 + -1 moreGot an appointment that week with Technical Reinforcements. Tom tested our wi-fi and found it very weak. He was able to get us up and running with a fairly cheap booster (which we had tried before but ours hadn't worked - the one he had was much better quality). He recommended things we could try down the road if we had further problems but this fixed the problem.
Description of Work: Our wi-fi wasn't working well enough to stream TV shows. Comcast said it was fine. Best Buy said our equipment was fine. We needed a third opinion.

I have a working knowledge of Macintosh computers but have not kept up with the latest system software and wanted help solving minor operating problems that have crept in to my machine over time. I was hoping I could learn what was causing the problems and what the solutions were as the technician looked over my computer. The technician was patient with my numerous questions and I think he resolved or explained all issues to my satisfaction.

 + -1 moreMy laptop had been making a lot of noise for several weeks before I called Technical Reinforcements. Suzie (dispatcher) was very helpful in talking through various thoughts on what it could be. She ordered the appropriate fan and called me when it arrived to set up a time to have the fan replaced. Bret was very punctual, professional and knowledgeable. He had the fan swapped out in just under an hour and i even got him to answer some other one off random computer questions that I had. I would use this company again if I ever have computer issues!
Description of Work: Replaced a fan and bearings on my laptop, which was making lots of noise.

Brett is an Apple expert, and what he doesn't know, he can figure out. He helped us coordinate all our Apple devices. It is reassuring to know that we now have someone we can call on if we have a tech problem we cannot handle ourselves.

 + -1 moreBrett helped me set up my wireless as a secure system and also assisted me with saving passwords to the cloud. He was very friendly, professional and efficient. He also explained what he was doing as we went along and offered several good computer tips during the session. He knew how to tailor his communication to the customer's level of expertise. Additionally, he was thorough in that he made sure that all of my other devices were also properly set up with the wireless. I will certainly call them again when I need computer assistance. Scheduling was also very easy.

Description of Work: Helped save, transfer or delete documents on my PC. CLEANUP & ORGANIZE! Also transferred Palm Tungsten storage to iCloud so I can continue to access the information, but get rid of the Palm. Worked on getting two wireless HP printers to work. Successful at one, but the other still has problems. I was given a few suggestions. Also helped restore emails from my backup after my Mac had been scrubbed. GREAT SERVICE, BRETT is very knowledgeable.

 + -1 moreThe external drives had become disconnected and couldn't reinstate them with the proper drive letters. Tech Support re-labeled the drives to the previous labels and gave some tips on labeling in the future to prevent the drive assignments from changing. Since Tech Support was here I had him install a new external dvd drive and load the burning software that came with the dvd. He performed in a very professional manner and I definitely will use Technical Reinforcements in the future.

 + 0 moreOur experience with Technical Reinforcements has been terrific. They have been prompt, professional, knowledgeable and have had respect for us and our home. They are reasonably priced and go out of their way to provide value.
Description of Work: My initial contact with Technical Reinforcements was due to a search I made through Angie's list to locate someone my employer, a woman in her eighties, could call when she had problems with her home computer and/or related equipment to help her. I called Suzy and initiated contact and explained what I wanted. My employer subsequently had James out to her house a couple of times to solve some issues she was having. I happened to sit through one of these sessions and was very impressed with James and his knowledge and patience. I inquired if his knowledge extended to televisions. He responded that it was not his expertise but he did have years of technical experience. Shortly thereafter, Technical Reinforcements offered a two hours for the price of one special through Angie's List. I purchased the special. I tried to schedule James to come out to our house for the two hours, but we could not find an agreeable time. I was disappointed, but Suzy convinced me Brett would be a capable replacement. Brett came out and did a wonderful job. He completed an install of our updated Comcast Xfinity system, got both television systems working on one remote each and taught my wife and I how to fully operate the systems. He was very patient with us as we are both seniors with limited technical understanding. With the time remaining, he solved several issues my wife was having with her tablet and helped me update my IMAC operating system. We did not get everything on our to do list completed, but we plan on having Brett return some time in the future.

 + -1 moreThe tech (Tom) was prompt; the appointment was set for 10AM and he was here precisely at 10AM. We discussed my technical concerns and TRI?s suite of services, and the decision was made for him to take the computer with and return it the next business day. He called the next day to give me a status report and the time of delivery. My computer was returned at the agreed-upon time and functioning properly. I plan to use TRI as my IT service provider going forward.
Description of Work: Added a new hard drive and cloned it. Left the original drive intact ,in the case in the event it's needed in the future (unplugged), which was my choice after a discussion about options.
