Description of Work: I hired Local Motion for my move - it was actually a move to 2 different addresses. I was quoted an hourly price and then on moving day I was charged a higher price per hour. The movers were told what items were to go to what houses and yet they unpacked and moved the wrong furniture to the wrong place resulting in much time wasted moving the items back on the truck. I did tell them of some very important and valuable furniture that they said they would give special handling but they still managed to drop and break my heirloom grandfather clock causing extensive damage to inner workings and chimes. They also left nicks in many wooden items including a large piece of wood missing from a vintage mid century modern piece (cannot be repaired) They were told where the boxes were to go and the boxes were clearly labeled to go in the basement and yet they ignored all that and put them in a different area. I had to wait well over a month before they would send someone out to repair my items (apparently they had so many damage claims it took 35 days to get to mine) My main concern was the grandfather clock and how extensive the damage was. I spoke with several professional clock repair people over the phone - they recommended I wait to have the moving company people come out first which I did but the person they sent out was not qualified to repair a grandfather clock - I had to call him back again when the chimes were out of tune and again when the hourly chimes were off. I was eventually able to adjust the clock with the help of a professional over the phone. I contacted the vice-president about the higher rate charged and he said it was because I changed the moving date from a Wed. to a Thurs. (my closing date changed) and that although I was not told of the hourly rate change that it was just too bad, he was not going to do anything about it. That was an extra cost to me of $97.00. I could understand a rate change if I changed to a weekend but I was not told of a change from Wed to Thurs and the company just simply didn't care....no customer service at this company I had called and emailed again about my other concerns and hoping to talk with them about the overcharges in rate and wasted time but my calls and emails went unanswered. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else for your move
