I called Nokomis the morning I discovered a water stain on my ceiling after a big downpour. They were out within 2 hours and had the problem identified and corrected the same morning. Great response time on a busy morning.

Nokomis Roofing sent someone out to our house and provided the estimate we requested. The estimate seemed very professional. But even better, the estimator told us that we really don't need to replace our roof for several years. We appreciate the honesty! Since the estimator said the work could wait, we decided not to do the project at this time.

I had been searching for 6 months for a company to replace a skylight which was 20 years old. The extra twist was that we installed a metal roof a few years ago .It took me considerable time trying to locate someone who would remove metal roofing AND install a new skylight that was not the same spec as the older one. It was a relief to talk with Nokomis Roofing and they said they could do it all! They did and it was an excellent job. Very professional and skilled contractors.

It was very strange and frustrating experience which leads me to believe my job, had he done it, would have been more of the same..

We have had a leaky roof for many years. It had been repaired about 5 years ago but it leaked again (some old and some new places). We really wanted it to be fixed completely to prevent further damage. Nokomis came out and did a really thorough check, removed flashing around the chimney, and examining areas above and around that area. We were really impressed with how thorough they were and how realistic they were as well. They found three holes, including one under a window well. They put a lot of effort into making sure things were fixed. They were also very patient, explained everything thoroughly and were highly professional. The person who did the repairs, Jose, was very considerate, careful and thorough with his work. It seems the repairs have worked, but we'll know more when it rains more. They will come out again if a new leak shows up.

In 2007, I contracted with another roofing company for the installation of a rubber-membrane hip roof for an accessory building in my back yard. Unfortunately, I did not do my Angie's List homework. My experience with this contractor was dreadful from start to finish, and I subsequently learned that this contractor has requested that his company be removed from Angie's List. The rubber membrane he installed failed and I contacted the company to take a look at the roof after I discovered tears in the seams of the rubber membrane. The contractor refused to honor the 10-year warranty. I researched Angie's List and asked Nokomis Roofing for an estimate to fix the roof. The owner, J.R., came to my house and inspected the roof. He asked me whether I wanted "the good news or the bad news." The good news was that he could patch the seams. The bad news was that the entire rubber membrane had to be replaced. The roof was only 4 years old. JR gave me a choice of simply replacing the same rubber membrane installed by the previous contractor or using a more advanced roofing material for a little more money. He showed me a sample of the material and was right up front about cost and a warranty. He also told me that he would return to my house one year after installation to inspect the roof and said he would come to my house during the winter to remove heavy snowfall from the (flat) roof he replaced. J.R did most of the work himself and documented the various stages of roof replacement with pictures he sent via e-mail. I was extremely satisfied with the experience and believe there are several reasons Nokomis Roofing gets an Angie's List "A" rating. Among them are: (1) quality of work; (2) no hidden or unexpected costs; (3) excellent customer communication skills, and (4) punctuality. J.R. takes great pride in his work. In addition to replacing the roof, I hired Nokomis Roofing to clean my gutters and to replace a metal collar stack. I intend to use him for all my future roofing needs.

Everything went very well. We are very pleased with our experience with Nokomis Roofing and would definitely use them again.

The process went extremely well. Nokomis came out last year to gives a bid on a new roof. They said our roof was in ok condition and we could wait a year or two if we wanted. We told them we were getting a small water stain and they got up on the roof to take a look. He sealed the spot where we had the leak and didn't charge us a thing. This year, we decided to not push our luck and called Nokomis again, partly because of their honesty and helpfulness the previous year. They were very helpful and patient as we chose the shingle colors, giving us addresses where we could go and look at the shingles on an actual roof. The day they came out to start tear off was extremely hot and several workers had to go home due to the heat. This put them behind schedule but they stayed until past 9pm to ensure the roof was water tight since we were expecting (and got) a large storm that night. The foreman was very apologetic and explained the situation. We were very impressed. There was no water leaking and they finished up the next day. The crew did a great job cleaning up and the roof look wonderful. The neighbors were all very impressed both with the crew and the appearance if the new roof.. When done, a manager came out to make sure we were happy, see if it went ok and take a look at the roof and ensure his crew cleaned everything up. We would highly recommend Nokomis Roofing to anyone looking for a new roof.

Nokomis Roofing, w/JR, LeeAnn, and the Crew were great! I have recommended them already to friends. They explained what, how, and why they were going to do to my roof. Which is a good thing because all I know about roofs is there are shingles up there and it covers my house. They cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day of work and actually did more than requested. I can't say enough about them. I also thought the price was reasonable.

They are very professional. They arrived a bit early for the estimate, which I appreciated greatly. They explained all available options to me but also had a strong point of view on what would be best for my roof (a membrane was recommended). They took their time to answer any questions that I had and provided a detailed scope of work and estimate on the spot. Also, they are very friendly, courteous and professional. In the end, I chose another roofing company due to price. I believe that Nokomis installs only high quality products that will last a long time - they stand by their work that way. I am moving out in 1-2 years so I chose a slightly less expensive option.I strongly recommend that you include Nokomis when selecting a roofing contractor - they will be ontime for your estimate and provide a price in a short amount of time. Hassle-free.

we requested an estimate in late february to make sure that we had sufficient time to get estimates, leeann was very prompt and quickly provided us with estimates at different price points based on the different classes of roofing materials available. we locked in the pricing and the materials for installation in april. when the weather stabilized we scheduled installation and they were dead on in their estimates. the crew arrived early and worked throughout the day. they were polite and very efficient. we were very satisfied with the quality of the work. the cleanup (always a source of concern when some level of demolition is involved) was first rate. we found very few nails in the yard.

It was a very positive experience working with JR and Nokomis Roofing. As I said, he came out immediately and accurately assessed the problem. He put some sort of substance on the roof which sealed it and stopped the dripping in the kitchen. He told us that the problem was more extensive and needed additional work. His estimate was reasonable and fair. He came out a few more times to work on it, twice on the weekends, and once just to check to make sure that it still was not leaking. He performed corrective work (without additional charges) because he discovered that some things on the roof were not correctly installed. He was genuinely invested in making sure it was done right, not just a short term fix. He also educated us about rubber roofs and provided an assessment of the overall condition of our roof and when it might need replacement. Because rubber roofs are so expensive, he gave us an estimate of what it might cost in the future, allowing us time to plan. JR was professional, friendly, and informative. He exceeded our expectations, but he clearly holds himself and his workmanship to a high standard, which we gratefully appreciated. He is the one will call for any roofing questions or future work.

Nokomis kept putting me off as to when they could perform the work. They would not give a definite price. I hired a different company.

JR and Leann provided excellent customer service and communication, from the initial visit to the contract signing to the follow up visit to inspect the work and determine that I was satisfied. I was able to thoroughly discuss my interests and concerns regarding the project. JR is very knowledgeable and experienced and is sensitive to the need of homeowners to consider the long term and cost concerns in choosing roofing. Everything was explained thoroughly and all my questions were answered and lots of additional suggestions made that I'll likely follow up and have more work done (including more work by JR, who would also address carpentry for doors and windows on the garage, and gutter and rain barrel installations). The price paid may be a little higher, but definitely is worth it for the quality of product, workmanship, and overall experience. Once I had decided on the project it went ahead very quickly - the work was done within a week of the original estimate. I have one concern regarding the scheduling of the appointments, that both JR and Leann arrived half an hour early for appointments and I wasn't expecting them...perhaps they can let people know they might come earlier, or set a range for the appointment time.

I had leaking around my hot water heater vent pipe. I chose this company because of the high ratings and that they have "roof repair" listed which some of the larger companies won't do. He was VERY responsive ove the phone. We played phone tag a few times in one day, which most contractors won't bother doing. He was very personable over the phone and agreed to come over at my earliest convenience. In person he was also very personable, friendly, and courteous. I brought him into my attic to show him the leaking area. He then asked if it was OK to climb my roof and I agreed. A few minutes later he came down and said he fixed my issue. The vent wasn't sealed properly and he had gone ahead and sealed it for me. He was so prompt, courteous, professional, and friendly that he WILL be my go-to guy for all roof related jobs in the future. UPDATE: A few weeks later we had a nasty thunderstorm, but I had forgotten completely about this issue by then. The next evening I get a knock at my door. It was a woman saying that she worked at Nokomis Roofing and the owner had asked her to swing by my house on her way home (since she lived nearby) and check on us to make sure the leaking was resolved!!! I was blown away, because I had forgotten about the issue, but he hadn't. I told her that we hadn't heard any of the leaking drips that brought the issue to our attention the last time (and I listened more intently in future storms and didn't hear anything, so the issue is indeed resolved). This was a minor job for Nokomis Roofing that was probably barely worth their time and effort, and this is the type of service they provide. Outstanding! Just imagine the customer service they give on a high-value job. I'm so glad that I don't have to look for a roofing contractor for my future needs; these guys have my business.

I initially contacted JR on a Tuesday in January via e-mail. He responded promptly inquiring whether he could come to do the inspection the next day or the day after (Wednesday or Thursday). I e-mailed him back with my available times and took Thursday off of work in anticipation of his selecting that day as I was available during regular business hours. I got no response from him to confirm a time the remainder of the day Tuesday or all day Wednesday, so I e-mailed him to let him know I was no longer available on Thursday. He e-mailed me back early Thursday morning stating that he understood and apologized for not contacting me sooner. I contacted JR again last week and he responded promptly via e-mail and phone. He came to inspect our roof today. We were concerned we had damage from ice dams the winter before last, but he let us know that the roof looked fine but there were condensation issues in the attic. He recommended additional insulation in the problem areas, making sure the soffitt vents were clear, and being diligent about raking the roof during the winter. He said the DIY project would cost us about $100. A previous consultation with a different contractor had brought forward the recommendation to have additional roof vents installed over the problem area. When that scenario was presented, JR stated that was a common mistake made by amateurs and professionals alike and adding the roof vents would create more problems than solutions. He directed us to a website to further illustrate his point. JR was very personable, straight forward, and didn't recommend work we didn't need just to get the job. With JR's professional opinion and recommendations in hand, we will do the work ourselves, but would not hesitate to recommend Nokomis Roofing to others.

On time for estimate appointment. Estimate received in a reasonable amount of time. 20% cheaper than other estimates. Recommended against having some work performed even though it would have increased the size of the job. Scheduled the work to be done, arrived on time, crew was polite, all debris cleaned up and work completed successfully. Provided photos of work done in areas not easily accessible to me. Followed up to be sure we were satisfied.

I was happy with the service. The price was fair. I would recommend them.

The people from Nokomis Roofing came to my house at the time agreed upon and spent a good amount of time troubleshooting and coming up with ideas to pinpoint the problem. Since it is winter and the roof is not easily accessible, we rescheduled for spring to do some leak tests to verify whether the roof or the windows are the source of the problem. This is the second time Nokomis Roofing has visited my house to give advice and help solve problems and they have always been on time, professional, and friendly, even though I haven't even had work done yet!

The customer service was excellent. Phone calls were returned immediately. J.R., the owner, provided a detailed plan and full information about all of the options available. The workers were very neat, polite and safety conscious. They discovered some broken shingles on the roof and fixed them at no cost, though this was outside the scope of the project. There were other small fixes that were also outside the scope of the project. This company is clearly focused on quality. I plan to rehire Nokomis Roofing to do additional work, and I highly recommend them.

He came and left without an estimate provided.

They came out right away and the roof has not leaked since. I like that they were willing to fix their mistake.

He was a smart guy and his quote was high. So I did not get back to him. His quote was roughly $7000. I got the impression like he was doing me a favor even to come here. So he was not customer oriented or even a good business man. He was on time. But he gave the feeling that he was doing me favor to come over here even though he lives closer than any other contractor. He is just six blocks from here. I do not want to have any further interaction with him.

It went fine. They helped us pick out the right color of shingles because that was a little dicey for us. They were very fast. The workers were super nice and super polite. They were really helpful. They did it very efficiently and faster than we anticipated. They cleaned up everything. They were really good. Their price wasn’t the cheapest in the world but it was fair and their work was really good. It was a pretty big roof and there was a lot of work they had to do. They were very good to work with. JR was very nice. The office manager was excellent to work with and was very helpful. They gave us a quote very quickly. They seemed to give us the information we needed to make a decision. They brought out boards with the samples to look at. They gave us stuff online, as well. We had questions because our roof was old and they were very helpful about that. They also gave us referrals for other work we need to have done. It was good material and the price was better than other companies. It was a more current product. They were always available and they always called us back. They were very good at communicating. They were here bright and early and they worked until dark. They worked hard.

'JR responded promptly to my initial call. He is professional and efficient. He updated me several times throughout the entire process and even did some extra work that wasn't in the original bid. It was very comforting having such an ''involved'' owner, especially since I am in one state and my commercial building is in another. I would definitely use Nokomis Roofing again. In fact I am also getting a bid for some residential work to be done inside the upstairs apartment.
