Roofs Direct

Purchased a Big Deal on Angies List on Friday, July 10 for 50 lineal feet of 5? High Capacity gutters for $325 (this calculates out to $6.50 per foot). The provider (Gutters Direct) contacted me Saturday morning to schedule a time for an estimate. The estimator (Billy) called the day of the estimate and said he could come earlier than planned time. As for responsiveness and punctuality I would rate this company with an ?A? I knew my single story house had slightly more than 50 lineal feet of gutters (55 actual feet), and I also wanted to replace the 5 existing smaller downspouts. Prior to using Angies List, I did my due diligence to know the current rates for lineal feet of aluminum seamless gutters ($4-$9) and downspouts ($5-$8 per). Also, due to prior hail damage, my roof had been completely replaced two weeks earlier - re-decked and re-flashed. I explained this to Billy and also said that the old gutters did not need to be hauled away. Upon receiving the estimate, I saw that I was being charged for re-flashng ($120) and hauling away the old gutters ($72). Shocking as these were, the bigger shock was the charge of $68.50 per downspout ($342.50 for 5). My $325 deal was now $897.50. An additional $572.50 just to add 5 feet of gutter and replace the 5 downspouts. My roofing contractor provided an estimate for 30% less than the Gutters Direct estimate. Another installer provided a bid of $575 for the same work. By doing the math, both of these estimates were within the current rates. My experience is that this deal seems like a bargain, but should you want to add anything over and above what is stated you will be price gouged. Needless to say, I did not use this provider. As always, do your due diligence and be knowledgeable prior to entering a contract

Billy and I initially met regarding installing gutters on a portion of our 100+ yr old home. He educated me regarding the type gutters that are used on homes like ours (not typical). We chose a color that would match the trim of our home. He e-mailed me a quote within 24 hours. I accepted via e-mail. Lisa responded quickly and we set a date for install. Billy arrived on time the day of the install and also called to let me know that he would be running 15 minuted late. I really appreciated that courtesy. Unfortunately, he was midway complete with the install when I realized that he wasn't installing the color we had chosen. White vs. Cream Billy's notes stated white, but my memory of the conversation was different. No color was stated on the quote. Also, didn't make sense that I would choose a color that didn't match my home. They were very professional about this. They really wanted us to be happy so we set a date to have them redone - at no cost to us. It was a bit of an inconvenience to have to have them redone, but we understand that things like this just happen. Billy and Lisa really went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The competed product looks great and works perfectly. We really appreciate the companies great communication and professionalism.

I met with the former owner of the company to obtain a bid to have gutters and downspouts installed on my new home, he was very nice. My wife and I selected Autumn Beige which matched the trim of our house. The gutters and downspouts were installed in September 2014, I was not present during the installation. When I returned I found that the wrong color was installed (Adobe Cream color was installed instead of Autumn Beige). I called the owner to report these issues and also reported the improper installation of the downspouts which led to water running into my neighbors yard which led to their pool deck (flooding concern), and the downspout pipes which were not attached/secured to the downspouts (they blew off shortly after being installed). After my second call to the former owner, he dropped off a white elbow and a contractor sized bag of white headed screws and failed to fix the issues that I reported. The problem was acute enough that I rerouted the downspout myself to avoid flooding my neighbors deck and pool, and installed screws to ensure that the downspout pipes did not blow off of the house. I attempted to contact the company to get these issues resolved, on at least one occasion, an email sent to the former owner was returned as undeliverable. I later discovered that the company was sold shortly after my gutters were installed. I had a deck installed on my house and contacted the company again to obtain a quote to reroute one of the gutter downspouts and to ask about having the color issue corrected. I met with the employee who originally installed the gutters and downspouts (he was very nice). After reviewing the new work, I asked about the status of having the color issue corrected. He informed me that he did not notice that the color was wrong since he always wears sunglasses, he also blamed the old owner for telling him to install the wrong color gutters and downspouts. He informed me that the company was sold to a new owner, he would check with the new owner and get back to me. No representatives from the company called me back to provide an answer to my inquiry, or to provide a quote for the additional proposed work. I called the office and spoke to representative, explained the history of this issue, she informed me that she would speak to the new owner. I received a return phone call and was informed that the new owner did not want to bear the expense of correcting this issue, reportedly he felt that the issue was the previous owners problem (despite purchasing the company). She informed me that I should have contacted the company sooner to report this issue. I informed her that I reported this issue to the previous owner when I returned home shortly after the gutter was installed, in addition to another call and email attempts to reach him. I asked her or the owner to meet with me to view the gutters and downspouts to observe the color difference, and the repairs that I had to make (mentioned above), this offer was declined. I made several calls and sent multiple emails in attempt to resolve this issue with the old and new owners, I even offered contributing to the materials expense for the correct color gutters and downspouts in an attempt to resolve this issue, this issue remains uncorrected months later leading me to file this summary. The new owner never made any attempt to contact me to resolve this issue, I am left with gutters and downpipes that clearly do not match the paint on my home, it looked horrible. The job estimate for this installation did not specify the color of the gutters and downspouts to be installed (shame on the company for not including this in the job estimate). Now I will have to spend over two thousand dollars to fix this mistake since this company does not want to fix this obvious error on their part. I discussed this issue with a competitor (of Gutters Direct), they asked why the installer didn't call to check regarding the color difference, it was obvious that the color was wrong, their installers are trained to call and ask the home owner or manager if the color does not match- if Gutters Direct had made such a call, I wouldn't be dealing with this headache! Ironically, I also did not get the free Angie's List membership that was offered by this company if I signed up for their services! Update- I had a competitor install the correct color gutters on my home at my expense today (7/29/2015). The competitor reported that the gutters installed by Gutters Direct were not installed properly. He reported that the gutters were not pitched properly causing pooling water in the middle of sections of the gutters, brackets were missing, and brackets for the gutters were installed as much as ten feet apart! Also sections of screening installed by Gutters Direct to prevent leaves and debris from entering the gutters were not fastened properly to the gutters. The competitor laughed at the poor quality of Gutters Directs installation and questioned how Gutters Direct could have installed gutters which were obviously the wrong color. I also discovered that Gutters Direct overcharged me by overstating the number of feet of gutter needed on the roof (I was over charged for six additional feet of gutter by Gutters Direct). The new owner of Gutters Direct should have taken the time to come out to view his companies mistakes (and correct them) rather than fabricate excuses for not fixing an obvious problem especially when his staff agreed that the installed gutters were the wrong color!

I just can't say enough good things about this company. From the very beginning they have been very communicative. I called Lisa about getting someone out to do an estimate. She took my info so she could call me when she was back in the office. She called me back but I was busy and failed to answer my phone. I completely forgot about the gutter estimate and a couple days later she called me again. I so glad she did! Billy came out to do the estimate on May 28th. He took some measurements, made some notes, talked about different options and then he set about collecting the info he needed. We received an estimate by email that Sunday evening and I called Lisa Monday morning to schedule the installation. They were available to do it that Friday. Fantastic! Billy came out with another guy first thing in the morning on Friday the 5th and they got right to work ripping out the old nasty gutters and replacing them with new amazing gutters. They were even willing to work around a couple of rain barrels we purchased. Gutters Direct is: Professional Punctual Friendly Trustworthy Thanks Lisa and Billy!

They did an excellent job. They reviewed the entire house and advised what work needed to be done. They gave me a detailed estimate and break down of the services that needed to be preformed. The upgrades and additions work wonderfully. The day of service he worked on the job until completion. Over all a very positive experience.

Bill did a great job! He was punctual and professional, and very efficient. Bill showed me what he was repairing, and very kindly agreed to replace burnt out flood lights while up on his ladder. We will certainly call Lisa and Bill again!

Arrived on time. He worked alone. Completed the job in one day. Would suggest doing a good walk thru of grass and driveway. We found lots of nails and metal brackets lying about. Mentioning this only because of the possibility of flat tires or something getting caught up in the mower. We used them because we really needed new gutters and covers. More affordable than a lot of other gutter companies.

Billy was right on schedule for the estimate. He and Satish were very responsive in answering questions to my satisfaction. The job was done on time and I'm very pleased with my new gutters and downspouts.

Everything turned out wonderfully. We had an issue where there was a leak coming onto our front step. This was causing our front step to become icy and dangerous in the winter. The crew came out led by Billy and estimated the cost and what the problem was. They put on new gutters and a larger down spout on the front of the house. We have not had any issues with leaking onto our front step since the work was completed. I would hire them again for my gutter needs.

I purchased the deal on Angies list because it seemed like a good value and there were many positive reviews. I needed to motivate myself to call a gutter contractor, as I had been procrastinating, and the Angies list deal was appealing. The deal was a little bit undersized for my home, but I specifically didn't want to over pay. Derek called me and we set up a time to meet. He walked me through what we would need, the placement, design, etc. Also they had a lot of color options, which was a huge surprise and also a win. I got dark blue gutters to match the trim on our home, they just disappear. The company was very busy, so the scheduling took a few weeks, but we were flexible. They came and installed the gutters and downspouts based on the original plan, and it was great. They quoted me the extra cost above and beyond the Angies list deal, it was very reaonsable and below other quotes I had received. The Angies list deals are not for everyone, but if you need to jump start a project or just need somewhere to start, I would recommend the deal.

They responded within hours of my contacting them and came the same day to estimate. The salesman was very personable and informative and helped me select the features I'm pleased with. Work was scheduled within a few days. Two man team did the work, even removing a nest of hornets in the process. Cleanup.was good enough. Love the look and performance of the end product.

It went very well. My contacts with Derrick, on the phone and in person, were great. He was polite, knowledgeable and professional. When he came out to look at what I wanted done, he actually discouraged me from doing everything I was thinking about doing, pointing out that I really didn't need to replace a certain section that I was planning to replace. I really appreciate that sort of integrity. Derrick's crew did the work when they said they would and were a delight to work with. I highly recommend this company.

I was very impressed with the service. I pre-paid to buy the "deal". Derek came out to look everything over before scheduling the installation. He was very prompt in communicating with me via email as to when the installation would occur. The lead installer, Billy, called me the day prior to let me know he'd be coming, and then early the next morning again to let me know that they were on their way. The guys showed up when they were supposed to, on time, and did a great job. I will use them again in the future.

They were very responsive and quickly gave us an estimate for gutter cleaning for our townhome complex. I was pleased with their attention to our request.

Derek came out promptly to do an estimate for me and offer suggestions. After a small miscommunication of start time, installers Billy and Ed arrived early the next day, and walked me through the work to be done to confirm what I had discussed with Derek. They were extremely polite, professional, and most importantly personable, to both me and my wife. They did a great job, in a timely manner, and all this for substantially less money than two other competitors that I had quotes from. Very happy with the job, and no leaks!

They did a nice job. It was a very unique situation, as two houses are right against each other, and they were imaginative about how to hang a gutter between them. They were courteous and answered the phone. I would use them again and I'd recommend them.

Derek was responsive to email and able to come out for a quick estimate on the first day. The work was done quickly and well. The price was fantastic and the work was done correctly. I would use them again.

Derek came out the same day I called , went over the job with me and gave me a quote. I felt that the price was very fair for the job, sometimes I get prices and I'm like yeah right I'll do it myself. It also helped that Derek was ready to do the work the next day. So I agreed to the price and he told me Billy would be out the next day at 10:00. Billy showed up right on time and went over the job with me to make sure we were on the same page. Some people feel that is bad communication between the office and installers, I feel you should always double check with the customer to make sure you do the job right the first time. Billy worked all day in 90 degree weather until the job was done, he also took the time to make adjustments to my old gutters. After he was done he went over what he had done and made sure that I was satisfied. I feel that Derek and Billy did a great job and will not hesitate to refer them to anyone I know who needs gutter work.

Very well done. Took an extra day due to extreme heat. It certainly understandable.

The install went very well. The installer reviewed the job order with me and then performed the work. After the install, he showed me what he did. It was exactly what was expected.

I called Derek on Monday evening for a quote, he came out to our home within 30 minutes, and the installer was at our house by 10am on Tuesday. Most other places I had called couldn't even come out to quote me for at least a week, so their promptness was very impressive and appreciated. There was a little bit of poor communication between the quoter and installer, but nothing major. Like I said the installer was there by 10am and finished (160 linear feet + three downspouts so kind of a big job) by 6pm the same day. Pricing was extremely fair. I would certainly use Gutters Direct again and recommend them to my neighbors.
