Arrived on time for estimate, did job at estimated time, good bid on job.

These guys were great. We took bids and their fee was competitive. The service from their sales rep was outstanding. He really worked with us on the color choice. They were very thorough with the prep work but fast, professional, and they did a bang-up job.

Knowledgeable person gave estimate. Estimate was very detailed leaving nothing for guesswork including the kind of paint which would be used. We choose to go with the highest quality paint available. They told us they would put their most experienced crew on this job because of the scope of it and the height. They started at the time promised and stayed with the job until it was finished (about 10 days) with a crew of four. Their preparation of the surfaces to be completed was the best that we have seen. They communicated with us regularly during the time the work was being done. We were pleased with their professionalism and their work. The only thing which did not please us was that paint chips from the preparation were left in the gutters. Except for that they did a good job with protecting other surfaces and cleaning up after themselves. We were very pleased with their work.

This was our second job by Varsity Painters. Joe Perry was very prompt in responding by phone and getting out an estimate. To meet our time requirements he scheduled the work very quickly around other jobs in progress. Excellent care of landscaping around deck. Meticulous use of drop cloths and perfect cleanup. Very professional job overall.

We felt they did a very good job. They did what we asked, they did it for the price that we were given as an estimate, and they did it in a timely manner - we would certainly recommend them for other projects, both at our house and for others interested in having their house painted.

Varsity did an incredible job. We bid this work 2 years ago and got a quote from Varsity at that time. We did not have the work done that summer, but remembered them this summer when we wanted to go ahead with the project. We had them requote along with 2 others. We knew we wanted to use them and cooincidentally they were also the lowest and most *detailed* bid. My only complaint is poor communication. They are slow to return calls and E-Mail, and we had to contact them several times to ask them when work would begin after multiple delays. We had a 4 man crew who spent one Saturday from 9 - 2 and then another day and a half sanding after power washing the house. The painting was done quickly after that and the only mishap was a patch of burned grass and one plant which suffered from something that was poured nearby. The painting itself was meticulous. Not a splotch or splatter out of place. Very even, very clean. The crew worked from 7 AM until 7:45 PM most days. The whole job took less than a week. Very pleasant and agreeable crew, although their english was not good. We are very pleased. Our house looks amazing and we believe the paint job will last for years to come! I would not hesitate to recommend them with the caveat about the poor communication. Our house looks great!!

Despite the rainy June, they were flexible in their schedule so that they could complete the work while my pregnant wife was out of town. Pricing was equal to other quotes I received, but included lots of extras - painting the foundation, handrails, mailbox, etc. My only complaint is that a few of my windows were painted shut - one of which I broke while I was trying to free it. So, I had to climb around my house on a ladder to free up the windows AND replace one broken window. At the time of this report - I have not contacted Varsity Painters about the stuck/broken window issue.

They were very good and the painting is absolutely beautiful. They did use dark colors and I was pleased with them.

They did an excellent job. He had really good listening skills and he delivered what he promised within the time line that we needed it. We were having an inspector come out.

Joe and his team were punctual, professional, and overall did a really great job. Joe is very courteous and professional - when he said he was going to call, he called, when he said he'd be over, he came over. His team also did a fantastic job - very polite and high quality work from start to finish. I compared their pricing and Varsity Painters was very competitive. Joe and his team will be our painters for any future work.

The estimate was very thorough. The painting team was profession and kept the site very clean. Despite weather issues, the crew finished promptly and quickly returned for a few minor touchup spots.

I did not like them. They were supposed to come and look at the house. We had a warranty on their work for a year and I called them twice, and they did not come back to check it at all. I don't have time to keep calling and calling them.

It went great. They had awesome communication. The guy that came out for the bid was excellent, no pressure. I got what I paid for. I have actually recommended them to others.

Their quote was high compared to other quotes. My first impression was that he walked straight through my garden to shake my hand. I think if they disrespect my yard before they have my business, I don?t have a good feeling about how they will treat my yard during the job. That and price are reasons that I did not choose them.

I had a couple of people who came out to give me estimates. They were fine and showed up properly. They gave me the estimates, but I chose to use a different company. I might use their services in the future.

All of our interaction was very professional. They listened to the demands that we had and they were respectful of our space.

I was in a time crunch and I needed the work done in a short time frame. I got bids from 4 companies, they weren't the cheapest but they seemed a little more professional than the cheapest bid. There were some bad weather, but since I was still in a time crunch they fit it all in. They did miss a spot so I called them and they came back the same day. They ended up working into the night and in the dark to get it done. It was as of a job as what the weather conditions allowed. If my time frame wouldn't have been so tight and the weather would have cooperated more than it would have been a much better experience. I would rate the quality a "C", but that is more weather related than their own work.

I liked their attention to detail. Compared to some work we had done a few years ago, their price seemed reasonable. I liked the availability of the manager, and being able to talk to him. The demeanor of the people working was good. The only draw back was that they didn't work weekends. There was only one weekend that they worked. It might have been good for them, but not so good for us. It was almost like they worked banking hours.

They were very good at what they did. They were very polite and had cleaned up nicely. We were very happy with them.

They did a phenomenal job. My house is very old and the paint was peeling. They redid and repainted many surfaces. They did not charge me for it. I do not think any other company would stand by their work as they did.

Joe and his team did a great job. He helped me chose a color that I would have never picked otherwise and it looks fabulous.

I was very pleased with my conversation with Joe, the estimator and one of the owners; he recommended a handyman for a couple of projects that I wanted to have completed prior to the painting, and I was left very confident that Varsity's scope of work was a much greater value for a price that was barely higher than any of the rest of the companies that bid. Varsity also gets an "A" for "Responsiveness" because each of my phone calls was promptly returned and all of my questions answered completely. The passage of time will tell, but I remain confident that the work is top quality despite my criticisms. The grade of "C" for "Punctuality" is the result of the fact that the painting began about 3 weeks after the anticipated start date. The delay itself didn't bother me too much because I understand that other jobs might take longer than expected and schedules change despite our best efforts. And while a 3-week delay was significant, the painting crew was punctual and consistent for the entire job once they began. I hesitated to give the "F" for "Professionalism", but all of the individuals were very friendly and professional, I think the grade is fair. My one complaint about Varsity is their internal and outgoing communication. As I mentioned, I wouldn't have been put off by a change in the start date, but nobody ever communicated with me about it. When I saw that work was finally being started, I called Joe to make sure that the weather was still conducive to a proper paint job and he replied promptly as usual, but I hadn't received one phone call in the preceding 3 weeks to tell me that the start date was being pushed back. As to the internal communication, my wife was leaving the house one morning when, by sheer coincidence, the crew was just arriving to begin painting the stucco siding. All of our trim had been primed with a white primer (or so we thought) in the preceding days, but the foreman of the crew proudly asked my wife what she thought of the newly white trim. My wife told the foreman that the trim was supposed to be a particular green color (which was indicated on the estimate/scope of work form) and, after some further clarification, the crew repainted the trim in the proper color without complaint or hesitation. It's possible that I contributed to some of the confusion on this issue because at the time of the estimate, I was unsure whether I wanted to soffits to be painted white or the same color as the rest of the trim, so my ultimate choice to paint them white was confirmed verbally and not reflected in the written scope of work. Painting the floor of the porch was a similar situation; I had discussed this with Joe during the estimate, but it wasn't specifically itemized in the scope of work. In the end, the floor was painted without hesitation. As I indicated, I expect that the final paint job will be as good or better than promised; if that proves to be the case, I would hire Varsity again, but I would be much more proactive about communicating because I'm not currently confident in Varsity's practices. Similarly, I would recommend Varsity to other people with the same caveat about communication.

I would like to say they did a great job and everything was expected, but it did not go quite that way. It was not quite what I was expecting. The house required a lot of prep work because the paint was coming off and they were working well on the prep work. The weather turned bad at the time, so we were fighting to squeeze in to get things done. I came home one day and they had painted half the house before the prep work was finished and I believe that it is the last stage of the process. I was surprised to see that and they also ended up putting another coat on because it was not prepped enough. I don?t know what they were thinking and I was disappointed with that. Their estimate was the highest, but I knew that it was a difficult job and I felt confident that they were going to do the extra measure on the prep work. They attempted to fix all the tings that I pointed out and they also showed up on time. The foreman was professional, but as for the painters, I would have liked to see someone with a little more craftsmanship. The owner of the company was great and was very convincing, but I am not sure he is aware of these issues. The outcome is that the house looks good.

The estimate was in line with the estimate I received from another painter. Joe, who prepared the estimate, was very professional, detailed, and knowledgable. I meet the crew a couple of times while they were working on the house and they were consistant, careful, steady workers (unlike the last time the house was painted). A couple of times when I had questions, they got back to me right away. Very, very, very happy with the whole job.

We have a small one-story building, about the size of a double bungalow. After we got the estimate, Joe said they would do the job in mid-September. A few days before they came in and power washed the entire building, allowed it to dry and then came to do the painting a few days later. Kurt was the foreman for our job and very responsive. He had a great crew ... they did all the trim and the entire outside of the building. I would definitely hire them again. They were very responsive to every phone call or question we had. Very professional and personable.
