Holt Lock & Key

We rekeyed two locks of my new home. Tim arrived on time and was able to rekey two locks and provide copies of the new keys in about 30 minutes. He was very professional and friendly. I would recommend Holt Lock & Key.

Great! Tim stopped by to lubricate the lock and discuss replacement options. I was happy he was able to see me the same day as I called him. He was running late on the previous job, so he called me to tell me the slight change in arrival time. This was the second time I've used Holt and will do so again when I need any locksmith jobs done.

Tim was awesome to work with. Sold me exactly what I needed versus what I could buy. Made great recommendations and provided parts that were better than box stores. And as a Mpls Storm dad, made a new connection. Would definitely recommend!

He also helped with a sticky door, and gave some knowledgeable advice in response to my questions about changing out a lock to something more high-tech. And he was super friendly with our goofy dog. Tim was awesome. Friendly, funny and honest. He took off his shoes as soon as he came into my house. I told him what my concerns were and he explained what the options were with no pressure at all. He went to work and finished in a timely manner. Tim is also a talented guitarist and we spent a little time talking guitars since I own some. He even gave me a few tips and played a few spinets of some songs. Great work and interesting talk.

AWESOME! Yesterday I took the locks off to paint the door and could not get them back on. I finally got the deadbolt to partially close. I contacted Tim today on my lunchhour to see if he could fit me in to install the new lockset I bought. He was able to come by at 5:30. He offered me multiple options and let me drive what I did / didn't want done. In the end, I took him up on the offer to get the door in working order now and when the lockset I ordered comes in he'll come back and install. (I asked what he thought of the one I bought and it wasn't a brand that he sells - so I'm going to take it back and go with another one.) I'm SO glad for his help. I'll sleep better tonight knowing my front door is latched properly. He wouldn't take payment tonight ... we'll settle it all up when it's done. So I can't fill that in now.

Saved me tons of money by recommending disabling the broken lock part and just using deadbolt.

I needed to have 7 of my locks re-keyed and new keys made. Tim was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. He was running about 15 minutes behind but called me to communicate he was running late and to ensure it was still okay with my schedule. I would absolutely recommend and use him again in the future!

Prompt, friendly, and professional. Walked through each door that I had requested be re-keyed, and talked through options for each door. After reviewing and agreeing on a plan of action for each door, Tim got right to work. He went above and beyond by suggesting additional security tips and completely repairing our garage door while installing the deadbolt. He also welcomed my friendly lab checking in on his work. Tim was very easy to work with when he re-keyed the locks on my duplex. He was friendly, flexible and did good, quick work. He also went above and beyond on a return visit, where he stopped by to talk through options for replacing the lock on our shed, after having traded pictures and ideas via text message. He was willing to help me figure it out even if it was complicated, and said at one point that it was his responsibility to make sure it got done. Once we discovered that the shed company could do the replacement, I offered him his trip fee, but he refused. So helpful and generous with his time!

Tim was excellent. He returned phone messages within 24 hours, scheduled an appointment and arrived when scheduled. Locks work wonderfully and he was able to provide context about locks that could not be re-keyed or latches we should keep for historical value to the home. Cleaned up after he was finished. Excellent job overall.

Tim replaced an obsolete and unusually complicated Schlage handleset. When I called 3 different locksmiths to ask about tackling the problem Tim was the only one who gave me confidence over the phone that he could get it done. The old lock had a large oval cut-out, and after extensive web search I had found a Baldwin model that would cover the large hole. Job required modifying the cut-out by drilling out more. He also cut out holes in a new door jamb for the deadbolt and handle strike. On the day he was scheduled he called to update me on his arrival. He got the project done in the time he estimated and we're very happy with the results. A great service!

Tim was simply outstanding! He was a very nice person and was highly diligent in all of his work. We just moved into our new single family home and purchased new door hardware from Lowe's that we were planning to have installed and re-keyed. Tim inspected all of the existing door hardware and told us they were still in great shape and instead corrected a previous incorrect deadbolt installation and re-keyed the existing locks for us. That was great information to know as it saved us nearly $200 dollars! All of the new lock keys turn easily and smoothly now. We would strongly recommend Tim for any locksmith services and we found out he also now does door installations so we plan to have him back out later this year to install our new main front entry door.
