Joe Perry came and discussed our entire project before we started. I told him what colors I liked since we wanted to change from a tan to a green color and he showed me ideas and then painted a couple of samples on the house to help us decide which one we liked better. He was super friendly and easy to talk to and work with. Curt was our supervisor on the job and he did a wonderful job answering any questions and calling me back quickly. The crew was fabulous! The whole process was wonderful and we would choose Varsity again for any future painting needs. They have done several homes in our neighborhood that all look great. We have received so many compliments from people on our house too.

The crew took a great deal of care to prepare the 70-year old wooden siding, were very detailed and professional, and finished the job over a period of three days. The finished work is beautiful, My neighbors have been coming by to admire it. I wholeheartedly recommend Joe, Kurt, Javier and the rest of their crew. Varsity Painters know what they are doing, use excellent crew people and complete the work on time. Expert, professional, and responsive to questions and concerns. I will be using Varsity Painters for my indoor painting jobs.

Part of my house is relatively new and in good shape. And then there's the 100 year old section. They had to do lots of scraping and sanding on the old parts before they could begin to paint. They did a great job. I would hire them again. I did spend a little extra for Duration paint and for a warranty.

I found Varsity Painters through Angie's list and was impressed by the reviews. I left a message via Angie's list and received a very timely response from Joe. Joe met us at our home and took the time to understand what we wanted and the colors in which we were interested. Based on that he sent us recommended colors. We were unsure of the color we wanted so samples were painted on our house for us to view at different times of the day. Three days before the painting began, a crew pressure washed the house. The day before the painting began the windows were taped. Before the crews arrived we received a call to confirm they would be at our home. They were always on time and very professional. The painting took only two days. That was two coats and included all of the trim, gutters, and the front door. Joe's crew was extremely professional and I was very impressed with the quality of the work. They communicated the progress and let us know when we could expect the job to be complete. Joe stopped by the day the house was taped and the second day of painting to check on the progress and talk with me about everything. We've received several compliments about the new look and I always happily share who the contractor was. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Varsity Painters.

Entire experience was excellent. From the quote visit from Joe to the site cleanup after the job was completed, working with Varsity Painters was a great experience. We were especially impressed with the amount of prep work that they did on the house. Any questionable area was thoroughly brushed and sanded by the crew. Joe even allowed us to use the brand of paint we wanted on our home without any additional charge. We plan on contacting Joe again this winter for some interior room painting.

We had not painted the exterior of our house in a long time, I was seriously considering residing the entire house it was that bad. The prep work done by the great crew at Varsity made the house look new-it is amazing. The quality of the work is great, the crew took their time, had great communication and took time to do excellent clean-up of the worksite daily. We will be using Varsity for our interior project this winter, no questions asked!

Varsity did a great job on painting my interior. they arrived a bit early (which I liked) to do the walkthrough. They completed the entire job in a day, which was amazing considering all the prep work they had to do. i appreciated the care they took in covering my furniture and new carpet in plastic.

everything went great...except: all the paint chips from the scrapping were not cleaned up properly.

The Varsity Painters did a fantastic job painting the side of my house and staining my deck! I had some stain drip on my black spindles (from a previous staining job not performed by Varsity Painters), and they were able to meticulously tape off all around the spindles and paint them black again! They look awesome and they power washed and sanded my deck thoroughly and then stained it. Everything was cleaned up afterwards, and they even left the extra stain and paint for me! Great job, will definitely hire them again! Reasonable price as well!

Project took a week. The crew did an excellent job. the area was cleaned up after each day. the forman visted the site each day and kept the project on task. I would highly recommend them .

Varsity Painters were professional, quick and clean. We signed a contract with them in July 2014, and they were booked into the middle of September. We had really wanted to get the job done early so they even let us put a clause in that stated if they had a cancellation we would take the spot no matter the day or time. They showed up on a Thursday in August and were done by the following Monday. They respected my plants and newly laid mulch, and they cleaned up after themselves each day. We had to be out of town for a few days during the project. When we came back on Tuesday they called to see how we liked the work. And when we noticed our sliding door wasn't completely painted (because it had been locked while we were gone) they came back over that same day and fixed it. I highly recommend this company and would work with them again in a heart beat.

THIS is what I expect when I think of professionals! Joe Perry was very thorough, helpful, and personable when meeting with my wife and me for the estimating stage. He asked and answered many questions, listened respectfully, and gave us the sense that he clearly knew what he was doing. When we had narrowed the color choices to three, they swung by and painted three big swatches on the house, which made determining the final selection much easier. When Hector and his crew showed to begin the job, it was apparent this was a crackerjack team in which everyone knew what his role was and got right on with it. They were hardworking, efficient, and showed consistent attention to detail. The job site was cleaned and straightened each evening. Joe came by each day to check in with me and see if I was satisfied and answer any additional questions or make any modifications to our initial agreement. I was told it would take three days to complete the project and that was exactly what it took. The finished job looks fantastic and once again, the precise attention to details is what makes it such a fine piece of work. I highly recommend the outstanding professionals at Varsity Painting.

Recieved an estimate for the painting of the exterior of our house. Contact was quick after I reached out to them and they were able to come out to the house to meet with me shortly thereafter. Their price was higher than other bids recieved and didn't sufficiently cover the PH burn we had on our Hardie siding (and knew about based on conversations with other homeowners in our neighborhood and the paint company). We used another contractor.

Initial bid was very reasonable, solid references within my neighborhood, completed on time and when expected. Quality looks great and they provide a 3-year warranty on their exterior paint service.

I put a down payment on the estimate last fall, which Varsity said wasn't necessary, but wanted to be sure to hold my place for the spring. Steve Melander called as soon as the weather was warm enough, but understood when I said I preferred waiting till dryer weather in July. In a fairly dry stretch in July, Varsity arranged to begin. Here's what I loved: excellent communication. Large team (usually 5 guys) showed up, so the work got done quickly. The guys were v. hard-working, polite, responsive. The lead was Francisco. Good guy--couldn't tell at first how much English he understood, but there were no misunderstandings between us. The work got done quickly, but more importantly, it got done well. We'll see in a year how it's all holding up, but I expect well. Price was the middle bid of three, and it seemed reasonable to me. Areas of improvement: I wished for better protection of soil and plants during sanding and painting, both. The guys had to come back and hand-pick and vacuum up endless amounts of paint chips. I can only wonder how much paint and paint dust, possibly some of it lead-based (house built in 1938) has ended up in the soil all around the house. Lead paint/dust is serious, so Varsity, you should really be very conservative and use TONS of tarping around the paint/sanding areas. The paint trim and porch floor colors were not initially, custom-color matched, as I'd asked (and provided old paint buckets with paint to match to). Preferred colors were no longer made by Benjamin Moore, so they chose the next closest colors, without mentioning to me. However, high praise for quickly righting the mistake (and in all fairness, one paint bucket that I provided for matching confusingly had two, different paint colors listed on it). The important thing to me isn't that a few mistakes were made, but that they were quickly, politely responded to. What a rare treat that is from any contractor. Would reco and would use again.

Great - Steve was easy to talk to, took the time to get details right. Everyone showed up on time as scheduled. Work done efficienlty and quickly.

It went perfectly. Steve came right out for the bid and kept in contact with me when the job could be done. Crew doing the work--On time, neat, always kept area clean that they were working in and easy to get ahold of Steve with questions and concerns--My contact was Steve Melander and he was great and so easy to work with. Crew very receptive and flexible to any additional work that I wanted done. GREAT experience. Used them again for something at my home. Would use them again in the future--DEFINITELY!!

Gave a bid quickly after I called. Easy to get a hold of the representative for the company with any questions or concerns that we had. They showed up on time and kept us informed about what time and day they would be here. Completed the job in a very quick manner and kept the areas around our home clean and always picked up during the job and left everything in an orderly manner when they left for the day. They did the work perfectly. Polite and informative explaining what they were doing and how. Have used them in the past and would definitely use them again. Excellent work!!

This is the second time we have had Varsity Painters do work for us. From the initial contact to follow up after the job was complete, they did a fantastic job and were in communication with us throughout the job. I would recommend them without hesitation.

99% great. The trim work was excellent, some minor problems fixed when found. Crew was great ... professional, friendly, hard-working. The weather, wind-wise, on the deck-varnishing day caused pollen to stick, so it will need to be redone at some point, but what can you do ... It turned windy suddenly. All in all, great experience. Price was a little more than we would have liked to have paid, but less than we other estimates received, so I guess, a reasonable price. It was a lot of work, though, that we would be unable to do ourselves. Would use them again!

They came out and provided the quote shortly after I inquired with them. They were very timely and professional. I just ended up using a different painter. Everything was good. They were responsive.

From initial contact to completion of the job, everything went great. Steve always kept in contact with answers to questions and setting up scheduling. His crew worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves at the conclusion of the job. Very well done !!!

I had two houses done, one with paint, one with stain. Painted house: price estimate was considerably less than an estimate by another highly-rated Angie's List painter. House had a number of holes in the siding and many areas of peeling paint. After power washing, holes were patched and large areas of the siding were sanded to prep for paint. House color was changed slightly but one coat did the job. Very pleased with the appearance now, and satisfied with the quality of the work due to the hours of prep work done. Stained house: price quoted for two coats of owner-provided stain on second-story dormers was very acceptable given the steep roof pitch and slippery cedar shake roof. Added side of the garage to the job later with no problems. Good quality prep work. Steve was a pleasure to work with, and his crew worked well and fast. Both houses were finished in less than a week. I will use this company again without question.

Painters did a great job in prepping the house, caulking and painting. Clean up was well done as well.
