He was very professional. We did not do any work because he was not able to repair the driveway and the only thing that could be done was to replace the driveway and we were not ready to do that.
Description of Work: He took a look at our driveway to see if there was any way to fix rock pops.

It turned out precisely as John described, looks just perfect. All the work was explained beforehand and then executed precisely as described. Timing was very good, with the weather almost cooperating Jphn was able to start the work within the week from the onitial estimate and finish it within the space of three days (again, weather was a factor). Never there was a moment when I did not know what John was goint to do and when. A+ owerall!
Description of Work: John replaced the main dorway sidewalk, badly sagging driveway apron and also one of the adjacent drivay slabs that tilted and was not draining in the right direction - the fact that he pointed out and explained to me in details. The same slab would connect with the new sidewalk so everyting would be nicely aligned when all is finished.

Friday night I went to my basement to do laundry. I noticed that I had water pooled up in front of my dryer. It was coming up through the floor. My friends helped me fix the problem temporarily. On saturday, the water was still coming in, so I called John. He was able to reschedule a few things to come over immediately. He went around the back of my house and found that we had a landscaping problem. Once the snow melted, all the water pooled under the corner of my house. He also found that our gutter was attached incorrectly, and was not allowing water to flow away from the house. He explained to me how the gutter could be fixed. He had to leave to go to an appointment. Fifteen minutes later, it was still raining, and the water was coming in. John showed up again to fix the gutter for me that same day. He only asked for $20 for the material he purchased, and whatever else I thought was fair. He took time out of his schedule to help me, and fixed my gutter problem!

Called John in June for a quote to replace the sidewalk/steps to the front door, garage floor and might as well do the driveway so everything is done. He was out shortly after the call and put together a quote on the spot. John and crew showed up about three weeks later and began the demo and installation. By the end of day 3 all the work was complete and 250 sq yds of concrete had been placed. I'm an project manager/inspector for municipal construction so I've have 40 years of experience with concrete flat work. John know his job and the final project shows it. It's been a few months since the work was completed and everything still looks great. You won't go wrong having this company do your next project.

John answered my call on a Sunday afternoon. He was able to schedule us right away. He came out to our house for the estimate & answered all our questions patiently. The estimate was exactly what we paid- no surprises. He was always right on time and finished the job in only 3 days. The steps look beautiful. The only unusual thing was that he asked us to get the permit. I got it from the city office, gave it to John to complete, and brought it back to the city office the next day. It was strange that he asked us to do it when he could submit it online himself. But in the end, everything worked out great, and it didn't slow down the process at all.

The process was thoroughly explained, the work was done as expected, and the foreman can out multiple times to discuss the process and our needs. I got four estimates for apron replacement and they were the second highest. I decided to go with them because they were the most attentive, gave a detailed explanation of what they would do and were willing to return to my house twice before the job was completed to go over possible solutions, discuss what I was expecting and what they would do. Work was done well. Area was cleaned up extremely well and they pulled a bush that was in the way at my request without an additional charge.
Description of Work: Our existing asphalt driveway was sunken by the garage. Concrete Builders installed a new 4'x18' concrete apron and removed a bush that was in the way.

I believe I have already reflected our total satisfaction with the work this company did. In my opinion, they not only did what we requested and they contracted for, but they went "above and beyond the call", so to speak.
Description of Work: Removal and take-away of old, beat-up driveway (it was a long one, with uneven grades), complete (and complex) layout of new driveway, especially with a view to dealing with potential drainage problems, thorough and careful grading of new driveway configuration, including liberal application of base materials, and effective, meticulous pouring and finishing of new driveway, with frequent checks by the owner to make sure all was done in accordance with his original plans and our needs (including the application of additional concrete where needed (at no cost to us) , to compensate for unstable sub-soil conditions.. A "curing" material was applied, and the owner came back in about two months to apply a final sealant to the concrete. The owner supervised, and took great interest in, every aspect of the job, from his initial inspection and evaluation of our needs to final completion of the job. As a retired attorney, I tend to be very wary of anyone I hire to work in and about my residence, but this company and its owner and, without question, the best I have ever seen. The company and the work they did were first class, Their price (including terms of payment) were most reasonable, and the workk was done in a most timely and agreeable manner. These people are, to put it simply, the absolute BEST at what they do.

My garage floor had some holes that formed around the garage door, allowing rodents to enter under the door. Mr. Reichert came and gave me an estimate to fix the damaged area, did not try to over-sell or push any undesired work, even though the resulting job was very small compared to his other work. In spite of the small job I had requested, he planned the work around his other jobs, working while I was away at my own job, and doing a very neat and professional job. First cutting out the old concrete, putting in rebar and then laying the concrete in sections to prevent cracking (things I wouldn't have known about being unskilled in this area). Finally, as he stated he would, he contacted me a while later and returned to seal the new concrete. This is a small business guy who runs the business and does much of the work himself. I was very pleased with the entire experience and would call him again in a minute.

John at Concrete Builders was great to work with, I'd recommend him without hesitation! We had 3 companies give estimates on the replacement work we needed done, all by companies rated highly on Angies list. John's estimate was not the lowest of the three, but he offered to match it since they were close. My reason for going with him was that the guy is just so darned nice and personable, he could do the work right away, and he has worked with the company we had doing driveway paving work right after him, so felt comfortable having him oversee the timing of things. He was really thorough in explaining any possible extra costs that might arise, just so we knew about them ahead of time, but none were needed. Quite a crew of guys showed up for the cement removal and replacement. They were really careful not to damage the lawn or adjoining flower beds, and the entire crew was very polite and friendly. The completed sidewalk and patio look FANTASTIC!!!!!!! I watched as they were doing the finishing work on it, they made several passes over it to make sure the surface was completely smooth, with no lines from the trowel thing they used. He also flared out the last section of the sidewalk, and made it a little wider as it went around the corner of the house, to make for a more comfortable transition. This was something that I wouldn't have thought of, but it is really nice to have it. Great guy, great workers, I'd hire him again in a hearbeat!

I really like this guy. He knows his stuff. For several years I had water infiltrating behind my concrete steps and causing one of the stairs to crack and crumble. The steps are next to a half height brick wall that holds the hand railing and makes repairs complicated. I tried patching it myself and the results only lasted a year at best (and looked amateurish.) I called one company who came out and said "too fancy, too much work." I called John who came out and gave an honest appraisal. I know the fancy curved steps were poured as one continuous form but the thought of replacing the whole stairway (not to mention the cost) was prohibitive. John said he could "cut out" a few steps, recreate the original form and re-pour new steps. He quoted a high price, but as he told me, he'd do it right. And he did. It took a crew of 3 to cut out and excavate the old steps (including cutting the old rebar), remake the wooden forms, then co-ordinate with the large concrete truck for the new pour, and after 5 hours the 2 extra crew men went home while John stayed 3 more hours to do all the finish work. John came back a week later to apply an acid finish to try and match the color of the old concrete to the new. A year later and the re-pour is hardly noticable.

It went terrific! First off, when called for the estimate, they were quite prompt and gave, at my request, an estimate with several options, so we could decide what we wanted and know exactly how much it would be. Once we sent the 1st half with the signed contract, they called with a week to say they would be on the job the next day. In that first day they completely removed the old steps. There were about a dozen steps, so while not a huge job, neither was it a small one. Regardless, they did it quickly and professionally. Next day, the poured, and finished. The new steps looked perfect. They roped them off for several days, and eventually came by to remove the barriers, and the job was complete. The steps look great! This is my second time around with the company, and the first time was exactly the same in terms of professionalism and quality. I would recommend them without reservation.

The work was done on time, and he did a great job on the garage floor.
Description of Work: My garage door floor needed repair under the garage door. John gave me 3 different estimates for the job: one to just repair the problem, one to replace about half of the garage floor to remove all the cracks in the cement, and one to replace the entire garage floor. He gave me 3 detailed estimates and the approximate time it would take to complete all 3. I live in a townhouse and I needed to the job to be completed in a specific time frame for the association management company. The estimates were very reasonable, and I chose to have the entire garage floor replaced.

John responded quickly to our request for an estimate. He spent a lot of time talking with us about the options for the project and provided detailed information on what he would do and what he recommended we not do. John has a very professional, but friendly approach to his customers and we felt confident he could do the job at a fair price. Once we signed the contract, John was able to schedule his crew to complete the work within approximately one week. They arrived in the morning when promised and completed the job by early afternoon. John's crew took extra care to avoid damaging nearby plants and shrubs and did a meticulous job with clean-up (even sweeping flowerbed mulch back in place). John's business card reads "Our Personal Commitment to Quality" and our experience indicates that he and his crew live up to these words.

I received a referral from a colleague for concrete work by John Reichert and Concrete Builders Incorporated and I am so thankful that we followed up on that referral. It was a pleasure working with John throughout the entire process. His proposal for the project was clear and concise and right in line with the other, far less detailed proposals that we had previously obtained. Terms of payment were extremely reasonable (small down payment at signing of proposal, half of remaining balance due upon start of the project, remainder of balance due upon completion). He and his team worked quickly. Our yard was always cleared of construction tools and debris at the end of each day. Great care was taken not to disturb our landscaping any more than necessary. It was a great experience from start to finish and we are thrilled with the quality of the work and thoughtful attention to detail which are reflected in the finished product. Without hesitation I would recommend John Reichert and Concrete Builders Incorporated to my best friends and closest family members. In fact, I already have!

We had needed to have some repairs done in the front of our house for years. A small section of our garage slab was cracked, and the concrete apron in front of our garage was simply poured onto the asphalt. In addition, a small section of sidewalk and stoop leading to our entryway had shifted and pulled away from the house. John made a prompt visit to provide an estimate, and in the process taught me a lot about the right way to fix our issues. Based on our budget, he suggested what we could get done now, saving other parts for later or other contractors if needed. However, the work he was quoting was only quoted for doing it the correct way...he was never going to compromise the quality of his work to cut costs, which I very much appreciated. He wasn't interested in convincing us to have him do all of the work, he was more interested that it was done properly, regardless of how se had it done. As it turned out, he was able to come very near our budget number to complete the entire job. We accepted his quote and he was very accommodating in the scheduling and quick completion of the job. The work was completed in less than 8 hours with no significant disturbance to anything else on our property. The project turned out great in every little detail. I couldn't be happier...thanks John!

the price estimate was the best we received. John did the repair work, slightly sloping the sidewalk away from the garage for drainage. he also curved the final segment for the walking traffic pattern. we were thrilled with the result but the most impressive response we got yesterday when a man from an asphalt/concrete company came to give an estimate on repairing our asphalt driveway. he instantly noticed the new cement work and asked who did it. we told him. he went into great detail on what a quality job it was - this from a cement company competitor!
Description of Work: we needed concrete blocks replaced on the garage wall and three segments of concrete sidewalk replaced . there had been significant water damage due to the sidewalk sloping in towards the garage wall. John came and gave us an estimate and carefully described what he would do to fix everything.

John was one of the few companies that would work with me on this project so late into the season. John came over and did some extensive troubleshooting as to where water was entering my basement. He was very patient and knowledgeable. He was able to offer some hopeful solutions based on his experience and I went with his recommendations. He ordered the limestone and timed everything to finish before the first really cold weather arrived in December. The finished ledge on my front porch is such an improvement and up until this time no one that had looked at this situation ever figured out that this could be the best insurance of no more water coming in. John's skill level is very high. While I was looking more for a concrete/water problem company I could not have been luckier to have found John on Angie's List as he is also a mason. Highly recommend John for any concrete or masonry needs you have. His price was fair and he was prompt and very nice to work with. Communication with John was excellent which is seldom the case these days.

A+ service start to finish. Provided bid on project and gave recommendation to wait on another project (didn't try to sell us on work that wasn't essential). We needed to do the concrete work ASAP due to weather, and he worked dawn to dusk over the weekend to get it done. I paid him in full when the slab was poured, and no issues at all with him coming back to check on the drying process, and again later to seal the cement. Project was big and looks great. Superb job, I wish all projects went this smoothly and professionally.
