It went well. The estimate process was quick. The installation crew showed up on time and finished I a half a day. They cleaned up after themselves and removed all debris. They took the time to explain how the windows were installed and how long the cure time was for the mortar.

On my initial phone call I was given a price over the telephone. They then scheduled a site visit during which they arrived on time and confirmed the price in writing and provided good information about what needed to happen before the installation date (clearing area around the windows so they are able to access the space). I was provided with a date and window of time during which the installers were to arrive and they agree to call me one hour before arrival (so I could get home from work to meet them). The installaters arrive 50 minutes before the time window that was scheduled and did not call me until they were on site. They asked if they could proceed with the work by breaking into the basement window before I arrived home, which I hesitantly agreed to. This did not turn out to be a problem but I was disappointed that I had not been given the one hour notice I had requested, and that they did not arrive within the time window that was scheduled. The installers were polite and professional and did a very good job and I am very happy with the final product. My plants in front of one window did get trampled, but I accept responsibility for that because I did not dig them up and move them before arrival of the installers.

The job was incredibly quick. The salesperson, Mike, was friendly and professional. He explained the rates and procedures and measured all the windows. The two-person crew arrived as scheduled one week after the measurements to install the windows. The work was completed in a single morning. The windows look great and function as advertised. I have had no issues with the quality of the materials or the workmanship. All were excellent. I was disappointed that upon arrival, the installation crew immediately started playing a loud radio, audible to all the neighboring houses despite the fact that it was 7:30 am. In addition, the crew members smoked on my property, in particular, while standing next to the openings left by removing the windows, allowing cigarette smoke to filter through my home. I did not feel comfortable approaching the crew about these criticisms and therefore never addressed them. They do not affect my appreciation of the quality of the product and installation.

We called Twin Cities glass block a couple of times last fall and they gave me a rough estimate right on the phone. It was competitive and we decided to go with them. They sent out someone to measure the windows and show us the glass block options. A week later, they came out for the install. They removed the old windows and installed glass block windows in our garage, with vents in the middle. Overall the service and price was excellent and we are considering using them for a basement window as well.

I didn't want to go with silicone because it doesn't last so I called TC Glass Block and Mike came out within a few days, checked out what I wanted and gave me the bid. It would have been cheaper per window if I had replaced others but all of the other windows were new except for that one. I wanted to replace the main level bath window but that was new also and they had re-framed it. Mike said I'd have to get a contractor out to get it back to the way it was and just that part would cost more than putting the glass block in. He thought since it's already a new window I should skip it. I like the honesty! Sean and Glen came out a week later and did the install. Awesome guys, awesome work. I was VERY impressed at how nice it looked and the quality of workmanship. I would definitely hire them again.

They were just wonderful. They are the most professional people. Their punctuality was fantastic. The two guys who came out to do the work were professional, friendly, and punctual. They did a great job with my old 1908 house. They cleaned up after themselves. It seemed to be a decent price for the work that they did. Everything was very clear from the very beginning of the project. There was a cement issue, however they took the time to explain everything to me.

They were right on time, and very professional. They finished in approx. 3 hours. Everything went smoothly except while removing one of the old windows, it broke. This wasn't a problem except it wasn't until after they left I realized they never picked up the broken glass that fell outside in my flower bed, so I ended up cleaning that up. Other than that I would highly recommend them and will have them come back to install glass blocks in my bathroom when that remodel begins.

They did a beautiful job. The customer service was terrific. They were very quick, neat and clean. They had to unhook my dryer to get to the window, when they were done they hooked it back up. It was even hooked up better than before. They cleaned up after themselves. Their prices were reasonable. They came when they said they would. They didn't leave a mess, which is a big thing for me.

I called three companies for quotes. TCGB was the most reasonable. They were also the most informative and friendly on the phone. Mike visited once I decided on TBCG to take measurements, provide the final quote, and explain the process. The company followed up via phone call to confirm each service appointment. The service team installed the bathroom window first and took less than an hour. The basement service team was also efficient. They were able to work around some bushes outside the windows rather than cut them down. Before leaving, they walked me through the work performed and asked that I inspect everything inside and out. This extra care and proactiveness gets an A+.

Very prompt for both initial appointment and installation. Very courteous. Work was fast. They did removal and replacement in under four hours. Clean-up was pretty good, although I did a second sweep myself. The windows look great. I scheduled out further than I needed to so that I could have it done on a day when I was free; they would have been able to do it more quickly.

This was a very good experience. I called for an estimate and someone came to measure the windows. The work was scheduled when it worked for me and the company. They said they would come between 10 am and noon and they arrived at 11 am. There was a 2-man crew who removed and replaced the windows. The work was done within about 2 hours! They left everything very clean. I came outside to take a look and he showed me how the dry mortar works. They look great and I'm looking forward to next summer when I can open the vents for some fresh air in the basement.

From sales to install, these guys were great. First, Mike from sales came by to bid on the project and talk through my options for blocking in my basement windows, which I wanted for both privacy and security. Mike was very knowledgeable and walked me through the different style and configuration options, which I needed because I had one window that required a special vent port to provide a fresh air feed to my furnace (required by code). He followed up with me on the phone to make sure I got the style of block selected, which I did. Unbeknownst to both of us, the style I chose became discontinued and Mike was kind enough to come back by to show me the new option. He's really nice, he knows his beans and ladies, he's cute. :-) Of course, that had no bearing on my decision. On the day of install, two block-installers came and banged right through the project. They removed all the old windows, prepped the openings and popped in the block lickidy-split. They were efficient, did the job and cleaned up their mess. I would definitely use these guys again, though I don't think I'll need to since those windows aren't going anywhere for a long, long time.

They returned my initial inquiry within one day, providing a ballpark quote right over the phone and setting two dates - one a few days later for a measurement and estimate appointment, the next six days after the initial appointment, to do the work. Showing up exactly on time for the first appointment, they provided an estimate that was right in line with the initial ballpark estimate. They showed up on time for the second appointment, were friendly, fast, and executed the work with capability and even a bit of artistry (a nice slope of concrete to bridge an unusual window size gap). They clearly explained how long to wait before letting the window get wet or painting around the windows. They cleaned up before they left - did an "A-minus" job on that - some small debris in the tub - but I consider that a very above average cleanup job for a contractor.
Description of Work: They removed and replaced five basement windows and a bathroom window with glass block. They re-routed wiring that came through the original basement window frames as needed. One basement window required a dryer vent.

A representative from the company came in advance and measured each window opening so that a custom vented glass block infill could be constructed. Because the glass block window in-fills are created prior to actual installation, the actual day of the work went remarkably fast and the installers cleaned up after they were done.
