IDC-Automatic Garage Doors

Told me it the price on the phone and that was the price. Other vendors wanted a service call fee and to tell me the price after I paid that.

Industrial Door installed the preiovious garage door in 1995 and we were impressed with the price, quality and service. So when it came time to replace the door again, we went back to them and were not disappointed. This time, I was able to select my garage door design on-line and see what it would look like on my house. This helped us to identify exactly what door configuration we wanted and see it on-line before purchasing. Once the door was received, Industrial Door installed it and removed the old one. The installation team was professional, did quality work, and cleaned up before they left. Also, since the door was eligible for the Energy Tax rebate, the Industrial Door personnel eunsured I had the paperwork neccessary to claim it. If we need to replace the door again, I would go to Industrial Door first.

It turned out very well and I'm happy to report they fixed the problem before the holiday!

IDC were the ones who always repaired and serviced my garage doors but to find out how they fare I called about 3 top rated garage door repair service from Angie's list.The response on the phone from them was curt and not welcoming and their estimates on the phone were at least 50 dollars higher then IDC whose estimate was right on the mark 125 to 140!

I called in the late afternoon and they were able to schedule the service for the next day. He arrived on time and had the spring replacement done quickly. I am very satisfied with the work.

They were very prompt. I was not home when they came out, but my wife said everything went really well.

Install guy arrived initially on time 12-11-2009 as promised. Give him kudos as he installed it when it was 15 below zero. After inspecting the door install closer a few days later and after it warmed up I noticed that he had not properly tightened about 30% of the sheet metal screws on the struts, hinges and brackets to the point I thought is was not safe to even open the door. Some screws only one-half screwed in and hanging. Also, the step plate, lift handle and lock were not installed. Called Gary Carlson, Sales Rep. and he did send out another Repair Tech to resolve the problem. Days later, I discovered that when the outside temp dropped below 15 degrees that frost was accumulating between the door sections and on the wall of my garage on the drywall. This door leaked more than the uninsulated one it was to replace. When the outside temp warmed, the frost on my drywall melted and caused the tape to bubble and crack. Paint and drywall saturated. My garage is finished and painted. I took pictures as I think they did not believe me. They stated "I've been doing this for 20 years and I've never seen this." Called again. Sent a Tech. He looked at the door and stated "Might be a design flaw, I will have to call Clopay and get back to you." Did not hear from them for 2 weeks. I called again, explained the problem, again. Gary promised to get back to me and would look into the issue and send another repair tech. Still waiting. Its been about 3 weeks. In total this had be on-going for 3 months. I'm getting the run around.

They did a good job. I was satisfied with the price and the quality.

Overall, it was an excellent experience. I was impressed with Automatic Garage Door's responsiveness and professionalism. From Brad, who took my call and indicated he would see what he could do (he called me back 5 minutes later to say someone would be at my home shortly) to Dennis, who arrived within 15 minutes, assessed the issue, and made the necessary fixes, I was relieved and grateful for their flexibility and help. For a cold December weekend day, to have someone at your home in 15 minutes to fix a significant garage door issue is - in my opinion - outstanding service. To double my gratitude, the first company I contacted from Angie's List indicated they couldn't help me, so thanks again, Automatic Garage Doors.

The pilot light on our gas fireplace had gone out, was difficult to restart and when lit, burned too high. Cleaning the pilot assembly fixed the problem.

They are the only provider in town that do this type of work, so I did not really have a choice, I had to use them. I was not very happy with their service. The actual repairman was fine but dealing with the company is horrible.

The price was right as we worked through our contractor but the service could have been better. Things seemed to take longer. We never were really shown what all our options were which included color and types of doors. We received no instruction on how to work the control pads although it was not difficult after we read the manual. It was clearly a 'job'. Again, the price was good and compensated for the lack of discussion about options and use. We are happy with the work.

I considered it to be very good. They were prompt and performed the work we asked for and charged about half of what another company has charged for similar work in the past.

The company was able to schedule the appointment within three days. They arrived promptly, within the time window given. They were very professional and courteous. Since the home is new to us, it was very helpful that he went over in detail the various functions for the fireplace and how to care for the glass. Finished the work in approximately 30 min.

I trust them because they come and are able to fix the problem at a cheaper price. I would hire them again.

I called because our fan was making terrible noises. Once giving the person on the phone the type of fireplace he looked up new fans but couldn't find them in his books. He called the manufacturer to confirm we could get parts then called me back not 15 minutes later. Don was great! He arrived on time, did great work, and answered all of my questions! We would definitely use this company again. Excellent customer service!

Technician was scheduled to come out two days after I placed the call. He arrived on time and completed the work within one hour.

Automatic garage door has done all the work on our garage the past 20 years and has always been reliable and reasonable. They came out within about 4 days of my call and had the problem fixed.

I didn't use them because the day before the appointment they moved the time on me when I had been very specific about the time frame I needed. I understand the challenge of scheduling service times, however, they make little effort to be flexible and accommodate the customer. After this experience with their schedulers/service department, I almost regret purchasing my doors thru them (2 overhead doors in the last 1-1/2 years). Automatic needs to refocus and remember the importance of customer service AFTER the sale. I ended up going elsewhere (another company also listed on Angie's) and got a significantly better price, flexibility in scheduling and great service.
