Description of Work: We had a small roof leak. They repaired it and the repair is working (as best as I can tell anyway). However, It took a few weeks for them to get to our house (fine it wasnt an emergent repair) and the only way we found out that the work was done is that an invoice was placed in our mail slot. I feel like they probably did fine work, but it would have been nice to get a call that the work had been done or our check had been received or some kind of communication.

Description of Work: Contacted provider for bid. Said would get bid. After not hearing from provider after a couple weeks asked if was going to still bid on roof. Said in a couple days. Never got bid. Would have preferred he told me he was too busy at the moment or didn't want to bid instead of leading me on or being non responsive

Description of Work: They did a tear off and replace of a roof of a small addition, and put in a skylight. The roof was about $2000, and the skylight was about $2,200 including the operable Velux roof window skylight, blackout blind, and pull down screen (I mention the brand because at least half of the cost of the skylight was materials). They used quality materials, and at least one owner was present and working on the job along with their employees and contractors. | |Per our agreement, I did the final finishing work of the molding inside (staining and varnishing), but they took care of repainting the ceiling after installing the Skylight. | |They cleaned up well afterward, inside and out. I LOVE my new skylight. | |Weather caused delays in the schedule, both weather on days where they were scheduled to work on mine, and weather on days working on other projects that then delayed the start time of mine, but I felt that they prioritized my small roofing job just as highly as others, and worked hard to complete it in a timely manner.

Description of Work: He came out to work up a bid in mid-May to reroof our house and said he'd drop off the bid in a few days. As of the end of June we haven't received a bid so we have concluded that they weren't interested in doing the job. We had read good reviews about them and liked the guy who came out and were looking forward to getting a bid. Really don't know what happened, but figured that if he didn't bring it by now, he's not interested. It would have been nice if he had just told us that at the time.

Description of Work: I used Angie's List to select tho provider to answer roofing questions for me for a possible potential roofing project on a home I was looking at to purchase. Nokomis Roofing called immediately and fully answered my questions in a professional manner, providing much information I had not thought of. I did not purchase the home but I would definitely contact and use this company for a roofing project in the future.

+ 0 moreI called Nokomis Roofing to deal with an enormous ice dam on my grandmother's roof. There was a ton of snow on her roof and water was leaking inside her home- what a mess! J.R. of Nokomis Roofing went out to her house and dealt with the problem very efficiently. He was most helpful and didn't "gouge" my grandmother on price- like a lot of companies are doing in this season of ice dams. He was GREAT to work with and very honest. I really felt good about him working on my grandmother's house. I would DEFINITELY use him again and highly recommend him.

+ 0 moreVery courteous when I called in the evening to set up a next-day appointment; arrived promptly and assessed the problem. Gave me a few different options to deal with it and explained how much each would cost and what the pluses/minuses would be of each approach. This was very helpful to me, since I don't know much about roofs and if he'd just said "You need to do X and it will cost this much," I would have had to agree but would have been uncomfortable with not knowing if there was perhaps a cheaper-but-serviceable option, or an expensive-but-really-good option . . . having choices made me feel better about the whole thing. JR was helpful, professional and thorough. I will certainly recommend him to friends and will call again with any other roofing issues (and God knows the winter has only begun, so . . ). Very good experience overall--glad to see the Angie's List recommendations, glad to see they held so true!!

+ 0 moreWe contacted J.R. of Nokomis Roofing to help us with our ice dam problem, and he was one of the few people we contacted who was able to come out within a day to look at our place. He spent about about 45 min, during which time he diagnosed our likely problems (which were a bit different than the normal ice dam situation), shoveled off our rear roof, and raked snow off our second story eaves. Throughout he was friendly, polite, professional, and a real straight-shooter. In the end, he advised us the cheapest solution in the short term was not to hire him but rather use de-icer ourselves. I offered to pay him for the work and consult but he refused! Believe it or not, he stopped by later that day when we were out and used his own de-icer on our main problem spot. He inspired confidence and we intend to hire him in the spring to fix the problems he pointed out.

+ -1 moreI called JR looking for someone to shovel my 1200 sq ft rambler (plus garage). The house has a hipped roof. JR said that he would prefer to rake, doing a maintenance program. The first visit is $50 and then he would come out after additional 2plus inch snowfalls for $25. I have a very difficult lot line on the back of my house and you cannot get a snow blower back there. JR got as much snow as possible off the roof back there and then hand shoveled the side walk. He came out the same day that I called and did a very nice job.
Description of Work: Raked roof about 10 feet up and used snowblower/shovel to clean up ground area afterwards.

+ -1 moreThe contractor was fabulous. The roof of my house is with a lot of twists and turns and kind of complicated, but, he still managed to do the job. The supplier delivered wrong materials, which the team of Nokomis Roofing Company started to fix. Then we asked the contractor, he gave us two options; one he would replace the shingle with the ones? that were chosen or reduce the bill by $3000. I asked him to replace with the ones? that were chosen. He got the same done. One project was delayed due to unfortunate circumstances, but, we were fine with it, as the quality of work was good. After the work was done, he came several times to check if everything was fine. We have not had any leakages after that. I will definitely use his services in the future.

I had to wait until after June 12 for my money to be available and there was a delay due to rain, so the job did not start until 6/21/09 and was completed the same day. I believe there were six men working on the roof. They were all very considerate and polite and they worked very hard. There was no loafing on this job. The owner of the company, JR was very nice to deal with and I feel he was very fair and honest. He and the workers valued quality work. This is a great company and I would recommend them highly.
Description of Work: I had a complete tear off and new architectural shingles installed along with a ridge vent, exhaust vents for bathroom and kitchen fans and plumbing stacks, water/ice shield install new metal no return ringlet chimney flashing (black), plus clean up.
