Mike's Power Wash has served the West Twin Cities Metro area since 1998. We are dedicated to preserving and beautifying a variety of surfaces - from the peak of your roof to the end of your driveway. We specialize in Pressure Washing, Cedar/Asphalt Roof Cleaning and Seal, House wash, Soft Wash, Anti Algae treatments, Deck Clean and Stain, Spring/Fall Gutter Cleaning, Fence Clean & Seal, Roof Snow and Steam Process Ice Dam Removal, and other General pressure washing. I am a pressure washer by trade and I do pressure washing/steaming all year round so I have full time year round experience in my field. Description of Work: New townhomes, 15 decks cleaned and stained, price was competitive and entire process went great. Only issue was the need for a second coat of stain, which Mike's worked with mfg and our association on and got quality right. Will use them again in Spring for second half of project.

Thanks for the review. The Cabot oil stain product used for the decks is recommended for decks being sealed for the first time. We have used the product several times and the product works correctly and is beautiful however in this situation the residents felt the decking needed more product and color which was possibly due to the condition of the wood used for the decking by the builder or the environmental conditions, causing the stain to look uneven. There were many knots in the wood and the stain seemed to penetrate more in some areas even though the stain was applied correctly. After communicating with the Cabot technical team and showing them the pictures of the deck, we were advised to lightly apply a second coat and that seemed to even out the color. Unfortunately wood decking with knots in it will look uneven because of the grain and pores of the wood that accept stain differently. As wood weathers and ages, it darkens and the stain will look different on it than new wood being stained the first time. We recommend starting out with a light stain because of the darkening process. Sometimes when people are used to seeing a darker stained deck they may get confused when they see a newer deck with a light stain on it even though the wood is stained and protected. We are glad the second coat helped even out the color in this case and made the deck look a little richer in color. Thanks again.

Description of Work: Before Mike's work, I was certain I needed a new deck. By the time he finished, my deck was brand new! I have never had anyone do such a perfect job on anything! He's truly an artist. The care, the patience, the pride he takes in his work is quite evident. I cannot imagine using anyone else to take care of my deck. And his price is reasonable! And the lady that handles his calls is helpful and lovely. It doesn't get better than this.

Description of Work: After the first big snowstorm my home had many icicles and ice dams forming at the edge. Mike's Power Wash was the first place I tried. Left a message and had a return phone call within half an hour. Mike came out that very afternoon and took all the snow off my room. His time estimate was right on and he also gave me some good advice on how to fix some things to avoid ice dams in the future. He was courteous and professional and I would highly recommend him and will use him again as needed.

Description of Work: I found a coupon on Angie's List for the service. Mike was very responsive, even doing the work even though it was outside his published service area. He always called me to let me know if he wasn't going to make it on the day we previously agreed on. Within a few days he was able to make it out and provide the service. I was asked to only do three hours of work in order to keep the price down for this customer. The customers expected quality of the job suffers when I am not allowed the sufficient time to do a quality complete job. I do the best I can in the time allotted. I try to take care of the most important areas to help stop the leaking but the job is not going to be perfect when there is 5 hours of work to be done on the roof and the customer wants it done in 3. I needed two more hours alone to remove all the ice this customer had. I took off all of the snow on the house part of the roof which was all original snow for the whole season. The snow had to be moved from one side of the roof to the other so that it was not shoveled straight down onto the garage and entryway. That is like shoveling a 35x30 foot driveway the full length, not shoveling side to side or throwing the snow, which is 2 feet deep and doing it on a slant in 90 minutes and I did it without damaging the roof in any way. That's quality work. I removed several feet of ice off the roof where it was leaking and made several channels in another ice dam to help prevent any future leaking. I used the time I had as efficiently as possible to help the customer as much as I could. The member asked me to keep it to 3 hours. When I arrived, the member's wife asked if I could do it in 2 hours, I told her I absolutely could not do it in 2 hours. I try to help people that are under budget constraints but the expectation they have of the outcome of the work is just not realistic when only half of what should be done is accomplished because of the time constraint. I told them I could take off as much as possible in the time allotted and make channels in other areas to work within THEIR request. I try to help people understand what they are asking for so they have appropriate & reasonable expectations when the job is done. When customers ask for half the job to be done, they get what they ask for. I explain things ahead of time so the customer is fully aware of what will happen. The member asked for 3 hours of work and that is exactly what they paid for. The price did not exceed what they expected to pay before the job was started. I did “A” quality work considering what I had to deal with and what I was able to accomplish in 3 hours to help this customer.
