Holt Lock & Key

We have a 1930's house with original hardware. We sometimes have trouble with door handles and locks. Tim is great about working with our original hardware. He helps to find original parts that work with our existing hardware.

Things went great. Tim Holt was professional on the phone and quick to respond. He quickly determined that the lock mechanism didn't need to be replaced, but taken apart, cleaned and tuned up, for lack of my own better terminology. In the 12 years I've leased this space, no one including the building owners has ever explained that there is a neutral position on the lock that must be engaged for the lock to work properly. Tim made sure I knew what was being done, what didn't need to be done. That if there were any additional problems he warranties his work. The price was also better than expected, which was a nice note to conclude on. I can happily suggest using Holt Lock on any job. Residential or commercial.

Mr. Holt arrived and repaired the doorknob, which we had not been able to open for 2 days, in about 5 minutes. He then re-keyed our garage door to match the house key. The whole job took him about 15 minutes. He did not charge for repairing the side door, only the re-keying job. He was very nice and professional, I would recommend him highly.

He re-keyed/added dead bolts as well. Very informative and knowledgeable. I will definitely call him again.

Wonderful! Tim came right away when I called (despite being at dinner time). He was friendly and courteous. He worked efficiently and explained the process to me in detail. His price was fair. I was given a spot-on accurate quote before he came.

Such a nice guy---he came out on a Saturday morning which suited my schedule well, did his work in a very professional manner and even sorted out the bad job a previous owner had done to the front door---hole was too big, etc---without an upcharge or needing to keep the ugly brassy plate that hid the other person's bad job. He understands and appreciates old houses. Tim only charged $60 for all the labor, so was extremely reasonable. Super personable and friendly. If you're looking to hire the local person, someone who's honest and works for himself, this is *so* the right choice. And hey, free keys! :-)

Great! I found Tim through Angie's List and was not disappointed. As others mentioned, he's not the most prompt guy (tended to be about 30 minutes late both times) but the work he did was very good. He made one trip out to inspect everything and gave me options for price and strength. We were able to do something that fit my budget and provided good security. Tim returned another day to do the installation and completed everything within the time estimated. The price ended up being slightly lower than quoted.

I was really happy to find this company! They came out on a day's notice on Saturday and changed a lock. On time, professional, courteous, good price. What else could one want!

This is the second time I have called Tim. He is very punctual, personable, and good at solving lock problems. It is so nice to have a friendly and dependable locksmith on your Rolodex. Even though you don't need a locksmith often, when you do it is usually a stressful time, and Tim makes the ordeal stress free.

Tim was incredible! I called him at 9:30 PM and he came over immediately to change my locks. He was very personable and extremely professional. Tim is an honest man who performs excellent work. I would hire him again in a second. I am so glad that I called him. Other locksmiths that I called were significantly more expensive and would not even consider coming out the same day without an "emergency fee" of at least $100. I needed a locksmith the same or next day, as I was only 2 days in town. Tim was very responsive, even willing to come the same day, but we settled for the next day. He was on time, very cordial, & in addition to the work he gave me good advice on 2 of the doors that possibly need to be replaced or better sealed before the next winter. And he gave me additional keys without charge. I highly recommend him & will call him again if I need a locksmith.
