Soderlin Plumbing, Heating, & Air Conditioning

Great. Very good about returning phone calls and answering questions between the estimate and the job itself.

Estimate process went well. Building maintenance man told me I was dealing with a very reputable company and I could trust them on the estimate and quality of repair.

Air conditioner and furnace replaced Venting reroute is very noisy. They were pricy. But, did a very good job. They are very nice, and knowledgeable. Overall, I am giving them a B grade. I am also going to use them in the future.

As usual, Soderlin showed up on time and got the work done quickly and properly. It's been about 6 years since my last call for a plumber (in the past - Soderlin replaced all the galvanized steel pipes, handled my plumbing reroutes during a remodel, and has replaced my water heater), and it was nice to see that Jeff, who did most of my work in the past, was still with the company.

Extremely competent and professional work completed at a very reasonable price.

We would definitely call them again, particularly when the provider that said they would come out changed their mind and told us to call someone else. Soderlin was easy to schedule a time.

We were scheduled at noon and the plumber arrived by 1:30. He quickly did the repair and had our project back on line. He was polite and helpful. He provided some good tips for the project.

Service went good, but afterwards the air flow in the 4th level was weak and didn't cool the level. The temperature reached 76 degrees. The temperature dropped down to 60 that night (august 22) which allowed the house to cool down. Called Soderlin 3 times that day (received voicemail each time) and 3rd call finally telling them I was putting a stop payment on the check of $3810 because the upper level reached 76 degrees when temp was set at 70 degree's. Technician came back that night but am not sure what he did outside to the unit. The technician that night noticed the air flow on the 4th level was not right and Soderlin would make things right. The next day Jason the owner called me telling me monday the Payne representative and himself would be out to look at the unit. The Payne rep and Jason did not show up, but instead same technician came to take readings and wouldnt say anything except Jason would call me back. Jason called back today 8/27 stating all the readings are good and theres no issues. I informed him the old A/C unit never had this problem and duct work never drip water. Again the owner son Jason says there's no problem and they will not fix the issues. I have taken it upon myself to call Payne Company to discuss Soderlin attitude on products there putting in for them. Today the August 27th called another A/C company to inspect the duct work and air flow problems so I'll be spending additional money to fix the problem. After further inspecting Soderlin work there are air leaks coming from the furnace where new coil was put in. which could explain why there are water leaks coming from the duct work. I have reported the Soderlin to the Better Business Bureau and have taken off the stop payment notice on the check so Soderlin can get paid for the lousy work and poor attitude when it comes to fixing problems. This is one company I will steer far away from.

Our house had original gas lines that were strung haphazardly across the ceiling in the basement and also lacked independent shut off valves. In coordination with the gas meter move, Solderlin recommended replacing and moving the gas lines to provide for the possibility of finishing our basement space. They promptly replaced the existing lines and walked us through scheduling an appointment with the inspector.

I contacted Soderlin following a recommendation from a colleague. Initially, the previous company had got a snake stuck in our main line sewer, attempting to clean out tree roots. Soderlin was readily available and answered upon my initial attempt to contact. I was impressed that they had staff outside of the regular 9 - 5 baloney that you often run into these days. Jeff called me almost immediately, and was highly professional and useful. He came out the next day, and was able to easily identify the issue with my main line. Jeff was also very, very good with follow-up, and as a courtesy he did not charge me for the initial estimate. I would recommend Soderlin and Jeff to any of my colleagues looking for fast, professional service.

Needed 2 visits, but overall went very well

Jeff Taylor from Soderlin's is the best plumber! Over the last 14 years he has replaced all of our pipes and done all the other plumbing in our house. He is punctual, professional and always does an excellent job. We would NEVER use any but him!

Unfortunately, Soderlin's estimate was 3x other estimates I received. As it turns out, because their estimate is for the job and is not broken up into labor, parts, etc., it was hard to tell what exactly they were charging for... I requested a revised quote to see how much it would cost to install just one radiator and the estimate only came down $1000 from roughly $4500. I would have liked to work with them given that they are a reputable company but I could not afford their price. It was hard to get in touch with the company and to get a revised estimate... I had to wait approximately three weeks for it.

Although this repair cost an arm and a leg due to the holiday weekend/emergency upcharge (I think it was more than time-and-a-half), we were very pleased with the responsiveness (same-day), punctuality (within hours) and quality of work completed. There's no sugar-coating it, these guys saved our lives on Memorial Day weekend at our rental property! We were there for a final cleaning before welcoming tenants the following AM and there was a significant, fluke plumbing issue (likely caused by a recent bathroom upgrade that might have accidently jarred a very, very old pipe). It was a holiday weekend and we had to get it resolved ASAP. It was a Murphy's Law situation -- and these guys saved the day and did great work. It was very expensive, but in this case, it was our only option. I"m not sure how their non-emergency pricing compares to others out there.

The service was prompt and professional, but the price was pretty shocking. Over $1400 for an ordinary 40-gal water heater?I This is after the angies'-list 10% off coupon. Nothing fancy about the installation. The estimate (first and only visit, they did the work right away) would have cost $60 if I didn't go with it, but in retrospect, I wish I had called another plumber. After getting phone estimates $300-$400 lower from other plumbers (after the fact), I spoke to the service manager and he said this is their cost, and they are a union shop so maybe others could be cheaper, but also that other shops would quote a low price on the phone, then raise it when they did the work.

This experience has taught me that just because a company is listed on Angies List, they aren't necessarily cheap and reliable. I wanted to hook up a gas dryer. They wouldn't quote anything over the phone, which is fine, I get that. But not even a ballpark? Then the guy who gets here says it will be $600 because of the shut off valve that needs to be installed. We asked how did you get to that number and he couldn't tell us. He said that they bill centrally and if we wanted to know we could call. He was right in front of me and got to that number, but I needed to call? I said that the number seemed high so maybe we weren't interested and he said that for the $70 service visit fee, he could leave. Long story short: I felt duped. I felt stupid. I will never use them again, and I urge you to think twice. On the plus side, the technician was quite kind. I think he must be used to this.

This was a weird experience. The city of Minneapolis came through on a Friday afternoon, and said they had detected the smell of gas in our basement. They said they were going to turn our heat off. They recommended Soderlin to look into the repairs. It was winter, and cold. Because it was late in the day on a Friday, Soderlin ended up charging us $1600. Two issues were, first, the city should have never done the detection on a Friday afternoon, then threaten to turn off our heat. Second, we were way over charged by Soderlin because it was the weekend. We were put in a box we couldn't get out of. I will never use Soderlin again.

I would recommend them. They were great. They're efficient and good at what they do.

Called for a quote, they refused to give me any pricing. Very annoying.

I had someone else come out prior to calling Soderlin. They said I needed a new boiler. They said they could balance the system for $750 but that it was probably going to continue to lose pressure and encouraged me to buy a $5000 boiler. I declined and called Soderlin. The guy who came out said that he recommended completely draining the backflow tank and bleeding all of the radiators. He said he could do it for around $500 but also said he would tell me how to do it if I wanted to give it a try myself. He gave me detailed instructions (it wasn't that difficult). Since completing the process the boiler has held it's pressure perfectly. Total cost was just the home visit fee.

Very well, prety much knew what problem was ahead of time, They were prompt, courteous and efficient. Not patronizing in discussion or explanation but respectful and professional. Went smooth, no surprises.

There was quick response time to my initial phone call. The repair person was there when he said he would be. He detected the location of the leak quickly, explained what needed to be done and why, and then completed the job quickly and professionally. Soderlins has done plumbing work in our home in the past and both times excellent work has been done. The only draw back is the cost of the job. Both times it was more than I expected. However, it was done right the first time confidently and professionally.
