Description of Work: In july of 2012 the replaced my old driveway with a new asphalt driveway and applied an acrylimat coating. They did a very professional job and did an excellent job cleaning up. The whole neighborhood was very impressed. Prior to selling my home in October 2014 I had them back to put on a fresh coat of acrylimat to freshen things up. And again a very esceptional job was done. If I would not have moved out of state, I would use them for my new driveway.

Description of Work: The Original Driveway Design replaced our driveway (asphalt) and our garage apron, sidewalk, and front steps (concrete). We joined with two neighbors to gather estimates and get the work done at the same time. Clearly, Randy Johnson (The Original Driveway Design) knew more about asphalt surfaces than anyone else who provided estimates for the job. The crews that completed the work were engaged - confident, professional, and hard-working. The work was impeccable upon completion and everything still looks brand new almost two years later. We paid a little more than we would have to the other prospective providers but. as we expected, it was well worth it. Be sure to get the Onyx Package coating on the asphalt. It's amazing - rendering typical seal-coating obsolete, in my opinion. This was a great experience.

+ -1 moreI SPOKE DIRECTLY TO RANDY WHO SCHEDULES ALL OF THE ESTIMATES TO TRY AND SET A DAY. WE WERE UNABLE TO SCHEDULE SOMETHING THE DAY THAT I SPOKE TO HIM. HE INFORMED ME OF HOW BUSY THEY ARE THIS TIME OF YEAR. I ASKED HIM IF THAT MEANT HE COULDNT SCHEDULE AN ESTIMATE AND HE ASSURED ME THAT HE COULD DO ONE. I THEN TRIED AGAIN TO SET A TIME. HE WAVERED AND SAID HE DOESNT SCHEDULE ESTIMATES FOR DAYS WHEN IT MIGHT RAIN. I SAID OK. HE THEN WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT HE USED TO DO ESTIMATES SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN AND HES TOO OLD FOR THAT NOW. I DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHERE THIS LEFT US, SO I INTERJECTED AGAIN AND ASKED WHEN HE WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR AN ESTIMATE. HE THEN SAID THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO CALL THE DAY OF AND TRY TO SCHEDULE SOMETHING FOR THAT DAY. I WAS PUT OFF BY THIS BUT SAID OK. THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO AND STILL NO CALL. THEY OBVIOUSLY DONT NEED ANYMORE BUSINESS BECAUSE THEYRE TOO SWAMPED TO CALL NEW PROJECTS BACK.

+ -1 moreVERY GOOD DESIGN SUGGESTIONS. FRIENDLY, HARD-WORKING CREW. FIRST PROBLEM WAS INSTALLATION LEVEL WITH GARAGE FLOOR, WHICH ROSE 3/8 INCH RIGHT AFTER INSTALLATION. IN THE WINTER THIS TRAPS WATER IN THE GARAGE. SECOND PROBLEM OCCURRED WHEN LONG CRACKS DEVELOPED ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE DRIVEWAY, ESPECIALLY WHERE THE PULL-OUT WAS ADDED. THIRD PROBLEM WAS REPEATED (ABOUT 15) CALLS MADE TO THE COMPANY TO COME OUT AND LOOK AT THE PROBLEM, CLEARLY COVERED BY THE 5-YEAR WARRANTY. HE DIDN''T RETURN CALLS THAT I KNOW HE RECEIVED, BECAUSE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, OFFICE PERSONNEL TOLD ME THEY PERSONALLY GAVE HIM THE MESSAGE. I EVEN DELIVERED PICTURES TO THEIR OFFICE. A LONG-TERM OFFICE EMPLOYEE WAS SHOCKED WHEN SHE SAW THE PICTURES AND SHE LATER CONFIRMED THAT HE HAD SEEN THEM. THE WARRANTY IS MEANINGLESS AND THE OWNER DOESN''T BACK-UP HIS WORK.
