Steve was on time to repair several problems we had encountered. He fixed whatever he could, was neat and quick. He had to order parts for 2 of the problems ...the kitchen faucet and a bathroom faucet. We are waiting for him to return. He did replace flaps in 3 toilets.

I have used Steve before, but not for a few years. I called him to replace a garbage disposal in our kitchen sink. His price was about $50 below all the other bids I got. He came same day. Did an excellent job. Cleaned up. Educated me. Installed a better unit (stainless steel) than the one he replaced. Honest and helpful.

Steve took both part first to see if replacing the washers would solve the problem, and showed me the wear that meant they both needed replacing. One was original to the house built in 1941. He then replaced both. I have used Steve for a number of projects over the years. I consider him "my" plumber. He always does excellent work, has the necessary knowledge, explains what needs to be done and why, cleans up after the job very well and is unfailingly polite and respectful. He has my highest recommendation.

Overall process went good. Steve worked with a 3rd party contractor to coordinate his work and worked directly with me for invoicing and add-on projects I inquired about. Overall, it was a good experience.

He had back injury and so he said that he couldn’t install water heaters because they are real heavy stuff. He is very good for what he can do. I would recommend him. He gives a senior discount. He knows what he is doing. He is prompt and he comes when he says. If there is something he can't handle, he will let me know that and usually will get me somebody else. He is kind of low-key for a plumber.

I had been accumulating minor plumbing 'issues' for a while - the shut-off valve for the outside faucet and the basement sink faucet had been bugging me for a while. The straw that broke the camel's back was the leaky shower drain pipe. It had leaked for a while and I couldn't tell what was wrong. Another service company came in to clear a drain blockage and they were able to clearly point out the problem. Eureka!!! Now I had a cause and decided to get the plumbing issues resolved. I checked Angie's List for plumbers and came up with a few choices. After calling Steve Pokorny Plumbing and talking directly with Steve, I felt comfortable and made the appointment. He was able to accommodate my date/time needs. On the day of the appointment, he arrived, introduced himself and we talked about the plumbing issues, He was courteous and careful in my house, taking off his shoes. After we were clear on what needed doing (and my showing him the back door, so he didn't have to continue to take off his shoes), he went to work. I was working from home that day and he was quiet and efficient. The work took about 1-3/4 hours. After he finished, he showed and explained to me what he had done and what he replaced/repaired. He provided the bill and explained it - $97.00 for the first 1/2 hour and $97.00/hour thereafter, plus cost of parts. As i said above, he was quiet, courteous, efficient and competent, doing the work without fuss. I dread plumbing issues, having had 'bad' experiences with prior plumbing firms. However, the cost, work and demeanor of Steve Pokorny Plumbing was a good experience and I would recommend him to others and would use him again for other plumbing repairs.

Mr. Pokorny fixed a leaking water valve on a weekend morning. Came over within 60 minutes. Pleasant, professional and did not over charge.

He was able to accommodate my schedule, which was helpful. The faucets work pretty well. I had an issue with one of them but I haven?t called him back to see if there was something that he could do. I don?t know how to grade the price - I wasn?t shocked though. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

A defective vacuum breaker on an exterior faucet caused water to freeze in a pipe that runs inside the wall of a finished storage room. The pipe split as a result of the freezing. When we turned on the water, the pipe leaked causing water to collect inside the wall and on the carpeted floor of the storage room. Steve promptly diagnosed the problem and suggested a new route for the split pipe, which was an improvement over the existing design. He then replaced the pipe, the exterior faucet, and the defective vacuum breaker. He arrived on time, was professional and efficient, and cleaned up after his work was completed. He also wrote out a detailed statement of what happened for our insurance company.

Steve came out promptly and diagnosed the problem. The fixtures needed replacing, so he recommended some or said we could select our own and he would install them. We went with one he recommended, which not only allows us to turn the shower off without adjusting the temperature, but also keeps the water at a steady temperature when water is run in another room. He fixed the pipes in one visit, and came back when we had repaired the wall to complete the installation. We're very pleased with his work!
