Description of Work: Primary job was replacement of 100 year old leaking galvanized hot water supply line to bathroom, which involved putting in about 8 feet of copper, working in the open in the basement, below the bathroom. Also replaced ancient, failing cartridge and faucet handle in basement laundry tub, replaced washing machine hoses with braided stainless steel, replaced poorly-designed aerator in bathroom sink faucet, and, after water pressure failed in bathroom shower subsequent to first day's work, replaced shower head (old shower head was poorly designed, and could not be cleared of the debris that lodged in it - inevitable, with all the galvanized piping in our house, and not the plumber's fault). LeVahn is expensive compared to other plumbers, but their plumber, Jerry, is clearly very skilled and knowledgeable, and I'm impressed that he managed to figure out how to salvage the laundry tub faucet - he spent a lot of time trying numerous cartridges, and then did not charge for most of the time he spent being puzzled by our weird old faucet. Another plumber, a couple of years ago, had given up on this job and told us to completely re-plumb the laundry tubs or just live with the dripping faucet. Jerry was courteous, friendly, very willing to explain what he was doing and what our options were. He was right on time the first day. On the second day (temps below zero), his truck wouldn't start, and so an 8:30 a.m. appointment started at 1 p.m. - but his dispatcher did call us promptly at 8:30, explained about the truck, and offered the choice of rescheduling for another day, or waiting. I'd already taken time off work, so chose to wait until they got their truck fixed. For future work, we'll check out some plumbers with lower hourly rates, but unless we can find one as skilled as Jerry, we'll call LeVahn Plumbing again.
