RANDY'S HOME MAINTENANCE

Randy did a very thorough initial cleanup, cut and/or removed weed trees, weeds, etc., raked leaves and branches and mowed grass. Thereafter, mowed and raked approximately 2x/month. Bagged up yard waste and placed by alley for pickup.

The work was finished quickly, was well done and I would have used them again but I was treated extremely rudely. Upon completion I was given the receipt and told I could pay now or mail it in. Since I bank mostly online and was given the choice I said I would mail it the next day. Shortly after the men left, the owner called and said they were coming back to get a check. He was hostile from the moment that I answered the phone. He stated that they were "coming back to pick up a check because we are not going to do this". I said OK in a kind of puzzled voice and then he accused me of trying to cheat them by not paying my bill. I had not asked for the option to mail payment and had been ready to write a check at that time. But when given the choice, I elected the choice that I preferred - mail. They came back and I paid by check.

Randy was a little forgetful with phone messages etc., but once we got in touch, he was able to come out right away to do the work. He also followed up to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction.

Removing the tree proved harder than initially thought, but he managed it without damaging the stone wall along the front of the house.

Excellent results from a job well done.

I called and left a message on Saturday. Randy returned my call on Monday and cleaned the gutters on Tuesday.

I would highly recommend him. He is efficient and works rapidly with little down time. He thinks as he goes and sees what needs to be done to fix the problem and avoid further problems downstream. If he doesn't have the proper materials he stops and goes to get them. He is an ideal person to help less physically able people as he goes beyond the usual when needed.

I just had some construction done on my home, so the ground around my home was impossible to dig. I needed to have the ground broken up so I could plant. Randy was great. We talked on Monday morning about the job. I told him I needed to run to the store to buy some manure/compost for the area. So I called again on Tuesday morning and he said he'd be at my home around 1:00, which he was. He did a great job and helped me get the manure/compost laid out, and then tilled in the ground. I'd recommend him highly.

Outstanding work for a reasonable price.

Randy was very nice. He spoke with me about several other lawn projects that I was considering. He had quoted me $65 over the phone, but when it came time to pay, he said it was $75. I reminded him that he told me $65 or maybe $55. He said that he didn't remember and charged me $65. He doesn't really make appointments. You tell him the day that you want him to come, and then he tells you to call him that day to figure out what time he can make it over.

The 2 man crew was on time and spent nearly 3 hours cleaning up. Very professional. I thought the price was a bit high, but they did a very good job. This was my first experience using a hired crew for yard work. I would hire again. Randy returned my first call the next day. He also called the morning-of to assure me they would be there this day.

RANDY CAME AS REQUESTED. HAS PROPER EQUIPMENT TO DO JOB PROMPTLY. VERY GOOD JOB.

THEY CAME OUT VERY QUICKLY (THE SAME DAY!) I WASN'T THERE SO I DIDN'T INTERACT WITH THE ACTUAL CREW, BUT THEY DID A PRETTY GOOD JOB. SOME OF THE WEEDS TAKEN DOWN WEREN'T PICKED UP, BUT OVERALL THEY DID A GOOD JOB.

NEGATIVE,THE WORK WAS NEVER DONE, NOR DID I HEAR BACK FROM MR. KOLB. MR. KOLB WAS POLITE ON THE PHONE, SEEMED TO BE A REASONABLE PERSON TO WORK WITH.

RANDY IS A HOOT AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

OUR PREVIOUS LAWN COMPANY QUIT WITHOUT A NOTICE AND WE WERE DESPERATE TO GET OUR VERY LONG LAWN MOWED. RANDY CAME ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND DID A GREAT JOB. HE WAS VERY COMPETITIVE IN THE BIDS WE RECEIVED FOR LAWN SERVICE AND HAS BEEN GREAT AT RETURNING CALLS. I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT GETTING HIS NAME FROM ANGIE'S LIST. THANK YOU.

HE DID A GREAT JOB, WAS ON TIME AND VERY FRIENDLY. WE WILL CONTINUE TO USE HIS SERVICES IN THE FUTURE.

HE APPEARED TO BE VERY HONEST AND VERY HELPFUL REGARDING ANY QUESTIONS THAT I ASKED. HE ALSO GAVE ADVICE ON THE BEST WAY TO DEAL WITH UP-KEEP REGARDING MY GUTTERS, ETC.

I CALLED 3 DIFFERENT LAWN CARE COMPANIES KNOWING IT WAS LATE IN THE SEASON AND THEY MAY BOOKED OR FINISHED ACCEPTING JOBS FOR THE YEAR. RANDY WAS THE FIRST TO GET BACK TO ME. AFTER PLAYING A LITTLE TELEPHONE TAG OVER THE WEEKEND(MY FAULT...I AM TOUGH TO GET AHOLD OF, BUT HE KEPT TRYING). I TOLD HIM I WAS WILLING TO PAY A MORE SINCE I KNEW I WAS ASKING FOR A LAST MINUTE JOB. KNOWING THE AVERAGE WEEKLY MOW IS ABOUT $35, FALL CLEANUP ABOUT $150-$200, AND THE GUTTERS ABOUT $25 TO $40. I WAS EXPECTING TO PAY $275-$300. RANDY'S BILL CAME IN AT $185, WELL BELOW WHAT I EXPECTED. MY YARD LOOKED WONDERFUL. RANDY AND HIS SONS WERE COURTEOUS, PROMPT, THOROUGH AND PROFESSIONAL. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO HIRE RANDY IN THE FUTURE FOR ANY OF MY LAWN CARE NEEDS. IT WAS ONE LESS THING FOR ME TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT. NOW I JUST HAVE TO GET MY LAWN MOWER FIXED BEFORE NEXT YEAR, OR MAYBE, I WILL JUST CALL RANDY AND FORGET ABOUT FIXING THE MOWER. :)

RELIABLE, GOOD WORK. NOT GREAT AT COMMUNICATION - AMONG OTHER THINGS, WE WEREN'T ALWAYS SURE WHEN (OR WHETHER) THEY'D BE SHOWING UP. ALSO THEY BROKE THE HANDLE ON AN OUTDOOR (NON-WORKING) GRILL, IT ACTUALLY WASN'T A BIG DEAL BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE SOMEONE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. BUT THE WORK ITSELF WAS EXCELLENT, AND IN GENERAL WE'VE BEEN PLEASED. WE PLAN TO HIRE THEM AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

I THOUGHT RANDY MADE A GOOD EFFORT TO RETURN MY CALLS. HE IS PRETTY BUSY, SO HE WOULD USUALLY CALL BACK IN THE EVENINGS. HE FIT ME IN THE SCHEDULE, AND THEY CAME AND MOWED FOR THREE WEEKS. IT IS A REALLY GOOD VALUE. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAD WAS THERE WERE A FEW SPOTS WHERE THE GRASS HAD BEEN CUT VERY SHORT, BUT OTHERWISE I WAS HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE AND PRICES.

RANDY RESPONDED QUICKLY TO MY INQUIRY AND STARTED WEEKLY LAWN MOWING VERY QUICKLY AS WELL. HE DOES VERY GOOD WORK AND HAS A PROMPT RESPONSE AND GOOD SERVICE. HIS PRICES A LITTLE HIGHER THAN WHAT OTHER LAWN SERVICES HAD QUOTED ME, BUT I CAN'T COMPARE THE SERVICE TO OTHERS AS THIS IS THE ONLY LAWN SERVICE I'VE USED.

I CALLED HIM EARLY IN THE SEASON AND HE ASKED THAT I CALL HIM LATER IN THE SPRING. WHEN I DID CALL BACK HE RETURNED CALLS RIGHT AWAY. HE CAME OUT AND GAVE AN ESTIMATE AND GAVE GREAT SUGGESTIONS. HE TOLD ME HE WOULD TREAT MY YARD LIKE IT WAS HIS OWN, I WAS HAPPY TO FIND SOMEONE SO NICE AND HONEST.
