Structure Tech Home Inspections

I am an agent representing a home buyer is also an appraiser. She has purchased and sold several homes of her own - felt in the past, buyer inspections were kind of a waste of money because they didn't shed any new light beyond what was visible. She found this inspection extremely thorough and enlightening. totally worth it!

Excellent company and the service was top notch from my initial contact with them to the final report. Tessa Murry inspected our house regarding heat loss through the attic that we have been trying to resolve since shortly after we purchased the house. She was professional, thorough and honest about what our options were to resolve the problem. She didn't just look at the house and send us a report. What I really appreciated was how she listened to us regarding our observations and addressed all of our questions we had regarding reports from the initial home inspection from the house purchase and an energy audit. We now have options on how to proceed and have a better understanding of whether or not the repair will be worth the cost and the challenges we might encounter. Well worth the money. And their website is an excellent source of information which is why I contacted them in the first place.

Our inspector, Matthew B, was incredibly thorough and took time to ensure we understood everything we were seeing. The report was complete and detailed and included very helpful photographs with added graphics throughout and came to us later the same day. He invited us to contact him with any follow-up questions, which we have done, and he has continued to be very responsive and has clarified our understanding. We have moved a number of times and this was the most impressive home inspection we have ever had.

Bryan was the best! We recently used Structure Tech for the inspection on an older home that we purchased. It was very evident that Bryan genuinely cared about us and wanted to ensure that he left no stone un-turned. He tool that time to explain things to us and answered all of our questions.

I couldn't recommend Nick Pickert with Structure Tech more highly. I work in commercial construction so it was vital for me to find a good inspector to walk me through residential issues, repairs, and maintenance. Nick took the time to walk through and around the house methodically, answering my questions when I had them and giving me a good idea of how the systems of the house work together to resolve or cause issues. Occasionally we would discover something later on during the inspection that caused him to return to a previous area to verify a certain HVAC or electrical system's orientation. He had the report ready for me to review less than a day after the inspection--complete with photos of the condition, suggestions or supplemental information, and diagrams with links on how different systems work or how they are repaired. Also, I was told before I scheduled the appointment how much it would cost--and it was worth every penny for the peace of mind it offered. I highly recommend Structure Tech's blog on how to keep up your home--this alone will likely help give you an idea of how thorough the company is.

Milind was exceptional- very respectful, super knowledgeable about all structural things of the house. His report was detailed with photos and suggestions for things needing repair. He answered all my questions with explanations that I could understand. He heard a "gurgling" in the attic and determined that it was a blocked bathroom vent from a wasp nest at the roof outlet which caused water to pool in the vent piping! and he disposed of the nest and explained the repair needed which we did immediately the next day. What a detail person who recognized an unusual problem.

We hired Structure Tech to perform an inspection on the house we're going to buy. They were able to get us in the next day. Bryan was actually a bit early. He had a new inspector, Ryan, shadowing him. They were extremely thorough, including using infrared thermography to identify missing insulation and other issues. The Angie's List Certified company I called before Structure Tech said they don't do it as part of a normal inspection and that their camera was broken. Bryan and Ryan spent about 4 hours at the house and found a number of issues that, if addressed, will help us keep our new house in good condition for many years. Both guys were very friendly and very professional. Bryan got the report to us bright and early the next morning (online) and it was very thorough and included photos of problem areas, infrared photos, illustrations of how things *should* be, and links to articles on relevant topics. Highly recommended.

We had concerns of excessive moisture building up in our attic, including vent fans that were not connected to the outside. The representative did a complete inspection, check the roof vents for proper exiting of the fan vents, and insured us that everything was ok, including infrared test results.

Matthew not only did a thorough job of inspecting but also gave us recommendations and a list of providers to accomplish whatever tasks needed to be done. Would definitely recommend Structure Tech!

This inspection and the incredible report written were worth every penny, and I will recommend Structure Tech and Matt B. in particular to anyone interested in having their current or future home inspected.

I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Structure Tech. Reuben and his apprentice came out to my home right on time and very thoroughly assessed the home. They were very professional and listened to every concern and question that I had. It was quite impressive how detailed they were. I have had home inspections before, but this was above and beyond my expectations. The report came promptly the next day and now I have ample documentation and support to request that the builder correct the problems before they become a bigger issue down the road. Money well spent and worth every penny!

Joe was very professional, thorough and communicative. Joe inspected one home that ended up falling through and I requested Joe by name for the second inspection. I would recommend Joe and Structure Tech to family and friends for sure.

We have been following Ruben's blog for years, so naturally when we were buying a "new" older home for a rental we wanted Structure Tech for the home inspection. We knew they were a bit more expensive but thought the quality of the inspection would more than make up for that. We had the home inspection ($519), the radon test ($150) and the sewer inspection ($175). Our agent requested Milind, but the person available for the time we needed it was Tessa. And I am SOOO glad! Tessa was great and REALLY knew her stuff. She was incredibly thorough - she took about 3 hours to inspect the house inside and out. She explained everything as she went -- good and bad, but went further and explained why you would need to fix something and if it was a matter that needed attention right away or could wait a bit. The report she sent us was just as thorough -- with lots of detail and annotated pictures and incredibly prompt, emailed to us by the end of that same day. Tessa was also a great communicator -- she was engaging, friendly, very personable and a good teacher. She included everyone equally when she was explaining things - me, my husband and our 18 year old son. And explained things in a way we could all understand. Later, when I was talking with Joe (the sewer inspector guy -- also really nice and professional) I learned that Tessa is the one at Structure Tech with also went to college for housing - getting a degree from the U of MN in Residential Building Science and Technology. He also told us she works on Habitat for Humanity houses every year. It is evident that all of that background contributes to her expertise in Home Inspection. If we need a home inspection in the future -- we will be requesting Tessa from Structure Tech.

The office was very responsive and able to arrange an appointment before we had to leave town. Bryan was punctual, and when we arrived as instructed 1 hour into inspection, he showed us around, providing context for things he would include in the report. He is highly knowledgeable and professional. His written report was very well done, and helped us determine what things need to be done.

Second time using Structure Tech and very happy with the results, they were much more thorough than other options I've used in the past.

Nick Pickert did a superb job on checking every portion of the structure. He answered all of my questions and was very thorough on looking at all areas of the home, pointing out what the homeowner should fix and what I could take care of later.
