 + -1 moreI would not hire Zenon in the future because he never got back to me with his quote. He told me I'd hear from him later in the day after he saw the job and he never called me back. I feel in the end, he was very unprofessional. I'm glad I didn't hire him.
Description of Work: Zenon showed up to quote me a bid on a regout to a shower job that needed to be finished. My husband had started the job, but was unable to complete it due to time restraints. Zenon was on time for the bid appointment and he was professional, but he didn't measure anything, he didn't count tiles and he left without giving me a price quote. I even asked him if this was the sort of job he'd want to take on and he said yes. He told me he would call me later that day with his quote, but I never heard back from him - ever. I would not work with Zenon in the future due to this. Also when he arrived, I thought he smelled of liquor.

 + -1 moreObjective was to clean the tile grout in a now-vacant condo unit in advance of putting the unit up for sale. Of three grout cleaning contractors I contacted to obtain estimates, Zenon was prompt to return calls, met the appointment time, carefully explained the acid-cleaning technique and that it takes two visits over two days, and worked up a price quickly. All of this, plus the excellent Angie's ratings, convinced me to hire this firm. Zenon was very flexible with his availability to work around the painting contractors. Once his work was done, he laid down heavy butcher paper to protect the clean floors while the painting work continued. The kitchen floor grout, in particular, was filthy beforehand (aged owners), but Zenon brought it back to the original putty grey color. Very uniform work, and he pulled out the stove and refrigerator to handle the grout underneath them, too. All the old silicone was carefully scraped out , then replaced with perfect white silicone beads. Great work, not cheaply priced but gave more than my money's worth!
Description of Work: Cleaned and sealed grout for ceramic tile floors in an eat-in kitchen, a 3/4 bath (including tile shower floor), and a 1/2 bath, and also silicone sealed two toilets, one enclosed shower, and one bathtub.

 + -1 moreIt went well. They were very busy with other projects but found time for us. We weren't in a big hurry.
Description of Work: They fixed a problem tile bath surround. Water had gotten inside the wall and there was continued seepage and discoloring of the grout. They took out the tile, replace the wet material with appropriate waterproof material and regrouted the tile. They also took down and old glass block shower wall that was getting pretty bad. They replaced it with a beautiful sliding glass sower door and fixed all the surrounding tile. They are very neat in their work. We are quite happy.

They arrived on time, were thorough, always left the job site clean and organized and the quality of work is exemplary. There is a reason we return to Minnesota Regrout for our projects, we know the work will be done well, at a fair price and performed by a company that has high standards. Xenon is on site checking the progrees frequently and kept us informed about the process and up to date on deadlines. Our bathroom is beautiful, we couldn't be more satified. Everything was completed as promised, we would happily recommend and endorse Minnesota Regrout to friends and neighbors.

 + -1 moreSelected over three other ceramic shower repair contractors for professionalism of initial visit by Zenon for tear out and re-do of a leaking tile shower basin. Other factors were one price for removal and re-installation of shower door, clean/seal of all tile surfaces and a 5 year warranty. Beware use of numerous sub-contractors - had to fire first crew for tardiness and complete lack of professionalism; allowed Zenon a second chance and was provided with a high quality crew that was meticulous and did a high quality job. I would not use again unless I was able to interview the subcontractor doing the work and understood their work history and qualifications.
Description of Work: Tear out and replacement of leaking tile shower basin. Acid wash and re-seal of entire shower. Removal and re-installation of glass shower door.

After the work was completed, they failed to send me an invoice for my records and have since stopped taking my calls. I'm likely screwed if I ever need to cash in their "5 Year Warranty".

 + 4 moreI would absolutely hire these guys again. I was very particular about what I wanted and had the design work finished and some tile purchased before calling for an estimate. Zenon gave me a quote that was reasonable and passed on the "contractor's discount" from the tile shops directly to me. They began the job within a day or two of the time estimate given, and if they were not able to come one day because of illness or another job, were careful to call and let me know. Ivan did all of the install work for us and my husband and I are agreed that he's an artist. Don't hire these guys if you want someone to slap your tile up in a hurry and get out of your house. But if you want meticulous work with fabulous attention to detail, these are your installers! We could not be happier with the results and have received many, many compliments from family and guests on both bathrooms.
Description of Work: We had a half bath on the main floor remodeled with new half-tiled walls, new custom cabinet and new glass counter top, as well as a walk-out level bathroom remodeled with the old molded shower and ceramic tile floor removed before installing a heated porcelain tile floor and tiling the walls to the ceiling [over 9ft tall] on three sides. We added glass tile inserts for interest which Ivan first glued to stiff backing and then installed so they would be level with the [thicker] porcelain tiles we were putting on the walls. The powder room was a challenge because it is oddly-shaped with many angles that had to be considered when cutting the tiles, plus a cut-out was needed for the glass counter top which was "inserted" at the correct height.

 + 0 moreIt went very well. Zenon was very pleasant to work with, and Alex did a great job. I am very happy with the result. The shower looks like new. A couple of weeks after the work was done the shower enclosure started leaking. I called Zenon and he came back and fixed the problem very quickly. The "B" rating for price is not meant as a criticism. Based on getting only one other estimate I thought that Zenon's price was competitive.
Description of Work: Regrouted and cleaned a ceramic tile shower. Removed and replaced the glass shower enclosure and door.

Description of Work: A very small bathroom needed to be retiled on the walls and floor. This involved removing existing linoleum and plywood from floor. Removing Plastic tiles from wall with putty knife and then mudding walls for a smooth surface. They also replaced a 3" x 6" section of wall near the tub with waterproof board and installed a shower into the wall. They then tiled the walls up to about 6" with basic white tiles (6") and put down a premade tile formation (also white on the floor). They grouted and sealed. The owner had several of his employees do the work and when we walked thru when done, I noted that the dust from the wet saw was all over the house. I asked him to mop it up and to undercut a door that was hitting the new floor. The door was undercut two days later but no cleaning was done. Also, where a plumbing pipe enters the wall, there were such large cracks in the new tile that the decorator ring designed to cover the holes did not cover them. I had three quotes and Zenon's was the highest. I took his because of the many good reports o n Angie's list. Perhaps he is not able to monitor jobs as well as he used to...but I was not satisfied.

 + -1 moreZenon gave a quote promptly. I wanted the work done a few weeks later and there were no problems scheduling it. Alex did the work over two days. He was efficient, unobtrusive and very tidy. I felt comfortable having him in my home. I asked him to come an hour later the second day because I had a conflict and he had no problems with that. He did a fantastic job. The bathtub area looks completely new. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Regrouted bathtub tile surround, installed new soap dish, re-caulked wherever there was caulking in the bathroom.

 + -1 moreZenon came out to give me a bid and was punctual. After looking at the areas he said he'd get back to me with a bid. It was the weekend before the Home&Garden show so he did say he would not get back to me until the following Tuesday. He took a tile to bring to the tile store to match because I did not have the tile necessary to do one of the repairs. After not hearing from him for a couple of weeks I called him back. His notes seemed sketchy so we decided it would be best if he came out again to look at the job. He said he would call me later that day with a bid. Again, he took another tile to match at the store. It's been over a month and he never called...not even to say I'm not interested in the job. Wow.....am I surprised he's got an A rating with the response I've gotten. This is the first time I've felt that Angie's list wasn't on with the ratings.
Description of Work: Zenon came out twice to give me a bid on repair work on my tile areas. No service was preformed.

I noticed a couple places where the grout was not completely applied but he fixed them when he returned the next day to install a part on the shower door. Overall, a very positive experience and I would recommend this company to others.

His quote was competitive and quick... he match the materials well and the craftsmanship was excellent from both a performance and aesthetic standpoint. We were very impressed with their professionalism and would recommend Minnesota Regrout and Tile to all our friends and family!
Description of Work: Zenon and his crew were absolutely fantastic! They redid our shower base after the caulking/grout failed and we discovered the lining underneath was also deficient. We had a leak @ the corners of our full-tile shower, since the carpet in the next room was wet we knew it wasn't just the caulking - but that the sub-flashing was also compromised. MN Regrout and tile busted out the entire shower base down to the floor including the concrete curb for our sliding glass shower door. They properly installed membrane and re-poured the floor and curb and re-tiled the base and up the wall 10-12 inches that had to be removed for the flashing to go up the wall.

 + 0 moreWe knew we had to repair the shower before the old tile just fell away from the wall. We called Zenon and he came out to give an estimate in a day or two. He did not push me to do more or spend more. He recommended quality, not quantity which was very important to me. We needed to have the work done in two weeks for company before Christmas. They met the deadline even though the scope of the project more than doubled and there was a snow storm. If they said they were going to do something, by a certain time, they did. They did a fabulous job. We will hire them back to finish the other half of the bathroom. We couldn't afford to do it all now. They didn't make us feel bad because we couldn't either.
Description of Work: We had our bathroom partically refinished. The tile was coming off in the shower so we hired this contractor. What started as a smaller project more than doubled in size as we went. First we just needed the shower to be retiled and the partial walls on the front side of the shower to be removed to open up the shower area. As they started, we knew we wanted it opened much more. So we asked them to take down the wall in back of the shower which meant the false ceiling in the bathroom had to come down (we hated it). So they gutted the shower area, tore the walls down around the shower area, insultated, put up water proof backing and then tiled the new shower area, behind the sink cabinet, and the floor. They plastered over the old plaster ceiling to make it smooth and nice. They also had to patch the walls extensively with a thin coat of plaster. They hung a new light fixture.

 + 3 moreZenon's estimates were competitive but the decision factor was not his quote but Zenon's professionalism and response. I just had good feelings the very first time I met him. He was honest, respectful and presented many options to do what we intended to do. He was very helpful and patient during our decision time. We only had two weeks to get the job done as the tenants were out for two weeks. Zenon planned well and executed to the planned. He completed the project on-time with a great quality. During the testing, water leaked and damaged the floor underneath (kitchen ceiling). He took responsibility of the plumber’s oversight and hired a great handyman who did an excellent job fixing the ceiling. I would hire Zenon again on heartbeat.
Description of Work: We hired Minnesota Regroute for bathroom remodeling job. The bathroom was from 40s. Peach tile on the walls; dark and ugly tiles on the floor. Bathtub needed replacement as it was almost impossible to keep it clean. It is our rental property and we did not want to spend too much money for the upgrade.

Once the project was ready to get underway, his installer arrived on the day and time he was scheduled to do so and in approximately a day and a half expertly completed the installation.  + -1 moreI am extremely happy with the job. The new vanity sink really completes our bathroom, The tile around the bath area looks brand new. This job was complicated, because the tile that we have is not replaceable. The tile around the new vanity sink had to be cut perfect. If not, we had to replace damaged tile with a completely new tile and that new tile might be impossible to match to the old. As it turned out, the old tile was cut perfect and no tile was damaged so the vanity fit perfectly in without adding to our expense and difficulty.
Description of Work: Cut tile to install a new vanity sink. Grout the new sink in place and caulk in place. Also replace the grout around the bath and shower area. Finally applied silicon caulk to finish job.
