RANDY'S HOME MAINTENANCE

Randy and his crew have done a great job with my yard. They are reliable and make the lawn look really nice. I'll definitely be hiring them for future yard work, as well as for snow removal this winter.

I was selling my home and not living there during this process. I needed someone to maintain the yard rather than having to keep equipment there and go back every week to do it. He came by weekly and mowed and weed eat. He billed me every so often and was very easy to work with.

I called Randy and he personally answered the phone. He is very friendly and has a good sense of humor. I like to use businesses in my neighborhood. A huge storm had rolled through the neighborhood a few days earlier and he did say that he was very busy but would get to my house as soon as possible. Two days later he called in the morning to let me know that his crew would be by later in the day. Two young strong men showed up and got right to work. They were respectful, friendly and did a very good job. The gutters were spotless and they did not leave a scrap of debris behind. They also took a look at my roof and did not see any further damage from the storm. I totally trusted their opinion as they see a lot of roofs. I told them that my husband was not very handy and they had a little chuckle, saying that it was the third time today they heard that. Thank heavens for Randy's crew !

We called on a Sunday and left a message. We got a return call the next morning saying that someone would be out to the house that week to take a look and give us an estimate. Then... Nothing. And a whole lot of it. No visit. No call back. No response of any kind. I'm not going to chase down and beg another dime-a-dozen, unresponsive contractor to do work for me. Randy won't ever get another call from my house. Disappointing, too, because nearly 20 favorable reviews made me hopeful. Oh, well. Our business goes elsewhere.

I contacted Randy on Tuesday for an estimate on Aeration of my lawn and my two adjoining neighbors lawns. He was at my location within 1 hour and quoted me within reason. He came back the very next morning to begin the lawns and also to assist with a couple shingles that had fallen off (and some he found that were going to fall off) from some wind damage. He was very personable, easy going and enjoyable to work with. Since my first experience with him went to well I also began talking with him about some further exterior work on my home. If all goes well with this upcoming work, he should actually save us several grand by repairing some worn out window sills instead of the quotes we received to replace them.

Randy was responsive and helpful when we needed our gutters worked on last fall. He got back to me right away, and we were able to schedule it quickly and when it worked. The price was very fair, as we had other quotes that were much higher. I'd happily hire them again for other projects.

We have a contract with Randy's Home Maintenance for snow removal. We just snowed a foot so we need them today. Our contract ended March the first. The service costs $135 a month. The service was pretty good. He had this weird measurement for when he would come out and actually do snow removal. So sometimes that was a little bit irritating. We contracted with a snow removal service so that my husband could come and go from the house safely. If it snowed less than an inch and a half he wouldn't shovel. Which made it tricky for us to maneuver. So that was kind of frustrating. Sometimes timeliness was frustrating because if it was a big snow fall he wouldn't come out until the snow stopped falling. And you wanted someone to come and clear you like at the three or four inch march and then come back if it kept snowing, but he wouldn't come out until the snow stopped which sometimes was a lot of snow, so you were trekking to your car to the house in a lot of snow. It makes sense for him to wait until the snow stops, but you know mind when you are thinking you are getting snow removal service you are thinking I need to come to and from my house with a relatively clear path. If if it was forecasted to be six inches of snow, he came half way and then came the day later, that would be more helpful than waiting for the entire snow to fall. I mean I understood it, but sometimes it was just a little bit frustrating. I like not having to shovel my own snow, I like that he is in our neighborhood, that was really great. It was nice that he was based in our neighborhood. That was really nice and he was really timely if I would call him, he would call me back in a pretty timely manner. His price was relatively competitive.

Snow removal is an interesting phenomenon as there is no certainty as to when it would stop. He charges a flat rate but the price is fair. Whenever I was gone for a while he would come out and shovel every day. He does the job even when I am traveling. He is quite responsive, cordial and polite.

When they came, the service was OK. However, the firm appeared more focused on minimizing the number of times they plowed rather than customer benefits. When they did come, it was later and less often than my neighbors, who use a different service. Since I was paying a monthly fee, that equation did not work well for me.

They were great. They did more than I expected them to do and exceeded my expectations. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I called and spoke to Randy. He said that he could have someone come out the same day. Since winter was approaching, he wanted to get the job done before everything froze. His crew came out the same afternoon and completed the job. They left a bill in my mailbox. (I had had them do gutter cleaning before; I don't know if they would have been as trusting if I hadn't) They cleaned up completely. I have to trust that the gutters are clean way up there!

I have been using Randy's lawn and yard services for over 10 years (my last report was in 2001) and remain very satisfied. His crews mow, clear leaves (and there are plenty of them!), plow a long, double-wide driveway and hand-shovel snow from my walks and steps. Randy is very flexible. If I ask him to skip a mowing due to excessive dryness, he will oblige. If I ask him to mow no lower than 3.5", he will oblige. At my request, his crew leaves grass clippings on the lawn. He is willing to discuss any concerns I might have. Recently, my city prohibited the use of plastic yard bags. Last year, I reported that the recyclable plastic bags they used had burst from the weight of the leaves. This year, his crew is taking the leaves away altogether and bringing them to a site in Inver Grove Heights. A nice, ecological touch. Thanks to Randy, Ron and crew.

I called for an estimate for aerating my lawn. Randy returned my call and gave me an estimate, which was competitive with another company. What Randy did, that the other company didn't, was advise me about aerating in the current drought conditions, i.e., that aeration wouldn't be as deep or effective due to the lack of rain. He suggested that we monitor the situation. After a week of watering my lawn, and with a prediction of rain for the coming week, I called and asked if he could schedule the job. He came out the next day. Unfortunately, the predicted rain didn't occur, but I'm still glad to get the lawn aerated. I recently moved into the property, and was pretty sure it had never been done. (After removing some sod around a stressed tree, the soil was dry as dust, even after an inch + of rain the night before; so even when it did rain, the water wasn't making it through the sod.) If necessary, I'll aerate again next spring. Meanwhile, I will overseed and fertilize in time for this weekend's rain prediction, and hope it pans out. I would definitely use this company again -- great experience.

Randy came over to check out the job. He asked what we wanted done and we agreed on a price. Very easy to work with. They did a great job and cleaned up very well. They did it a day earlier than planned, which was unexpected, but not a bad thing.

I called a few places for quotes. Randy was very responsive and came out in person to meet with me and review the size of the yard. He was very personable and I felt like he was truly invested in the quality of service his staff would provide. I chose to work with this company because they felt trust-worthy and I thought the price was very reasonable. I pay them $125 per month to mow the lawn and/or shovel the walks and driveway. The work they've done on the yard is outstanding - a nicer job than either my husband or I would have done.

Randy was originally going to come the next day, but my dad was trying to organize his closet the same day, so Randy managed to fit him in after his last appointment on the SAME day, which we really appreciated. The rod was to be installed in the lower half of the closet, the upper rod also had to be raised a bit. He ended up doing the job, and the rod does function, however, the wood blocks that attached to the closet side walls (which support the rod) should have been pre-drilled, before putting the rod screws in. Because they were not, afterwards, my dad noticed that the wood had cracked / split somewhat, when Randy screwed in the support rod. We felt that the job could have been done a bit better, overall, quality-wise, but it does work.

He is very hands on, reliable, family owned business and we have been using him for ten years.

They are a good company and I am very happy with their service. They are dependable and will be willing to help you out earlier if you are in need.

They were very good. We had no issues. I would rate them all A's.

Initialy when I called, they called back right away. They thought they could get out right away to do an estimate and indicated that they had capacity to do the job in the next week. It took a few days for them to come out and when Randy did come out he was very thorough and asked really good questions to clarify my needs. The challenge suddenly became I wanted an estimate or bid for the project - they wanted to do the project on a time and materials basis. I tried to let them know that I would be reasonable if they ran into unforseen situations - but I at least needed an idea of the size of the project before I committed. Randy indicated he was going to need to chat with "his boys" and it was another week before I could get an estimate from them. I did select them,And they did a wonderful job. And they cleaned everything up. The end result was really great.

Great finish. Thought that they would be here sooner but it didn't really matter as I had explained to Randy I was not in a rush. It got done and done well.

During our brief conversation Randy mentioned that they had been in business for 26 years. I said that was impressive given the economy since 2008. He said they remained in business because they were honest. For whatever reason, I believe him. Just before Randy left he said he was on Angie's List and asked me if I was familiar with it. I said I was which made him smile. I told him that was worth a million in advertising. I've obviously found him on Angie's List, just as he said and the reviews are good and he has POH nominations. I always have work to be done around my house and I will call him in the spring for mowing. I believe chance encounters of this type happen for a reason.

They are punctual. I plan to use this company again in the future.

He was quick and prompt. His price was a fraction of everyone else.

The lawn aeration was thorough and timely. We've used Randy's services at other times and find him and his sons to be responsible and knowledgeable.
