible, their customer service is next to nothing, and the only good thing about them is John the installer and the price. Their sub contractors didn't pull their own permits and didn't even get the job done right. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!
Description of Work: MInnesota Rusco was hired to renovate our upstairs master bathroom. It entailed putting in "Onyx" products for the shower surround and a whirlpool tub. Additionally, replace these items purchased by us: Vanity, toilet, cabinet, stainless steel fixtures, and reattach our mirror.

Dear [Member's name removed], My sincerest apologies for your experience. Unfortunately, we came out of the gates early this year and over sold our ability to provide the quality of service that we are known for. We normally complete about 900 projects a year. From Jan to March we had already sold over 400 and we simply got behind and stretched the capabilities of my staff. This error is on me for allowing it to happen. The good thing is you seem reasonably happy with the bath remodel and for that I am grateful! We have some of the best installers in the business and are proud they are part of the Rusco team. We have learned from this difficult experience and we will not make the same mistake twice. Thank you for your candid review. While it hurts I do understand and sounds like we deserved this one! Ihave already asked them multiple times to take me off the call list. Yesterday, I very specifically called back and repeated the request. They continue to call and I have finally had to block them. They called today twice within a few minutes from multiple phone numbers while I was in a meeting. They did not leave messages so I called back and asked who it was and the guy was extremely rude and unprofessional. This company does not care about customer service and does not deserve your business. It never serves us to call someone who does not call. Not sure what happened in your case, but we have a very tight DNC system that prevents us from doing as you've described. However, if you sign up multiple times at the fair to get the free give aways it is possible that you may be called to confirm information on the sign up card. The company is not very good at communicating. We were scheduled to start the job on a certain date. We waited until 8:30 a.m. for them to show up. When they did not, we called, only to be told the job was delayed two weeks. That was very unprofessional and annoying. There were subsequent issues with scheduling and getting hold of the person in charge of the scheduling was very difficult. They only have one person who can look at master list and answer your questions. There were numerous delays and again, no communication. As of this writing, the tiler still has not returned to put in the last 2 pieces of baseboard, which needs to be grouted to match the rest of the tile work. And the shower doors and glass has rubber or plastic water seals that are falling apart. We have contacted the company directly to no avail and have spoken to the salesman, Scott Esperson, at least twice. No one has responded. We felt that they took the money, half upfront, and then the job and quality was put on the back burner. The workmen who installed the tub, shower, toilet and vanity were great. The glass for the shower was delayed and a lousy job was done in regard to the seals. All in all I would not recommend this company to anyone.

(Member name removed), We appreciate your honest feedback. I am glad that you were happy with our installers and most importantly the finished product. Since your bathroom was sold, almost 2 years ago, we have taken steps to improve our systems and communication to the customer. We've hired a dedicated bath production manager and an assistant. This has afforded us the opportunity to catch up on our backlog of installations and be more efficient. Coming of the State Fair in 2012 the interest in our bath product was so good that we got caught off guard and fell behind. Proper communication became one of the casualties as we worked hard to satisfy all of our customers. Your honest review "stings" a little but its feedback like this that makes us a better company at the end of the day. We sincerely apologize for the poor communication but again are glad our installers did a good job. Looking at the after photos of your new bathroom gives me some comfort that in the end....the project was done well. Again, thanks for your honest review!

I did not hire Rusco because I believed that their service was overpriced. I was interested in partial window and sliding door replacement for my twin home. Although the salesman gave a nice presentation and the product seemed satisfactory, their estimate to install two sliding doors for $4500 each and to replace two bedroom and one small kitchen window (all casements) for $4800 was outrageous. Nearly $14,000 for a partial window replacement for my home seemed ridiculous.

Dear [member name removed], I am terribly sorry you were displeased with the price for your project. We are priced very competitive with other professional companies in the Twin Cities area. I would caution you, when you do hire someone to complete your project that you make sure they have all the necessary insurance should something unforeseen happen, use good products that will last and finally have professional installers to compete the project to high standards. It is not cheap to do it right! I am glad our sales person was professional and did a nice presentation. That is all we can ask. The final decision is always the customers. I wish you well on your project.

We are very pleased with how the bathroom turned out and with the guys who did the work. But not at all pleased with the lack of communications with the office on when the project would start and how long it would take. We were told one week when in fact it took three weeks. And that was because the shower door had to be specially ordered which we were not told about until after the shower was in. Our salesperson told us the cost of the project and how much we would have to pay each month but the payments are double what he quoted us for monthly payments. If we had known it would have been that much each month we would not have done the remodel at that time.
Description of Work: Minnesota Rusco moved our toilet and placed a walk-in shower in it's place. Then removed the old shower and placed the toilet in that spot. They also removed a wall between the toilet and the old shower because the area was not big enough otherwise.

I wasn't as happy with them as I would like to be. It was kind of pitiful. We almost ended up feeling sorry for the guy and that was kind of turnoff but I used Rusco previously for some exterior doors and they really did do a good job on the doors. I'm very happy with the doors. It looks to me like the insulation that they put on was not nearly as high when they told me it was and I'm not sure if that's just because the salesperson really didn't know the product. It's okay. It seems like it could be a little better insulating in cold weather. I think that they might be a little overpriced but generally speaking, the quality of their work is pretty good.

Don't order vanity and sink before signed paperwork. If I had known this wasn't for sure I would have spent more time looking for vanities and held off placing the order. The estimate sounded reasonable, so I was just going to go with them. Now I need to go back to the drawing board. I was contacted by the owner of the company after this review was posted and he resolved the issue. The work was done beautifully. (Original update did not post).
Description of Work: I had Don from MN Rustco out to look at my bathroom - I have a tub that is tiled on the outside and the tile is falling off, also tile falling off under the sink. I wanted to have the wall repaired / retiled and the tub retiled. Don came out and was very nice. Called to ask their bathroom person if they could do the work. Yes, he gave me a price, and I was ready to sign the paperwork. He went out to his car and determined that he didn't have the right paperwork with him. We set up one time to sign the paperwork but he called and was going to be delayed by an earlier appointment, so we set March 8 to sign the paperwork. In the meantime I ordered the vanity, sink, and faucet so it would be ready as soon as the work could begin. He called late this afternoon and told me that MN Rustco can't do the work. I now have the vanity and sink sitting on my front porch... I hurried up and made a decision so the vanity would be here when they were ready to begin work. He told me that the bathroom guy looked at the photos this morning (the ones he took on March 1) and determined that they can't do the work. I am so very, very frustrated. I was not told that anyone else needed to approve the work, as supposedly we were going to sign the day he was here but he said he didn't have the right form.

In your situation, we had to construct a new opening and the city requires an on site inspection of the header after we have built the opening and before we install the door We called them, as usual the day of the installation and scheduled the visit but they (the city) had a conflict and could not come to your home that day. We can not call days before because until we begin the project we are never sure when it will be ready for inspection. We do this daily and have never had an issue until your project. We would have liked to move forward anyway but the city of Bloomington would not allow it. Nevertheless, you were very understanding and we deeply apologize for the inconvienence. The reason for my lengthy explanation is our Angies list rating is very important to us and a C sounds bad, especially since you gave us A's and B's in all the specific catagories. Enjoy your door and thank you for trusting us with your home! Jay Deems Owner/GM

I had their salesman, Andy, come to my home to give an estimate and explain their doors, features, etc. He spent around 2 hours thoroughly going over what my needs and expectations were, how their products are made, different options, etc. He brought the price down quite a bit including a percentage taken off since I am a Sam's Club member. I was very pleased with the details which he explained thoroughly to me. When he stated it takes 1 1/2 hours to do this job, I was surprised. In truth, it took 6 hours for the installer to do the entire process. Plus as a part of that time, the installer installed 3 smoke detectors in my 3 bedrooms for free. This is a service they do for their customers. The installer did an excellent job. He was quiet and worked steadily for 6 hours. He paid close attention to the details. He didn't like how the screen door slid on the track and chose to order a new one to be delivered later to replace the one that he brought. The new one moves with almost no effort as it glides along the door's track. He spent time doing an excellent cleanup even though it was pouring rain during most of the last hour of work when he was doing much of the inside work. When the new screen door came, there was another small issue I had noticed - when I opened the patio door all the way, it rubbed just a little for part of the way over. Rudy fixed it but didn't have a long enough piece to do the work as well as I wanted it to be done as I pay close attention to details. Therefore, he came a second time to bring a thin piece of edging to place as a shimmy to help since there was only very slight bowing in the window which he stated happens sometimes due to how windows are standing in transit or storage etc. It wasn't a big deal but in the end Rusco took care of this, and I am very pleased with the entire job. I had ordered the vinyl HoneyOak woodgrain finish for the inside of the patio door, and it looks great! I am pleased that there is no painting or refinishing that needs to be done or wood deterioration like my old patio door.
Description of Work: Rusco replaced my patio door.

I had a bad experience with them. We did not get the window we were looking at. We did not expect the windows to be inside the old fashioned way, so we wanted that replaced. In the process of taking out the old one somehow my house has become colder. They are supposed to be UV protector windows. Almost every single window they have done leaks. The interior molding of the window leaks. I just had a leak on one window before they did the work, but now all the windows leak. I had an absolutely terrible experience. The windows were supposed to be super insulated and double paned. I called them to say that I had ice formed on the inside of the window they told me that my house was too humid. We don’t even own a humidifier. The price They charged was terrible as well. It was very expensive. I am spending more money on heating that I used to before I used them. I will not even recommend them to my worse enemies.
Description of Work: We used Minnesota Rusco to replace the windows.

Member, You had the opportunity at the time of purchase for full frame replacements. It would have cost significantly more but the option is always available and our sales staff is trained to offer both. The majority of consumers do purchase replacements due to the cost. As to the condensation...it is not a condition of windows. It is always a condition of the home and you do not need to have a humidifier to have high humidity. You can blame our company all day long but in the end you must do something to lower your humidity levels or you may possibly end up with significant wood rot inside your walls. I can help you (at no cost) to locate the reason for your high humidity so you can solve the problem. Any expert will tell you that windows do not create condensation. If you want my expertise and or advise please give me a call. I am confident we can find the cuplrit. Most solutions to the problem have to do with HVAC system adjustments or inexpensive add ons. We don't offer any of those services but have recommended many solutions to homeowners over the years. Please get over blaming Rusco and fix your problem before you have more damage! Jay

My existing windows have rotten spots (outside lower corners). I have been looking for energy star rated horizontal slider/glider full frame replacement vinyl windows at a decent price installed by someone reputable. Minnesota Rusco sells and install (without sub contractors) Thermal Industries windows. The window itself seemed fairly solid. I liked it quite a lot actually. The representative came out to give me the estimate for 6 (101 < UI < 109) full frame replacement windows. The window looked great to me, the rep said it was U-factor .25 which was way better than I was aiming for (was happy with just .30), and the warrenty was awesome (30 year, fully transferrable to one additional owner, including labor and materials). If there is a problem with the window, they deal with the manufacturer if need be (I don't have to call the manufacturer ever). The rep said they were BBB A+ rated with 8 closed complaints and Angieslist A rating. They have been in business since 1955. Sounded pretty good to me. They gave me a price on the Sellebrity 700 series windows of $12,000. Ummm'yeah no. That's $2000 per window! But there was a one time opportunity (gag) to get the windows for $9000. Yeah'still more than I want to pay. Asked if they had any other options or possibilities to make the windows cheaper, i.e. could I install the interior trim on my own'he said there was nothing and the trim is included. He called the owner and got the price down to $8000 but the deal was only good that night (nice). I decided to accept (3 days to back out of the deal). Next day, I do a little research. The windows are NOT U-factor .25, they are .30, confirmed with with the representative. So, right there'irritating. BBB does show A+ but as I was looking another complaint came in, bringing them up to 9. Checked out AngiesList, B rating due to pushy sales staff. Big suprise there. Hmmm...Research showed that the windows themselves are pretty top of the line, so that was fine. Still based on all I found and the final price (still too high for me, really), I emailed back and said no, I'll be cancelling. The representative emailed me back and suddenly they do have another option that will lower the cost by about $500 per window. Bringing the estimate down to $5000. It's the EuroWeld 510 series. Which actually has nearly identical NFRC ratings to the 700 series, difference seems to be in Triple Wall vs. Double Wall Slide rails, the look of the window (the 700 series has this picture frame thing going for it'looks a lot nicer from the inside), and the screen setup (the 700 series has it in a track'very sturdy deal). I'm now irritated with the representative, but still drawn to the company. It's a good window (the 510 series), the warranty is still amazing, A+ on BBB is still good, B on Angie's List is fine'but...my good sense finally kicked in and I decided to call it quits. Quite frankly, this is not the way I do business. It's taken me a while and many, many estimates, but I finally got an estimate that I'm happy with. Another company, Universal Windows Direct, happens to also not use subs, has the same warrenty, similarly rated and quality windows and I'm paying $4500 to have them installed. What a relief.

Member, I am happy that you found a company you are happy with which to do business. I am also sorry our representative misspoke and stated our U Value was a 25. We do have two products in the double hung and slider catagories and while they do perform in a similiar fashion, our 510 has a different look and less features which is why it is less money. However, we do not sacrifice energy effeciency in any products that we sell and I am glad you found that out. Don't be too hard on our subcontractors. Ours subcontractors have been with us for many multiple generations and the fact they are subs only means they carry their own insurance, licencing and are business professionals. The inference that they are not as good as employees is unfortunate and not true! We have been serving the Twin Cities since 1955, have a full time service department and complete about 1000 jobs a year. Nine complaints with the BBB over 3 years is actually very good considering they have all been resolved. Nine complaints over 3000 completed jobs is a very good rating. It is unfortunate that neither the BBB nor Angies List takes this into consideration. A small company that does 100 jobs a year and has 3 complaints is actually performing very poorly compared to Rusco. We genuinely do hope all things go well with your project. They left quite a mess. They never cleaned it up. The siding on the house looks good, but we were not impressed with the customer service. They are a good company, but they didn't clean up anything. I wasn't happy with their customer service and professionalism. They would cut siding, and leave the extra material in the yard. The installers were pretty nice, but they were very short with you. They would give you clipped answers.
Description of Work: They did the siding on our house.

Minnesota Rusco did the windows that they could. They hiredd a subcontractor to do two piano windows. The subcontractor got mad at me and refused to do the work. Then Minnesota Rusco did not follow through with getting a subcontractor to install my windows like the contract said and they tried to give me $200 instead. I ended up having to hire an attorney to try to get my money back because they would not get someone to install my two piano windows. The whole experience was never resolved to my satisfaction. Within the first year there was a problem with the foam lining that interfered with window opening and closing. They then charged me $50 to come back out and fix the faulty window they installed and it still is not fixed.

There is another more accurate side to the above complaint. The truth is Minnesota Rusco signed a contract with the member in October of 2000… not 2009 that she states in her complaint. We are deeply saddened that the member continues to be dissatisfied. The fact is we did everything we could to resolve the issue of not being able to provide 2 of the 11 windows that were originally contracted for. Sadly, in the end, we had to have an attorney resolve the dispute which was finalized and agreed to in writing by both parties in August of 2001. Despite the legal dispute, Minnesota Rusco continued to provide excellent service to the 9 windows we did complete to the customers’ satisfaction. I can only assume that she is still angered by the small service fee of $50 that was charged back in 2005 to replace some weather stripping. While she is entitled to her complaint it is very deceiving and disingenuous to make it look like it her project was recent. We have sent a copy of our original invoice from March of 2001 to Angies List showing the correct date. Our hope is that they will correct the error! Minnesota Rusco has been in business for over 56 years and have always looked to exceed the expectations of the over 500 projects we do each year. On occasion we make mistakes and go to great lengths to make things right with the consumer. However, we occasionally come across a customer who is unreasonable and just can not be satisfied. Fortunately this is very rare! We wish the member all the best and hope she feels better after attempting to smear a very reputable company in the Twin Cities that employs up to 50 full and part time employees and provides good work to a similar number of quality contractors, some who have worked with us for 2nd and 3rd generations. While we are not perfect, we work diligently to resolve the occasional issue that may arise in a remodeling project to the customers’ complete satisfaction. Sincerely Submitted, Jay Deems Owner/GM

The redeeming factor in my unpleasant experience with this company was found when I called the main office after Greg hung up on me. I spoke to Mike (I believe) who explained he was a co-owner and apologized for the negative experience I had with the Company. He explained that Greg was commission payed and that's probably why he lost his cool with me. I was not obligated to take the project and I was pleased that it was handled professional from a managerial standpoint. I wasnt going to write about Rusco on Angies List initially, however I felt obligated to do so since I repeatedly asked them to remove my name from their calling list. On two occasions Greg himself called and left messages promoting specials that they were running on windows and siding. I spoke to two others also that called for different promotions, the last of which told me they had my information from last year's state fair and wanted to offer a visit to evaluate new projects. I told him to lose my number.... hopefully its the last of it from them! These guys are relentless in pursing your business, in my opinion, to the point where it is unpleasant. My recommendation: Get other bids, do your homework prior, and don't get suckered in by "save 40% if you act now" BS. Its nonsense.
Description of Work: I ran into Rusco at the MN State Fair and got suckered in by the sweepstakes they had. Soon after I recieved a call from Greg, a sales guy who would end up ruining it for this company in my book. He showed up to give an estimate on time and showed me all the Siding options available. I felt very pressured to make a decision on the spot about whether or not I wanted Rusco to reside the house. Having not received any bids from other contractors, I reluctantly signed a work order on the condition that I would look into the finances and get back to Greg about whether or not I was ready to proceed. Sure enough, after evaluating my financial situation and getting an idea from other contractors - Rusco came in several thousand $$ high on their bid (which Greg eye-balled during his short and unpleasant visit). Beyond that, the financing options were not a good deal at all. I was in no position to create unnecessary debt on a house that really didn't even need to be resided at the time anyway--- Needless to say, thats not what Greg wanted to hear: When I told Greg over the phone that I was no longer interested after evaluating the project and financial details he became IRATE and insisted that I had already signed paperwork and since the loans would be approved I was obligated to take the project!! The conversation got to the point where I was rudely hung up on.

I am sorry you had a bad experience with one of our sales representatives. It is rare that someone looses his temper and it should never happen with a customer. I am glad Mike handled your issue professionally. I apologize your experience was so negative. We have been around for over 50 years and at times make big mistakes. We are still around because we take each one seriously and handle it most time in a professional manner.
