Varsity Painters

Not only was the first exterior painting of our house excellent and performed extraordinarily well, but early this spring I called to have them do the touch up painting covered under the warranty. Due to the terrible spring weather, they assured me that they would do the work later on in the summer. In mid August, I received a call to arrange for the work. Steve came out to inspect what needed to be done and to secure the custom paint color. We set a time for the crew to come, and they were exceptional. Without question, the work completed and the service provided by Varsity Painters was exceptional.

We reached out to receive a bid from Varsity Painters, where they came out to bid our house for popcorn ceiling removal, trim painting, and some wall painting. Even though they knew we had a quick 2-week turnaround on when we closed on our house to getting certain phases of the project completed, they assured us that they would have a quote to us the next day for comparison and noted that they could even start the project the following night. After numerous voicemails and apologies for not sending the quote, 5 days later we did not receive the quote. We decided to go with another painter.

Very professional, excellent job. They matched the color for me and took care of everything. The project was delayed due to weather but that can't be helped. Very fair price, would hire again.

They picked exactly what I wanted. The price and their knowledge of the product that I chose made me use them.

I couldn't be more pleased with the work that was done. Although we originally contracted just for exterior painting, we were so happy with the results that we asked for a price on the interior walls, as well. Joe made a very fair bid and his team went right from the outside and into the inside of the house to finish the work in time for an important retirement party scheduled for the next week.

The quote was professional and competitive, not the highest or lowest. In the end, after interviewing 6 painters, I have awarded the painting job to Varsity Painters to be started in July. They had the best mix of products, prices, and techniques. Most importantly, of the many questions I asked during all the interviewing they had the best answers and understanding of why I was asking the questions. I also felt very comfortable with talking to Steve. I'll report back after the job is complete with the final results of the transaction. (Their great ratings on Angie's List and Super Service award wins also positively affected my decision to hire them.)

They were great, showed up on time, did the job as described. There were some bumps in our schedule and they were more than readily available and ready to accommodate. I would give them 5/5 stars.

The work was very well done. Joe, the owner, is very consultive. He offers his suggestions and truly listens to your feedback. He is highly responsive, prompt, and personable. I will be hire Varsity again in the future.

It was awesome. Joe came out and provided an estimate with lots of ideas for us. Once we were closer to picking a color, he came and put up 2-3 different colors in our desired shade so we could hone in on the exact one that would work for our home. The painters were efficient and nice. We did have to be flexible with our schedule - since they were quite busy and with the weather tentative at times. They used good quality paint, were very clean and orderly, and the service from Joe was fantastic. I would use them again for sure.

Everything was outlined and done as explained. Had a minor issue that was rectified the day after it was reported with one phone call. They were thorough in the estimate and covered many options and completed everything we discussed.

Very well. Owners were available for questions throughout the process. The actual workers had a lead worker as contact, although it was a bit difficult to at first determine "who" that contact was. I had the work done mid summer and the weather was unusually hot, but the workers were very dedicated to getting the job done quickly. The work done was good and I am enjoying the new look!

Steve worked within our schedule and he did an excellent job helping us pick an appropriate paint color. the crew was hard working and did an excellent job of cleaning up when finished. they even put back up some mylar strips we hung on the side of the house to scare woodpeckers away. Would definitely recommend tthem.

What sets these guys apart is their honest owner. This will be the 5th time our house has been painted but the only time it was done correctly without corners cut. They know what they are doing and the owner comes daily to oversee work. Also, the whole house did not need to be done and they were willing to scrape, paint and warranty only that which needed to be done. This helped in the pricing. Next time need exterior painting done they are the company I will use. We have had so many unpleasant dishonest incompetent exterior painters that is was a relief to finally find an excellent company.

They were great. Very professional, fast, and a well done job. The team was courteous and efficient with everything from the initial estimate, to the cleaning and preparation, to the painting and clean up.

Estimator was willing to break down project into components so we could assess which aspects we wanted to hire and which ones we might complete ourselves. The crew did an great job of maintaining a clean worksite and controlling dust and chips that could potentially contain lead. The painters did a great job of cutting clean edges in their work. In a couple of places the crew either spilled or splashed paint on our stucco, which they cleaned up OK but because stucco absorbs paint there's a hint of of color on our cream stucco in a couple of places that will never come out. They deducted $100 from the job to make us feel better. Overall, they did a good job of not damaging the gardens that surround the house. A week after the job was completed I noticed a cobweb-like white leaching on the west facia boards. The company responded to my question quickly with why it happened, that no damage was resulting, and how it would easily clean up. The staff and crew were always friendly and responsive.

Had time on the schedule- so they came a few days early; skilled painters worked with difficult-to-remove wallpaper in one room. Were careful with furniture and details of painting. Friendly; well-supervised staff. Estimate of job was honored. We are pleased with the work . THANK YOU, Joe and team!

It went Great! They did a very thorough job prepping and painting. They were great about masking off non painting areas, and they cleaned up thoroughly. I'd like to also add, that I was originally going to paint the garage myself, but because of extenuating circumstances, I could only get it partially prepped. I then asked if they could do the painting. They only charged me for the painting and no prep, even though they ended up doing a more thorough job of prepping than I was able to. Steve was very professional prompt and easy to communicate with. Great work!

When scheduling the work to be done I receieved a date of October 1st. On the morning of October 1st I received a call from the supervisor that the painter assigned to the job had an emergency and could not work that day but we rescheduled for the next day, October 2. The morning of October 2 came and by 11:00 I called and left message that the painter was a no-show. It wasn't until 24 hours later that I received a voicemail stating that there had been a miscommunication and that they could complete the job at my earliest convenience. I have hired another contractor and the work has been completed.

We are very happy customers who would highly recommend Varsity Painters and Steve's team lead by Alberto. Steve came out to give us the estimate, which we got the same day, and told us it would be about a month before work would start and that he would contact us as it got closer. After a month went by and I hadn't heard from him, I contacted Steve and said I was expecting to hear from him and when would they be starting. Steve was very apologetic and explained that they were delayed because of the weather but that we were on the schedule for the following week. When Steve and his team arrived the following week we walked around the house to confirm all the trim, doors, and windows to be painted. Steve also pointed little touch up spots on our exteriror that they would take care of, including removing old hardware that wasn't being used and painting under that. Afterwards we sat down and went through paint colors for everything. I told Steve we were still undecided about the deck stain and he gave his recommendations and said we could try as many colors as needed until we found the right one. Then Alberto and his team of 3 other guys went to work. Each day Alberto and his team arrived early (7:30-8am) and worked late (5-6pm), and Alberto always kept me updated and would tell me when he was leaving for the day, which was nice so I didn't have to wonder if they were coming back or done for the day. Everyone on Steve and Alberto's team was very friendly and always cleaned up after themselves. It took about a week for the work to be completed. Steve and I then did a final walk-around the house to make sure their work was up to my standards and that we were happy. We were very impressed with their attention to detail. Will definitely use Varsity Painters in the future!

Cleaning and scraping done with attention to mildew spots. Windows and hardware taped well. Actual painting was done in 4 days. Crew worked well together; focused on job. Cleaned up each day before leaving and at project completion. Responded to our questions and handled the concerns as they went along. Lots of detail to paint on deck - did thorough job. Project went very well. Concerns were quickly addressed and resolved without question. Joe was always very quick to respond to calls and kept the painting crew on track.

On time, very good paint job, good coverage, cleanup good. Had to come back to finish a couple missed items, but took care of promptly. Beat a couple other quotes I received, good value for the price. Would hire again.
