I got home from being in the hospital for 1.5 days and we put our car in the garage Sept 4th afternoon. We heard a odd noise as we walked away from the garage. The right spring broke. We started by calling our door installer from 2011. They were nice and walked us thru a few steps to get the garage door open. They were busy that day in Maple Grove but could only come Sept 8. The referred us to TCGD. I called them. They sounded like it wouldn't be able to be done that day/it was getting a little late / yet unless it was emergency service. This was approx 1:30-2:00 at the latest Friday afternoon. I went along with this since I didn't like the sounds of having my garage door out of service until Sept 8. So I was expecting someone to come after 5:00 or so since this was their office hours on their website. They said a person would call when they were on the way. They showed up without calling about 3:05-3:10 Friday afternoon. The person was totally finished and showing me the paperwork at 3:40 or before. He showed me the paperwork and it showed $403. I thought the total shouldit be less since this couldn't be emergency service this early. I called the office later they said most field workers work from 7:00-3:00/3:30. Emergency rates start at 3:00 PM. I have never faced this with any home repair in my life. A little early when the office is open until 5:00. The installer said he had 40 hours in by Wednesday. I think I was put in the Overtime pool. The installer on my left spring looked used and rusty. I was informed it wasn't used. The springs come that way on a pallet then they can be pulled against each other in the truck. It looked in a lot tougher shape then the right spring. Rust was normal too. This spring looked tougher than my non-rusty spring that had broke. The safety cable on the right side was all twisted. It wasn't apparent what it could do all twisted up. No Angies List discount unless you purchase one of the deals ahead of time. The second time they were going sending out the same installer after ordering an different spring. I said I would rather have someone else/another set of eyes. They said they could do that. A second installer came back Friday Sept 11th was supposed to call. He showed up at 1:00. He replaced the tough looking new left spring the other installer had put in. He adjusted the safety cable so it wasn't twisted/crossovered. He also lubed the springs. It makes them look alot better and stronger. Tonight I noticed a bulge (not bent) in one of the pieces of the garage door as the car head lights. I'm curious if something it too tight. I don't recall the door having this before. Unsure what is up with that yet. I may want them to look at this too. Something with the spring may be pulling too tight. The most aggravating thing I would like to have adjusted/reduced on my credit card is the price I paid for the Emergency Service ($150-$200 higher) at 3:07 PM (then done in under a 1/2 hours) on a Friday afternoon and alot of the work was re-worked or improved by the second installer on Sept 11th. The quality work was done during non-emergency service 1:00 PM Friday Sept 11th. This was my experience with this company.

When I called for an estimate, I was able to get one promptly. The door, which had to be special ordered because of an unusual size arrived ahead of schedule and I was able to have it installed shortly thereafter. The technician was professional, prompt and obviously was a master of his craft. I am pleased with the results. This is the second garage door this firm has installed for me. I would hire them again. Definitely.

Both cables had snapped on the garage door so it couldn't be opened. I called Wednesday morning and they were out at 8 a.m. the next day. I couldn't be home to meet the tech (Chris), but we communicated on the phone. He explained exactly what he had done to fix the door (replaced cables, lower door brackets, added washers and lubed the track so door would travel smoothly. Door is now balanced and operating perfectly. Well satisfied with the entire process and work done.

We had our main garage door break a cable while it was closing, resulting in it being stuck in a crooked position. It couldn't be opened without special tools to straighten it out. Of course this happened on a Saturday afternoon, as these things tend to occur. I called a couple garage door companies, but TCGD provided the best value with a $180 hourly rate (including travel time) for the emergency call on a weekend, plus parts. The technician drove promptly from across town to our home, and within about 20 minutes he replaced the broken cable straightened the door out, re-lubricated everything, and made sure everything was hooked up and opening and closing smoothly. Would definitely use TCGD again!

Good. I did use that deal and I ended up getting two of them. If it's good and It works and it's quality, and they are delivering exactly what I said and they come and they do it and they don't mess anything else up, they get an A. I have already passed them along to clients.

Garage door consultation and installation went smoothly and well. I suspect that with a well-sealed garage now, my heating bills will decrease in the winter. And, the door looks great - it looks so good that while installing the door, the installer was asked for info and a card by a neighbor.

I was able to get service right away. Service guy called me prior to arrival. He was professional and helpful. After install he helped me program keypad and cars to the garage door opener . They removed and disposed of old unit. Very pleased with service and product.

Email and talked to them about what was wrong - they brought this what was needed and the garage was fixed when other companies had said the only way to fix it was to replace it.

Great. Found a deal on Angie's list and sent them a note. They contacted me within 5 minutes of sending the note and set up an appointment. I paid for it over the phone by credit card and they came out to my home while I was at work, so I didn't even need to be there. They called me that morning to let me know when they would be at my home. When I got home from work everything was installed and they removed and disposed of my old one for me. So far, so good, everything is working great! Very professional and courteous.

I just wanted them to fix the springs. They started at over 1500.00 for only the springs they came down $1200.00 down to just over $300.00 just to fix the springs. In the warranty they said that I needed everything replaced and fixed. I had it inspected by two company’s that didn't find anything wrong.

Provider contacted me immediately after receiving my email inquiry. An appointment was made and my garage door was fixed within hours. Prompt professional service at a competitive price. I would definitely use them again.

TCGD arrived right at the start of the two-hour window they gave me (which minimized my wasted time!) on a subzero day. The technician proceeded to quickly replace the springs & lubricate the springs, rollers, and hinges, taking a total of around 20 minutes. Afterwards, he gave me some tips on their preferred lubricants (thanks!).

I own a rental property and the spring on the garage door broke. TC Garage door came out and fix the garage door and said they would warranty it for five years. Four years have past and now the spring has broken again. I called TC Garage Door who said the warranty is prorated and it would cost me an additional $168 and they wouldn't be able to service me until December 4th, 9-days out. When I explained the situation, rental property & under warranty, she said it didn't matter. So I called Metro Garage Door Company, they are replacing both springs for $189 - only $20 more and same day service.

It turned out just fine. I provided three dates and they met one of the dates. The price for the additional work seemed reasonable and was less than other estimates we had received.

Woke up in the morning and realized the loud bang we heard the night before was the spring on the garage door breaking. We have a very heavy garage door and there was no way to get the cars out. We looked on Angies list and saw the deal and called Twin City Garage Door Co. They were out within three hours to perform the much needed repairs. Everything went as the "A" ratings above suggest. I never expected to get service at a great price on a Saturday. Highly recommend this company.

The spring snapped on my garage door & suddenly I couldn't get in or out the door. I called & they were able to come out first thing the next morning and replace the spring. They also oiled everything and the door is 10 times more quiet then it was before. Very happy with the service.

They were prompt and got the work done quick.
