They were clear on the phone that I would be charged $159 to have my boiler checked, and then they told me that any extra work or cleaning of it would be an extra cost. When he came and inspected the boiler, he told me that it needed to be cleaned and that it would have to be done on a separate trip. Just a routine cleaning was going to cost me about $400. He wrote up a work order saying that the cost would be about $1000 and there was not only going to be a thorough cleaning but a thermal couple they said it needed. He also said that he didn't think my heat pump was working and that I should replace that for $500. I decided that after all of that I needed to get someone else's opinion, and then found out that I didn't need any of the work that he said that I needed. They were prompt and came when they said they would. I was disappointed to find out that the $159 inspection fee didn't really include any work or actual cleaning. It terms of service they were fine, my problem is with the prices and suggesting things that didn't really need to be done. I felt like there was a lack of real honesty in terms of telling me I needed things that I didn't.

Happy giving some business to a local (for me) company and glad they did good work.

It went fine and the drain was cleared in a timely manner, but I had the same job done a month ago for less than half the price.

Went quckly, installed the heater and took out the old without any damage to finished basement walls. Told me exactly what he was doing and why. Efficient, no nonsense, no added costs after I was given the estimate/proposal.

The Soderlin tech came out and check our central air because of lack of cooling. He inspected the condenser and check the freon level which he thought was low. He then checked the furnace and found the cooling coil filter to be clogged with dirt and hair and junk. He then laid out my options and explained what we could do next. He also told me how to do clean the coils myself rather than pay him $250 to do it and thought this would solve our problem. Options were discussed if this did not work. Overall I was very satisfied with the work even if he didn't quite fix our problem. I appreciated the fact that he didn't just do the work and not give us options on keeping the cost down

Called for an estimate for installing two water heaters and an estimate for a new heating and air unit.In addition to also fix a leaking shower head. When the serviceman arrived I told him what services I desired. He informed me that he could handle the cost estimate for the water heaters and he could fix the leaking shower head. He also said another serviceman from his company would need to come out the give the estimate for the hvac. He proceeded to call to have the second repairman come out. The service gave the estimate for the water heaters and also an estimate to repair the leak ($110.00). Prior to doing the repair on the shower head the serviceman stated the total repair cost would be $99.00 after a 10% discount for being an Angies' list member. I was not given an written estimate prior to the work being started. After the repair of he shower head the serviceman said my bill was $190.00, I told him that he quoted a bill of $99.00. At that point he said there was an $79.95 service charge for coming out, I told him that he provided an estimate to repair the leak for $99.00 and I had an expectation that he should honor his verbal estimate. I further requested that he call his office so I could speak with someone to mediate what was becoming a serious dispute. The serviceman stated that he was in charge for all his billings and the only person I could speak with was him.He became increasingly hostile and rude. He told me that I was a dishonest person. He yelled words I won't repeat. About the same time another serviceman from the company arrived outside, the first serviceman screamed at me a few more unkind words and walk out the door, slamming it behind himself. Upon exiting the house, I hear him tell the other serviceman, to leave and not provide any services for me. The servicemen was a young man in his 30's, I am a senior with children older than he, if there was a misunderstanding it did not have to esteslate to the point it did. What has happen to good custumer relations/service. I was appalled at the lack of respect shown by the young man.

My experience with Soderlin was good. I would have picked them if not for a lower bid from a competitor. Big plus was that the estimator took the time, even after I told him I was choosing a competitor, to fix the issue in my gas line and light the pilot on the soon-to-be-replaced water heater.

My toilet would not fully flush so I had two different sewer companies pump the line which didn't help. Then I called Soderlin. The first plumber came out and removed the toilet and cleaned out the line. Toilet would still not flush so he told me I needed a new one. He had one in the truck so I said go ahead. When he called me to look at the new installed toilet it was much smaller and left a big hole in the wallpaper. He didn't appear too interested in working on the other issues so he collected my $700+ and left. I called Soderlin and told them about the situation because the new toilet was still not flushing and they sent another plumber out who seemed much more experienced. He pulled the toilet and found that there was a wax buildup around the floor where the pipe meets the toilet or something similar to that. Once that was cleaned it worked perfectly but I still had a toilet that left a big hold in my wallpaper. So he called the company to see if they could find a larger toilet and they did for $300 more. I gave them the go ahead and he gave me an estimate for the other items. He also called another company and they came out to pump the line once more just to make sure it was all clear so by now the line had been cleared by three different companies. That cost an additional $115. When the new toilet arrived he came out again. This toilet was still too small because it was tapered so he told me I'd need to decide what I wanted to do. He could put the same one back or install the new one or I could go out and get something else. By this time I just wanted the thing done. The first toilet installed seemed very cheaply made as the seat slide all over and the second toilet seemed better quality so I had him just install that and I'd try to figure out what to do about the wallpaper. Then he went to install the laundry faucet and couldn't find the water shut off valve which happened to be behind the washer. He was up in the ceiling looking for it so I called a neighbor and he told me it should be a few inches off the floor and then we found it behind the washer. Unfortunately the plumber broke two of my ceiling tiles in the process. He said they crumbled but my daughter has turned off the outside water numerous times and never broken the tiles. The other projects he did went just fine. I really feel I am out a lot more money than I should be. I have to find someone to replace an entire wall of paper and replace my ceiling tiles. If the first plumber had done his job I wouldn't have a new toilet as I didn't need one.

The experience with Soderlin was pretty good. They were on time. They did more than I originally asked them too. The guy was a good person. I would use them again, and I would recommend them. They explained everything that they were doing and why. They told me what would happen if it didn't get fixed, and how long it would last.

They came here and performed the service in a timely manner. They were very professional. They were very prompt too, and came the very next day we had called them.

We turned on our A/C for the first time this spring, but there was no cooling. Called Soderlin, and Jeff came out the next day to check the system. He recharged the system with refrigerant, and recommended that we replace the very old unit. But came back the next day with a sensitive leak detector, could find only very tiny leaks which he was able to repair. Jeff's honesty and skill at least postponed the expense for a new unit to the future....at which time we will surely deal with Soderlin..

This service just happened today. The man, Mark, was very nice and honest. He was professional and I liked him.

I was very happy with their service. Their prices were way out of line, though. That price was just to unplug the sink. It wasn't very much work at all. It took like 15 minutes.

The price they quoted was really high. Their price quote was 100% inflated than every other quote that I got. I finally managed to get a top line water heater from another dealer for less than half the price of what they were offering for a lower level water heater. They tried to trouble shoot and also cleaned up inside my unit. They were pretty punctual and were easy to get hold of. They were nice and friendly but I decided not to hire them eventually just because of their pricing.

The water heater started leaking from the bottom so I called Soderlind at 8:00 a.m. The technician, Jeff, arrived at 8:30 and assessed the situation. My boiler was very old and I knew I would need a new one soon, so got the price of that. I wanted the type of system where the boiler would also heat the water. Within one hour, 4 technicians were here and started working. There were some complications due to the fact my home is 125 years old and they were remedied. I had heat and hot water by 5 the same day. The following day, they came back to complete some details and fully explained all the mechanisms and procedures. All the personnel were clean, neat, professional, and mannerly

It went well, they cleaned up nicely after themselves.

During the January cold spell, a pipe feeding our kitchen sink froze, then burst on a Friday night after dinner. We shut off the water and called; Soderlin responded quickly- there was a plumber on-site within a hour. He quickly assessed where he could cap the line to allow us to use water in the rest of the house for the weekend, and proposed a more extensive repair that we could do during regular working hours. He gave us the option of doing all the work right away, but showed how much more expensive that would be, and suggested we could save some money if I prepped the work area (removed parts of the basement ceiling, for instance) myself. We payed about $460 for the emergency call to cut and cap two galvanized pipes which fed the kitchen, and $1400 to replace the pipes with PEX flexible pipe. It's expensive, but the quick response and professionalism are worth it to us.

I would recommend them to anyone. They were prompt and professional.

They were helpful and nice to work with. They've been very responsive. They call you when they are on there way over and they give you a 4 hour time window for when they will be out.
