I purchased the Angie's List deal because we had some loose grout and the beginnings of some mold around our tub and faucet. I think they were overwhelmed with the response because it took many phone calls and one missed appointment before we were finally able to get someone out for the estimate. He explained that the company who did our tile originally didn't seal the grout, which caused the damage. He stated that he would want to power wash the entire bathroom (tub surround, walls and floor) and replace the grout and seal. I knew we wouldn't able to afford such a big project so I asked him to include an estimate on just replacing and sealing the areas with damage. About two weeks later I got a voicemail message with no estimate. We played voice-tag several times but none of his messages included an estimate for the smaller project. I finally gave up and didn't return the last voicemail. He was very nice and seemed professional but unorganized. He did mention that they sold a lot more of the Angie's List Deals than expected.

We are very pleased with the work. The installation of the tile and grout was performed with excellent workmanship; and the installer was prompt and courteous. We would definitely use Minnesota Regrout and Tile again.

We had some trouble coordinating schedules due to his overall workload and our busy lives, but we talked a lot and finally figured out how to make ti happen. Zenon is very polite and professional.
Description of Work: They did a lot of different work for us, but the most impressive work was the regrouting of the shower and some other areas in the bathroom. It makes everything look brand new!

When Zenon came in late May (5/23) to do the work, the small electronic tool he brought to scrape out the old grout didn't work for him. I offered for him to use my oscillating tool with a grout scraping blade, which he declined, and explained that he would need to send one of his men with the right tool. He retuned later with another man, who spoke little English, Zenon explained to him in their language what to do. This man hand scraped the old grout out, regrouted, only the very small high-traffic "bad" area, and left. The whole job took 20 minutes, and the regrouted area looked almost no different than before ("new" grout not smooth, looks almost as pitted as worn area. My housecleaner of 12 years could not tell the difference between the old and new areas) . I called Zenon to express my dissatisfaction with both the final product and the fact that I expected to have more area worked on for the 2 hours purchased. Zenon and his employee retuned about 2 weeks later (now 4th total visit). Zenon then explained that my countertop tiles had actually been both grouted and caulked, which is why the re-grouted seams don't look as smooth as the non-worn seams elsewhere. He said they could certainly also caulk the seams if I would like, which I told them I would. They did not think that they could regrout my entire main countertop (approx 5 feet total countertop) in 2 hours, and said that because the countertop was so old and worn (it's 20 years old), no one could fix it in 2 hours. (Note - I have had one entire bathoom of old 3x6 wall tile - 4 walls - in my 1905 house regrouted in less than a day). Zenon offered for his employee to refreshen the slicone caulk around the sink, and also to re-caulk our bathtub, so I would be satisfied that I got my money's worth out of the deal. He then explained everything to the man and left. The employee completed the work discussed (sink, bathtub) but did not caulk over the countertop grout. I asked him to also re-caulk an additional area (approx 30-40 inches, where counter meets wall), where the existing caulk was discolored/unnattractive. This man declined, and insisted (in his limited English) that it was functional should not be removed, so he wouldn't be doing that. The work took about 45 minutes in total. To summarize, I paid $75 for a total of one hour's work, which took over 2 months to finally "complete", and did not satisfactorily fix the main issue for which I hired the company in the first place. The countertop grout continues to be as unnatractive as before Min Regrout completed the work, the quality of the grout work looks inferior to grouting jobs we have had done elsewhere. The sink and bathtub caulking was well done, but those areas were not my priority when I called Mn Regrout. Since we typically pay my handymen $25-45/hour, depending on the person/skill level, for the same work, I feel that this experience was very poor value, particularly from a company claims to be a specialist in re-grouting.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's list 'Big Deal' of $75 for up to 2 hours of Caulking or grout restoration from Mn Regrout in mid-March 2012. The main reson for my wanting this work done was because the grout on my tile kitchen countertops was significantly deteriorated in one spot. I called Mn Regrout within a few weeks (a week or two, I think) of receiving the coupon code. Zenon returned my initial call promptly and came to assess my situation within a reasonable amount of time. I showed him both the deteriorated area and a pristine area, to illustrate what I would like the finished job to look like. I requested of Zenon that he regrout as much as was allowable in the deal I had purchased (2 hours of regrout time). He seemed confident that he could fix the one bad area, though a little less specific on exactly whether he'd be able to also regrout some other areas that were not as bad. He said he would pick up the proper color grout and get back to me with a date/time as to when I could expect him back. I didn't hear from him for several weeks after, though did receive a courtesy call at some point explaining that he was very busy and would get to me as soon as he could Zenon returned in late May (5/23) to do the work, but could not complete it then, so an employee was sent out within a week or two to complete it with the right tool. The employee regrouted a small portion of my countertop. Due to my dissatisfaction with the amount and quality of work performed, they later returned again to also re-caulk our kitchen sink/countertop seam and our master bathtub.

The company was overwhelmed by the response to their Big Deal on Angie's List. To their credit, they called and explained how backed up they were because of the ad. They were able to come out about a month later to caulk our shower stall. The $75 grew to $625 because they claimed all our existing grout had to be removed and replaced. They did good work, but we weren't expecting a $600+ job.

The job was completed promptly and according to plan. I picked out the tile I wanted at a local supplier and the contractor handled the purchase in order to get a discounted price. I was at home while the work was done and was very favorably impressed with the worker's professionalism and skill. They suggested removing the old tile completely and then "mudding" the surface of the floor to insure the best possible results. The final product looks great now, cleans easily, and (I was assured) will still look great when the contractor and I are no longer around to admire it.
Description of Work: Bathroom floor was completely replaced with new tile.

The project was beautifully done, with great attention to detail. I had the same crew as previously with Walter and Rick plus Ivan (who had not worked on my previous project) and they did a great job plus were very nice to have in my home. Throughout the process, Zenon ensured that the project was meeting my expectations. The tile looks beautiful and I have received many compliments on the design and workmanship. All cost, quality and time commitments were met and I could not ask for a better outcome! This was the second project with Minnesota Regrout and Tile. I have recommended them to family and friends.
Description of Work: Minnesota Regrout & Tile did a great job on my guest bath and powder room so I hired them for an additional project--to replace the tile in my master bath and main entry. I had two previous bids from other companies so I knew that the bid was competitive--slightly less than both of the other bids. My master bath has a two room configuration with a Jacuzzi tub and toilet in one room and the double sink vanity in the adjoining area. The original construction had steps up to the Jacuzzi and the motor had no access panel so the project included removing the steps for safety reasons and also to open up the area. Zenon suggested installing a tiled motor access panel with magnets and then grouting the edges so that only grout would need to be removed if there is a future issue with the motor--a brilliant solution that is invisible. I had chosen ceramic, porcelain and stone trim for the tile and asked for Zenon's advice on the aesthetics and he provided great guidance on direction for the laying tile on the walls and floor, what areas should be tiled--including a half wall behind the toilet area, and extending the tile in the tub area to the ceiling to make the small room look larger, as well as where to use the stone for best effect. The overall result is beautiful and makes the space appear larger and brighter.

Worker came out one time to check on the job and to be sure he had the correct color grout. He came out a second time, removed the old cracking grout and replaced it with a new flexible grout that he said would not crack. The quality of the job done was excellent. Things look great. It took him about 2 hours.

Description of Work: 16-year-old master bath was showing its age: discolored, cracked and missing grout and mortar. Removed all grout from corners and replaced with color-matched caulking. Removed areas of cracked grout and filled with new color-matched grout. Replaced missing mortar with coor-matched caulking. Acid-washed tiled walk-in shower and tub deck, then re-sealed entire area.

He was overwhelmed due to the response on the deal. Took just about 2 months to get him out for the service. e did a good job and made a completely better seal.
Description of Work: Bought two hours of work as part of an Angie's List Big Deal. Originally purchased to fix grout in our own bathrooms, but decided to use it for regrouting of our rental's bathtub to replace caulk. Took extra time because of the existing plastic strip used in place of caulk, very sticky!

The job was excellent from beginning to end. The owner, Xenon, came out and gave us an estimate. He indicated that one of his employees,Peter, who had been workiing for him for fifteen years would actually do the work. Xenon did come out on Monday, the first day of the job, to make sure everything was ready. Peter came right on schedule and worked hard all day. He cleaned up very well at the end of each day and carted away the trash. The job took until Thursday to complete. Peter did an excellent job of matching the grout lines with the existing tile, no easy feat since walls are rarely plumb and square. He also tiled the ceiling of the tub area and installed two corner shelves and a corner soap dish.. On the second day of the job, a plumber came and did what was needed to accommodate the new fixtures, including replacing some pieces of galvanized pipe with copper to match the rest of the piping. On the final day of the job, Xenon came to inspect the work. He then returned two days later to install a new shower curtain rod and collect his check.. All in all, it was a great experience.
Description of Work: All of the tile in the tub/shower area needed to be removed. When the house was built 48 years ago, only sheetrock was installed behind the tile. The grouting had loosened and allowed water to seep through and cause a leak in the kitchen ceiling below. They installed Dense Shield backer board and 4and 1/4 inch tile to match the size of the tile in the rest of the bathroom. They installed a new Delta shower head and faucet and grouted the area with a grout that is supposed never to mildew. In addition, Peter, the man who did the work, put silicone around all of the things in the bathroom that needed it. He also saved some of the tile being removed as I had requested, since it matched the color of the tile in the rest of the bathroom.

Very badly! My intention was to re-grout the bottom tiles in the shower in my master bath. Zenon came and said it had to be either removed and replaced at a cost of $775.00 or the bath entirely retiled at a cost of $5,000+. He gave a written proposal on June 21 with some suggestions as tile companies as his quote was dependent on the tile selected. Obviously, at that point in time, I researched and got additional recommendations and quotes. Apparently communication broke down at that point. He did recently send an email with an embedded "private message" which I responded back that I don't open these types of emails and requested he send a normal message so I'm able to read it. NO RESPONSE!! I would appreciate direction as to how to receive the $75.00 I spent on the Groupon, as no services were rendered. I had the impression he was only interested in securing large projects and not simply re grouting. There was some minor re grouting needed next to the large tub in the guest bathroom, but he never contacted me to do that. On his initial and only visit, he claimed he wasn't prepared to do any work!!!!
Description of Work: None was performed. See below.

The work took about a week. The workers were timely, neat and professional. The cost matched the estimate. The overall result is a master bathroom that looks like new. Description of Work: I hired Minnesota Regrout to regrout all of the tile in our master bathroom. This included the shower walls, bathroom floor, counter tops and around a spa. Zenon (owner) asked if I would like to replace the shower door with a new custom door, and I agreed.

Provider arrived on time, completed the job well within the allotted time and left the area clean and neat.
Description of Work: I have approximately 20' of granite counter up against ceramic tile backsplash. Ten ft of this counter is against an outside wall where temperature changes are significant, resulting in a gap of more than .375". The original material used in this joint was tile grout which separated, leaving an open gap between granite and tile. Minnesota Regrout and Tile used a type of vinyl caulk which matched the grout exactly. The seam is flawless and if this product holds up to temps of winter, I will remain completely satisfied. Minnesota Regrout and Tile also replaced the caulking in front of tub and shower as part of this special. Again the seams are flawless and color match is perfect.
