I could not have been happier with Local Motion. Everything went flawlessly, from initial phone call to follow-up call from the company. I stopped through their office twice for free boxes, which they loaded into my car for me. Local Motion called the evening before to confirm everything, my team of movers called in the morning before they came over. They were quick, friendly, efficient, nothing was damaged, and in my opinion they went above and beyond as far as care of our belongings. Thanks so much, would use you again in a heartbeat and already recommended you to my friends!

It went ok. It was a ridiculously cold day to move. My stuff got moved without any major damage. The experience would have been better had more respect been shown for the houses and better treatment of the items being moved as well as for the customers.

They were on time, efficient, and personable. They were very careful of our belongings. The price was comparable, if not a little less, than the other estimates that we got. They were fast which is important when you are paying them by the hour.

They were wonderful. They were willing to come one day after I called. They were polite, friendly and efficient. The furniture is priceless and they were very careful with it. They also provided extra services - removing additional furniture that I didn't want and helping to set up the furniture in the new room. They moved the furniture a few times to help us find the best location for it in the room and helped us take apart a bed that required a special tool even though they were not moving the bed for us. We were very satisfied and would use them again in a heartbeat.

I am unable to accomplish everything I would like because of severe arthritis. I called these guys to see if they could assist with moving books from the first floor to the basement. I was told that they could also assemble the bookcases and shelves, which surprised and delighted me. Of course I said yes and they did it all quickly and well. I plan on using this business again in the future.

It went terrible and I would never use or recommend these movers. The move was scheduled for 10am and confirmed...the movers showed up at 8am. Since we were not yet prepared, we had to pay for extra time. When they arrived we had to sign a waiver that stated " the service does not include any type of insurance coverage what so ever, I ( as the customer) am solely responsible for any losses or damages to my property and items that may occur during my move, regardless of who damages or loses the items' In other words, the company provided no coverage for anything. The movers gauged and dinged the walls in may places and we need to get the walls repaired in several places. Given the fresh snow and sloppy conditions, we wanted them to provide runners and take steps to keep our brand new carpet clean. This was not done and we need to clean the carpet. They only had a couple runners and nothing else. Even though we were assured that all the neccesary runners, blankets, etc would be provided.

They were very helpful and very pleasant. I decided against using temperature-controlled storage, but they answered all of my questions and I would consider using them if I needed them in the future.

The moving team was professional, couteous and worked quickly but carefully. Some of our items were difficult to move into our new place, and they tirelessly worked with us to figure out a way to get the furniture into our new home. This has been the best mover we have ever used and plan to use them again, definitely.

This company was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We scheduled a full move on short notice and they accomodated the tight timeframe with ease. Everyone I worked with there was very professional, efficient and prompt. From my first call to them for a quote on moving to the actual move, I was extremely pleased with them. They always returned e-mails and phone calls promptly, sent me e-mails with quotes, receipts, etc. They dropped off boxes for a small fee, rather than me having to pick them up, and will pick them up after the unpacking is completed as well. The day of the actual move, I was so impressed with the politeness of every member of the 4-man team. They completed the move in less time than was estimated, so my cost was significantly less than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend them for a move large or small; in fact, I already have recommended them to a friend, and that friend received quality service as well. Kudos to the whole Local Motion team!

The Corporate team was great - from estimating, to answering any questions I had, planning the move, sending reminders, etc. The Retail Center from where I picked up the free boxes, packing paper, tape, etc. was great as well - very helpful. And finally, the field team that actually did the move was terrific - courteous, hard working, and customer-service oriented. Everything arrived safe into our new home. And to their credit, when access to the elevator became harder towards the end of the move, they ran up and down the stairs (we lived on the 5th floor) Two areas of feedback (not a criticism) for the team: - They need estimate better on the time it would take to move out the boxes. The lead guy said they would be done in 2-3 hours, but it took 5 hours (thankfully, I knew better, and didn't believe the 2-3 hour estimate) - They need to take a moment to plan a more efficient move. We live on the 5th floor, and with only one elevator available. There are some basic things they could organized themselves to make the most of the likely bottleneck i.e. the elevator. A professional seasoned team would have figured it out, and probably shaved 1 hour off the move (total time taken was 8 hours). All told, I was very happy with the move, and would absolutely use LocalMotion again, and recommend you to others.

Dakota and John did a great job. Dakota had some doubt that I had a big enough truck, but John convinced us both all of my stuff would fit. And fit it did, with a little room to spare! I hope to find an equally competent crew/moving company when I need to move again in Philly. It'll be tough as you guys have set a very high standard time and time again.

I packed everything and they moved it. One of the fantastic things about them is that we can pick up boxes for our charge and if we bring it back to them within thirty days they don't charge us. I had to change the move back date three times and there didn't have any issues with that. The movers and the retail people were great.

The crew on the original pack and store was professional, courteous and did a quality job. When it came time to move the stored goods and second house full of goods to our new house, they provided 2 crews, due to the amount of work required. One crew was very professional, courteous and did a good job. The second crew spent a lot of time goofing around and joking around, which was irritating, considering how much we were paying per minute/hour for these 2 crews. We had some damage to a recliner and a box full of keepsakes during the move. Unfortunately these kinds of things can happen. However, we are definitely dissappointed with the lack of response from their claims people. We put in a claim (faxed the form and mailed photos) about one month after our move. We then followed-up a few weeks later and they said they had not received the claim. So we emailed everything again. Over a month after that we still have not heard anything from anyone. I just left another voicemail for their claims person. Quite unprofessional and frustrating. In general the move went alright. However, the one "goof-off crew" and the lack of claims response has changed our view to be not as positive regarding Local Motion.

I reserved the truck and team over the phone with Bill Apple. He was helpful and professional. He encouraged me to reserve early, so that I wouldn't miss my moving date. Three young men showed up the day of the move and worked for 7 hours (through the rain) to move me. I was impressed by their hard work and their good cheer.

Overall they were good, but not great. The bid was supposedly padded and the guy (Adam, I think) who did the bid expected us to be well under the 8 hour estimate. Turns out it was 7 1/2, even though we moved almost every single box of ours out onto the front sidewalk to save time. Some of the movers goofed around a bit, which would be fine, except then they seemed to get back at it when we would come by. A few mishaps occurred, which I would have expected on such a big job, but no real acknowledgments or apologies when these occured. One good thing is they have a variety of free boxes to use.

My husband and I were very pleased with our experience with Local Motion. I had contacted the company about 2 weeks prior to our move to get a cost estimate for moving our furniture from South Minneapolis to our new home in the Nokomis area. The people I spoke with over the phone were great. The gentleman I spoke with estimated that based on the amount of items we needed moved, 2 movers with 1 truck could complete the job within 2 hours, costing $271.00. He did say that it was possible the job may take 3 hours, which would cost roughly $350. Local Motion called me the day prior to moving to confirm the appointment and also to let me know that they had 2 movers available earlier in the day if we would prefer. Our movers called an hour before arriving at our duplex to let us know what time we could expect them, they showed up 15 minutes early and worked extrememly quickly. I asked if they could move a couple of additional items (a window unit and large television) that I had not mentioned when I scheduled the appointment and they did so quickly. They moved all requested items from our duplex and into our new house within 2 hours.

The movers came exactly on time and they prepped the house by coving door frames and placing mats where appropriate. After a quick run through of all the rooms, the moving process began. I was glad they asked me for clarification if something was staying or going (or later, where it would be placed in the new house). I was clearly told exactly what to expect and I was glad they stated honestly what they would and would prefer not to move. We had excellent service from Luke, Corrie, and Josh. They were all professional, personable, and did everything we hoped for and more. On top of that, the estimate that Ryan gave us was right on the money, despite the somewhat unorthodox amount of stuff we had at our old house.

The movers were punctual; they arrived a few minutes before their expected time, which was fantastic. They got right to work, handled my furniture with care, were thoughtful about where to put things, and took a mere three hours from start to finish. They were hard workers who took pride in their jobs and if I have to move again I will use this company.

Overall, I was very pleased. The movers were very careful, professional and friendly. They weren't afraid to ask questions along the way to be sure that they were delivering to our expectations (eg: do you want this furniture shrink wrapped?). They are very organized and because of that - very efficient. I would definitely recommend them to others and was pleased with my experience. We did go about $200 over the estimate - but we took longer than the 5-6 hour window that was quoted. I think we had more 'stuff' than the average home our size. I don't fault them for that at all. For first timers: When comparing moving prices/moving companies, be sure to ask about boxes. This company provided as many boxes as we need in their original estimate. As long as they are returned within 30 days of the move date, there is no charge. You do get charged for any boxes that are not returned. Their box prices are spendy - so we are sure to return all of ours.

Our movers were on-time, courteous, friendly and respectful. They worked efficiently, completing within the time-limit we requested and showed the appropriate care for our belongings. Not only will we be using Local Motion again but I will be asking for our movers again by-name.

Local Motion does a terrific job. I got an estimate for the pack and move over the phone which was very close to the final bill. Three guys came over and packed the entire house and 2 days later three more guys came over and moved everything. They are very careful with your belongings and your house. Highly recommend them for local moves. This is the 3rd time I've used them and have been very happy every time. Also very friendly.

The two men were polite, efficient and capable. They picked up our very large credenza and carried it up a steep hill to our dining room. They also moved a large dresser from our second floor to make room for the dresser they had moved to the new location. they also brought a chair . this took a total of 45 minutes from start to finish including transportation.

We were very satisfied with them. There was no real damage that was done. They were there when they said they would be there and they got the work done even though it was a very large move. They finished the work in 2 hours.

Local Motion did our move from our old home to our new home. The sales staff were very profesional and the free moving boxes were great. I was able to go to their offices and they loaded the boxes into my car! Local Motion called a few times before the move to confirm and were out at my house at the exact time promissed (even a bit early). The move went fairly smooth. We had one hitch, not all the stuff fit in to the truck. We had to leave for a home closing, and before leaving I asked the head mover if everything would fit (they were about 1/2 done). I got a resounding no problem. However, between closings, we got a call saying not everything would fit. I was a bit irritated that he didn't just tell me that he wasn't sure it would all fit when I asked - I could have ligned up a neighboor to hold the things for me. However being busy at closing, we had to have our friend (who stayed behind) rent a UHaul. They did load the Uhaul for her, but a lot of time was lost in the process and our friend was under stress because of it. They gave me a 1/2 hour break (no charge) for the time it took to get the Uhaul - but it took much longer than that. Other than that snafu, everything else went pretty well. All our things made it safe and sound, except one coffee table - which got busted - not sure how.
