The Original Driveway Design

Work done according to contract, no unpleasant surprises. On time and on budget.

I have not really rated this company. I called for an appointment for an estimate and later revceived an estimate which I considered to be too high.

Randy (the owner) knows asphalt very well. The work was done professionally. It was done the way I wanted it done. They are not the cheapest.

Mr. Johnson was punctual and personable. The work was done timely and in a very acceptable manner.

The driveway looks great, he has a warranty on it and it really dressed up the property. Randy gave me a great price on the driveway and the house looked so much better for resale having concrete in stead of asphalt.

We're very pleased with the work performed on our driveway. The edges were cut back nicely, and the sealant was applied cleanly and thoroughly. The driveway was roped off to prevent any foot or car traffic while the sealant dried. The Acrylimat sealant was absolutely worth the cost. It has a sharp, glossy, jet-black finish and left no odor. Also, the driveway could be driven on within 2-3 hours after the work was performed; we were able to drive right on it after coming from home that day (no waiting). No other product allows that. The result is a beautiful, glossy black driveway that looks new and will be protected for several years. The Original Driveway Design did a very professional job and we're completely satisfied.

It was perfect, I highly recommend them. I had a driveway that was a strange design and Randy spent hours. He said he woke up in the middle of the night and figured out the best way to do it and it ended up being the best way. I had a couple of planners come over and they couldn't find the right way to do it but Randy did. The price was very comparable to the other prices.

They were fast and clean. They did a very good job at a very good price. It was the best price among all the prices that we got. They said they would come out in a month and a half, and we said it was okay. We didn't mind waiting, but we waited and waited. We finally called them and they were out here in three days. I don't know if they had forgotten us or whether we were actually in their list or not. They said they would come out at 12:30, and they were here at that time when they finally came out. I used to be the maintenance man for a big company. I would use them again without a doubt.

Of all the contractors that RESPONDED to my inquires, Driveway design earned my trust and got our business. Randy (Owner) showed up exactly when he said he would, was very honest with me, "demanded" (said with a smile) that he fix our driveway so it's actually squared to the house properly.If I accepted his estimate. They met all the criteria I wanted for replacing our aging and failing driveway. I didn't get any push for anything extra, which always earns points.. I don't need an up sale I need a specific service completed. Driveway Design never offered more than I asked for, unless it would be required for a safe and proper completion and/or to extend the life of the work they would complete. His team ALL showed up at the exact time he said they would, were all very curteous to my snooping and taking pictures (to show how ugly the old driveway had gotten) and answering any questions I had about what they were doing. I've already had comments from neighbors about how nice the new Garage Apron and VERY new and redesigned walkway look. These notes are specific to the concrete work we had done, waiting for it to cure before pouring the asphalt but I have no fear that this stage will have the same excellence and results. The Original Driveway Design Company was not the cheapest bid I got, but I'm smart enough to know when you're going to get what you pay for. I am willing to pay extra for what I believe is going to be an extremely high quality of product and service. Driveway Design did not disappoint me. Asphalt will be completed next week. If I can edit here I will if needed, but I trust that the asphalt team will impress me just as much as the Removal and Concrete teams have already. We plan to have Driveway Design come back in the Spring to add a "Bronzing" to our Driveway to help it look new and last for a very long time. We also plan to have them build us a concrete patio under our deck next year.

They were very prompt/professional. Asphalt prices were higher than other companies so I hired someone else.

They were too high in price and I ended up going with another company for the job.

It went great the company was professional and efficient and ensured the driveway would be done right.

The bid process was very straight forward, no pressure. The project went exaclty as described. The driveway has been a big improvemet.

Driveway Design did a great job installing the patio, and the result was beautiful. Well done.

I was going to hire them, but found out Dan Gibbs, the man with whom I'd met and the new owner since 2004/2005, had left the company. Because I knew nothing about the new management, I went with another company.

Basically they helped recommend a really nice design on the patio and they charged a fair price. They came in and did quick work and in the end it was a beautiful patio.

Driveway Design did an excellent job, both in terms in meeting with us to explain options and in being flexible as well as in the outcome of the job. The concrete looks far better than I imagined and is providing the exact function we needed.

I DIDN'T USE THEM BECAUSE I COULD SAVE MONEY BY USING ONE COMPANY WHO COULD DO BOTH THE ASPHALT AND CONCRETE

HE HAD SOME GOOD IDEAS AND SEEMED INTERESTED IN HELPING US COORDINATE THE WORK, SAYING HE WOULD CALL US WITHIN A WEEK. TWO WEEKS LATER, WE CALLED HIM TO FIND HE NEEDED MORE TIME TO CONSULT WITH HIS CONTRACTOR, BUT HE SAID HE WOULD CALL BACK. AFTER AT LEAST FOUR MORE UNRETURNED CALLS TO HIM DURING THE NEXT SIX WEEKS, WE FINALLY HAD TO ASSUME HE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN THE WORK. WE NEVER HEARD FROM HIM.

WE ARE VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THEIR WORK, COMMUNICATION, AND THEIR PROFESSIONALISM.

IT IS HARD TO GIVE A GRADE IN QUALITY SINCE THERE IS A LOW SPOT IN THE DRIVEWAY THAT THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO ME ABOUT. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THEY DID NOT COMMUNICATE WITH ME. THEY DID NOT RESPOND TO ME. THEY WOULD NOT LET ME KNOW WHEN I WAS ON THE SCHEDULE TO HAVE WORK DONE. THEY LEFT MY GARAGE DOOR OPEN AND MY GOLF CLUBS WERE STOLEN.

THEY TOLD US IN ADVANCE THEY WERE RUNNING ABOUT A MONTH OUT AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHEN THEY CAME TO START THE JOB.

MRS. LANET JOHNSON WAS EXTREMELY COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. HOWEVER, WE DECIDED TO GO WITH A BRICK DRIVEWAY INSTEAD OF ASPHALT OR CEMENT.

I CALLED FOR AN ESTIMATE FROM DRIVEWAY DESIGN AND SCHEDULED FOR A WEDNESDAY EVENING. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE A LONG COMMUTE, SO WE MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO BE HOME EARLIER THAN USUAL TO MEET THE ESTIMATOR. THE INDIVIDUAL CALLED US AND SAID THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO MAKE IT AND COULD WE RESCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY. WE SAID SURE AND SHE SAID SHE'D CALL CLOSER TO SATURDAY OR ON SATURDAY MORNING TO ARRANGE A TIME. SHE DID NOT CALL OR SHOW. WE CALLED THE FOLLOWING MONDAY TO INQUIRE AND OUR CALL WAS NOT RETURNED, SO CALLED BACK MONDAY NEAR 5PM AND EXPLAINED SITUATION. SHE AGREED TO COME OUT AND AGAIN WE MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO BE HOME. ESTIMATE ITSELF WHEN FINALLY COMPLETED WAS IN LINE WITH OTHER ESTIMATES, BUT WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FOR FEAR THAT PUNCTUALITY WOULD CONTINUE TO BE A PROBLEM.
