+ -1 moreHad Mike Joyce out to look at wobbly toilet seat and leaking shower/bath faucets. He gave an estimate on hours to do the job and cost of labor/parts. It happened to be late in the day and he needed parts to fix faucets, so we set a time on another day to do the job. No charge for estimate. On the day of the job, Mike was running late and I had not heard from him, so I called. He was running long on the job before me, but had not been able to call me due to technical issues with his phone. We are satisfied with the work. First time since we moved in that our faucets don't leak and glad to know toilet is not an issue. Job took exact time estimated and final bill was inline with the estimate given.
Description of Work: Re-seated wobbly toilet. Fixed leaking shower/tub faucets, replaced inner cartridges.

+ -1 moreProvider didn't return phone calls. I called on a Monday (to the number listed first above), didn't get a call back until Wednesday. I couldn't talk when they called back, so I asked for the best number to contact them, got that and told them I'd call later that night or the next day (Thursday). Called them first thing Thursday morning on the preferred number they gave me, no returned call (and it's now five days later). I understand if the company is busy, but not returning calls is unprofessional. If you have enough work to ignore / turn away prospects, state that on your voicemail message so people can move on and find another provider.

+ -1 moreMike called me and said he would be 1/2 hour early. He arrived with his assistant and installed a new toilet, sink, faucets, etc. Additional parts were needed for the bathtub. He promptly ran out to a plumbing store and got them. He cleaned up everything and even carried up all the boxes from the basement. He is fair and honest and really a nice guy. I recommend him highly, and will use him again.
Description of Work: I gave my bathroom in the basement a face lift. Mike installed a new sink, faucets, and new face plates in the bathtub.

I even had him look at other issues that I worried about but were not broken, thinking that I would be writing him a check for his hour of time. He is a very kind, ethical, and fair professional. He is very knowledgeable and we will definitely call him again if something needs to be repaired plumbing-wise. He re-checked under the sink before he left just to be sure that nothing was leaking, and it was dry.
Description of Work: there was a lot of water dripping from our first floor kitchen to an unfinished area in the basement this morning after I used the kitchen sink. I was worried that we had a pipe leaking and called "My Plumber" after reading the reviews on Angie's List. Mike told me he could be there in a couple of hours. He arrived promptly 2 hours later, and found there was no leak in the pipes, but that the pull out faucet had loosened internally and he tightened it.

+ -1 moreCalled a couple of plumbers and got no response/answering machines. Called My Plumber and got in touch with Mike right away. Mike had some car trouble on the morning of the appointment, but he called me to let me know and got another guy (Kirk) out there asap, maybe 15 minutes later. Over the phone it sounded like the job would be about 2 hours long, but it ended more in the range of 3.5 hours. I was impressed with the care that was taken to make sure each sink was working well before moving on to the next portion of the job. In the end we have two sinks that work much better than they did before, and while plumbing jobs are always expensive, the cost here was not as bad as it could have been.
Description of Work: This was a two-sink job. The first sink, a pedestal sink in the bathroom, was leaking, had a cracked nut on the tailpipe, and ran slow. The plumber replaced the tailpipe and p-trap with a kit I bought at Menards, then located a pinhole leak (!!) in the pop-up drain that I had also purchased at Menards. He replaced the pop-up and then noticed that the drain was still very slow. Snaked the drain pipe, and that sink works great now. For the kitchen sink, the previous homeowner had installed 3/8", flexible copper feed pipes from the basement up to the valves under the sink. The hot water valve no longer worked, and the flexible pipes were very bent. The plumber replaced those pipes with full-size 1/2" pipes and new valves. He thoughtfully installed a 'T' joint in case we decide to change how the dishwasher water is fed. After replacing the pipes he also installed our new faucet, removing the old one.

+ -1 moreThe valve to turn off/on one of our outside faucets was leaking in our basement whenever we went to turn it on. We'd tried to fix it ourselves (changing washers and the entire valve) without luck - it kept dripping which made one of our outside faucets useless. We called MY PLUMBER and he came out on the same day, even showing up early when one of his jobs ended sooner than he'd planned. He checked out the valve, let us know he could replace it with a newer style that would be less likely to leak and easier to turn off/on in the future. He made the repairs and tested the outside faucet. He was done in less than an hour. Now we can use all of our outside faucets again (and I can keep my garden green this summer - yay)!
Description of Work: Replaced the inside on/off valve for one of the outdoor faucets to our home. He replaced an old valve with a newer style that is less likely to leak or need repairs.

Description of Work: Our toilet kept running, we couldn't get the flapper to seal properly. Mike was friendly, prompt and professional. He quickly fixed the problem and tested it several times to make sure the problem did not recur. Our initial appointment was for noon, he was 15 minutes late and I called to find out he was delayed at a previous job. I was disappointed that he hadn't called proactively to reschedule, but he arrived early for our new appointment and quickly and efficiently fixed the problem.

+ -1 moreHe did all of this work with a good sense of humor, was professional, knowledgeable, cleaned up the water coming out of the old dishwasher, wiped the kitchen floor down, took the old dishwasher outside and took it to the recycle place for us as he was going there with another item. The dishwasher works like a charm, no leaks, no problems!
Description of Work: Mike came and installed our new Bosch dishwasher. This became quite the complex process because the old water line was in the wrong place for the hook-up so he had to cut that one off and seal it and then run a new one. There also wasn't easy access to get this work done. He also had to do minor carpentry work so that the new lines would fit and reach through the existing cabinets to under the sink. To help us out for any necessary future work he connected a shut off valve for the water supply to the dishwasher under the sink.
