J.R. from Nokomis Roofing came out to look and give us an estimate of costs within a couple days of calling. The job was scheduled for the next week and completed within a day's time. The workmanship is great and we are very happy with the work. The crew working on the roof were very respectful and friendly. Clean-up job was great! We would definitely recommend Nokomis Roofing.

Nokomis Roofing responded promptly to my request for an estimate, which was the lower of two estimates we received for the job. They did quality work, completed the job quickly and professionally, and made sure we were happy with the results.

. In late February, I came home and noticed that all of the ice was shoveled off the roof. I contacted your office repeatedly but received no bill, which I thought was odd. This summer, when my roof started leaking, I went to inspect the roof and now I believe I know why I was not billed for the work. There is an actual punched hole in the roof. Other damage includes includes torn and missing shingles, scuffed off granules into the asphalt/fiberglass matt and pic axe or hammer holes through the shingles, prevalent over 75% of the roof. This roofing damage has resulted in water leaking through my house. I have had the roof inspected and they came to the same conclusion that the roof (which is only a few years old) was damaged by improper ice damage removal. I am looking for the company to stand behind their work and pay for the damage. I have contacted the company but they have not responded.

It was a good experience. It was not something that I was looking forward to having to deal with and they did a terrific job. They actually returned our phone calls right away and they showed up when they said they were going to. They told me that they would get to the job and they did it. They finished on time and they cleaned up enough. They put the roof up just before it started raining very heavily. The owner of the company has great communication skills. He really pays attention and takes responsibility for what he is doing. He just did absolutely phenomenal work.

When my roof started leaking due to an ice dam, other ice dam removal companies were not answering the phone or were taking reservations for weeks in the future. Nokomis was able show up in a couple days after my call and take care of my ice dam and remove the snow that fed the ice dam. My only complaint was that they removed the ice by chipping and pounding instead of by steam. There was some minor shingle damage, but I had no more leaking from the roof for the rest of the winter. Overall, I was happy to get my ice dam problem taken care of promptly at a reasonable price. If I need ice dam removal again, I'll probably try to get it removed with steam which seems to be the best method to avoid any roof damage.

LeeAnne and owner JR came out and replaced the broken bulb, gave me replacement fixture and the money it would cost for the repair. They again apologized and moved quickly to make it right. Yes I would hire Nokomis Roofing Co. to do roofing and ice d*** removal because they stand by their work. In today's world when a company goes the distance to make right -it is very much appreciated!

The job was great overall. I thought they were very responsive to my call. They were the people who called me back most quickly. I thought when they came out they did a good job and I thought they charged me a fair amount to get the work done. I just thought they were pleasant and professional and I would use them again. They were booked a little heavily and they didn't quite make it out when they were supposed to.

Nokomis Roofing was able to come out promptly and clear off our roof.

I've had them out twice in a couple of weeks. The first time they were a few hours later than they said but I appreciated that they came the day after I called. The second time, they came that very afternoon. Both times were for 1.5 hours of work by two men who were very nice. Both times cost $375 (each).

Called JR on Tuesday. He said he could have a crew out of Friday. The crew arrived on Friday as promised. We surveyed the roof and he gave me an estimate that they could do half of the second story roof in an hour, and it would be 2 to 2 1/2 hours to do the complete second story roof. I agreed to them working up to 2 1/2 hours. They ended up doing the complete second story roof and the lower (porch and sunroom roof) in the 2 1/2 hours.The crew members were polite and left the work area clean. With the snow melt on Saturday, I had no issues - the roof being completely free of snow. If you are looking for someone to use a steamer to remove the snow and ice - then this is not the company for you - BUT, if you just want the snow and ice removed - these guys can do the job well.

EXCELLENT service and professionalism. I had ice dams like so many others. JR called me back and took the time to explain how they form are removed etc. I didn' t get to use their service since i had a family member help out but when I need to hire someone in the future for ice dam/snow removal or an new roof I will most certainly be calling Nokomis Roofing. I just get so excited when I actually get great customer service!!!

Great experience -they worked really hard to get dams cleared before they did any more damage to interior walls and gave advice how to help remedy the situation. The owner let my kids (and me) play with his adorable St. Bernard which was a bonus!

I had a buildup of snow and ice on the front portion of my roof, and just noticed Saturday evening (2/12/11) that a stain had appeared over one of the windows in my sunroom. Not a dire emergency, but with temperatures forecast to be in the 30s and 40s this week I was concerned that further leaking/staining might occur. I called Nokomis Roofing because of the good reviews I'd seen on Angie's List, and was not disappointed. I left a message on both the main and alternate lines, and had a call back from J.R. within an hour or so. He said he would swing by and take a look later in the afternoon, after a couple of other stops. He was here less than 2 hours after that call. We discussed the roof and the ice buildup, he got up on the roof to look at it, and ended up shoveling the snow and prying off the ice that I'd been unable to move with my roof rake. J.R. was very easygoing and friendly, and provided some pointers on roof ventilation I hadn't heard before, plus he referred me to a web site where I could read more (always appreciated). I still need to figure out why the leak happened in the first place, but I feel better knowing that the ice and snow have been removed so more leaking shouldn't be an issue for now. J.R. did point out that I should be roof raking after *every* snowfall (I had not been doing that, hoping that my relatively new insulation job would take care of the ice dam issue). He said that Nokomis Roofing does offer roof raking services for $40 per visit, and they have long rakes that can reach farther up on the roofline than mine does. I will consider this for future snowfalls.

We had some ice build up near a roof vent and when the thaw began we got some seepage on a wall and ceiling. Knowing that we were in for a big warm up, we knew we needed it taken care of quickly. When we described the situation to JR, he actually came to our home to look at it personally. He gave us a quote for an hour-long project and was able to get us on the schedule within 24 hours. Even though it took his crew 90 minutes to clear that area of the roof, they were willing to honor the original quote. We insisted on paying more and worked out a fee that we were both happy with. It was a great experience from beginning to end.

Great. I had some water in the house and called them at 8:30 AM and they said they were very busy but could get over late in the afternoon. They didn't actually get to my house until about 6PM and cleared the roof and ice dams in the dark. When finished they went next door and cleared my neighbor's roof and were there until about 10PM! Very courteous, good job. I have an elevated deck in the back of the house and they cleared that of snow as well.

The service we got last Sunday from JR was quite prompt, and really helped us relieve the stress from worry over ice dam/water leakage in our kitchen area and over the outside garage door. We were very satisfied with his service. I must add that we used JR earlier sometime in November to clear snow from our roof, which he did by snow raking. We were quite with that earlier service as well.

We called because we were having ice dam problems. JR came right on time, got us in the next day. He and his crew were punctual and very professional. He came back to review the job with us and went out of his way to make sure everything was right. A few days later I called him (on a Saturday) to help me resolve a problem caused by the high amount of snow this season and a neighbor's leaky basement. He came out the same day and looked at the situation and offered to send one his people out first thing to take care of it. The job was done on time and at half the estimate. Again he went out of his way to be sure we were happy.

I called JR late last week and he committed for today. His crew showed up as expected and removed the ice dams that I had asked to be removed. They did a nice job, and worked fast and hard.

The ceiling in our home office started leaking on Sunday afternoon. I called Nokomis Roofing on Monday morning and Left a msg. JR called back promptly and scheduled an appt for Monday late afternoon to assess the problem. We have had numerous issues with our roof leaking during heavy rains but this was the first issue we have had with snow. JR took the time and looked at our attic in addition to the leak. He was very knowledgeable. We will definitely have them back to make the repairs come Spring. We highly recommend them!

On Saturday evening I realized I had water dripping through my ceiling. This room is an addition and it has a "shed" roof with a rubber roof. It was too late to call anyone so I waited until Sunday morning. I called and a gentleman answered. He informed me that he was driving and asked me to wait until he could pull to the side of the road. I explained my problem and that I live in Anoka. He said that he would not be able to come right away but would get the work done that day. About 3 hours later JR arrived and set right to work. He shoveled the roof, broke up ice dams along the edge and inspected the roof for damage. He also broke up a layer of ice that had formed on a small deck in front of the french doors. JR explained that the roof has a dip in it and the water cannot run off freely. He has experience with rubber roofs and was very good at explaining the problem. When he realized how much snow we were expecting over the next two days he said he would stop back again to make sure the roof was cleaned. I will call him in the spring when we can see about making repairs to the roof to remove the dip.

They came on a sunday morning, and cleaned the snow and ice.

I called Nokomis Roofing based on positive reviews from Angie's List. JD responded right away and said he would be able to stop out at our place on Thursday (next day). He said he would call when he got there and give me an estimate of cost. I did not get a call during the day, and when I arrived home, they were there working on the ice dams. The workers called JD right away and he called me right back. He had been delayed at another job and apologized for not being there and for not having called me with an estimate. He told me that they had been working on our ice dams for 2 hours (which would have cost $500). He offered to charge me only half of that ($250) to compensate for the error. They did a great job, cleaned up very well, and the whole thing was resolved in a very professional and considerate matter. His crew was especially courteous throughout. JD then stopped by our house an hour later to apologize again for the error and to be sure that everything had been done satisfactorily. I appreciate that kind of service and will call them again for future ice dam issues.

The crew was very polite and told us that whoever raked the roof earlier had done a really good job (this made my partner glow with pride!!). Well, roof raking will be a priority from now on! Members of the crew spoke to us about various aspects of the job, both before and after, including giving advice on roof raking in general. They all seemed knowledgeable and conscientious and HARD-WORKING...no delay at all. They unloaded and got right to work. Two more comments: 1) As of today, I trust this company. I will probably use them again. We need a reassment of our attic insulation and I may ask them to do this in a few months. 2) They didn't steam the ice dams. RJ told me when I first called that they found that steaming took too long and that they used special tools to chip the ice that would not damage the roof. So, I suppose I have to wait until I see the roof to make sure no damage was done. When I searched Google about ice dams, many site recommended steaming, BUT I believe most of those sites contained info from companies who steamed rather than clients who found that there might be alternatives to steaming. If I end up being dissatified, I will repost; but so far, so good. I can't emphasize enough how impressive it was the RJ himself came by to inspect the job as his crew was wrapping up. He wanted to be sure we were satisfied and that is something you don't see very often any more.

I received a call back promptly, and the work was able to be scheduled within 24 hours. I told them I could only afford to hire them for one hour, and to accomplish what they could in that time. The work was done quickly and completely. JR followed up after the work was done to be sure I was satisfied.
