Tim did a fantastic job. He arrived at the time he said he would. He finished the job in 30 minutes and did excellent work. The price was very reasonable.

Tim is extremely professional, knowledgeable and personable! We had just closed on our house and Tim came to re-key the locks. He arrived on time and got to work! He let us know that we had good locks but just needed to re-key them. Tim worked it so we just had one key for all the house locks including a front outside entrance door. He didn't have the parts so he had to return at no additional charge except for the new cylinders. Tim worked with my schedule and was very accommodating. The whole experience was fantastic! Plus, his prices were fair. The best part of the experience when my husband and I found ourselves locked out of our house on the Sunday morning after moving in. I'm a city girl and lock all the doors all of the time. My husband is a suburban guy and grew up leaving the doors open. We found ourselves locked out with no spare key, no car keys and no cell phones! Found a neighbor and called Tim! He was responsive and came over as soon as he could given it was a Sunday! Representative knew exactly what I was looking for when I called for an appointment. He has worked on many locks in older homes. He arrived promptly, took the lock apart, replaced the parts that couldn't be repaired, installed a new knob and retained the tumbler from the original lock. No need for new keys! The representative was friendly and efficient.

I have an old mortise lock and finding the replacement parts are hard to find. So I called Holt Lock and Key and he was able to schedule an appointment the next day. Tim was friendly and very knowledgeable. He even took the time to explain the inner workings of the lock to me. He took the lock a part, replaced a spring, put in a new lock cylinder and keyed the lock to match my other door. I was 100% satisfied and will recommend Holt Lock & Key to anybody needing a locksmith.

Tim did an excellent job. He was friendly and quick, making no mess at all. He recommended products we can think about in the future for our locks without being pushy. He took his shoes off when he came into the house, which I always appreciate.

Excellent. Mr. Holt showed up right when he said he would. Within 30 minutes he had picked the old lock (I had lost the key), then installed a new lock and key.

It was a great experience. They came out right away and I thought I needed a lock replaced, but he just fixed it. It was also inexpensive and I haven't had any problems with the keys or locks.

I shopped around on Angie's List and found Holt Lock and Key. They were both very highly reviewed and were also the least expensive of the three different places that I contacted. I called Tim to set-up an appointment and he came over to my house a few days later. Tim was very professional and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about his work. He was a pleasure to talk to and got to work right away on re-keying my deadbolts. Start to finish, he was probably done in 30-45 minutes. I'd gladly hire Tim again for any locksmith needs. Great personality, great product, and great prices!

I called Tim the day after my home had been broken into. I was coordinating a lot of services with different vendors (glass, security company.) Tim came out right away and installed new deadbolts, and ensuring the house would be secure. He went way above and beyond the call of duty by helping me board up the window the thieves broke. Turns out the glass company I hired the morning after the break-in not only didn't carry the standard glass that was required to fix my window the same day, they wanted to charge me several hundred dollars just to screw a piece of wood onto the window to secure my house until the glass came in the next day. That's crazy. They knew I had been burglarized and they were content with just leaving me wide open-cold air coming into the house and just waiting for another thief-or someone worse to come by. I was shocked. What kind of company does that? Anyway, it's a good thing Tim offered to help. He went down to the hardware store to buy a piece of wood and secured it with screws, securing my house and giving me peace of mind at a difficult time. The cost was also very reasonable. Thank you, Tim for caring and being so professional!

My daughter "misplaced" her keys at a teen party so I needed to have my home re-keyed. Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, I placed a call to Tim of Holt Lock and Key. I left a message and he called back within 5 minutes, made arrangements to come over within the hour. He arrived within the hour and re-keyed my 3 locks. Tim was very prompt and courteous. Given it was an emergency call, I thought the price was reasonable.

First of all, this job was completed in Nov./Dec. 2007 (so long ago I don't remember exactly when it was), and I'm sorry it's taken so long to submit my report. Anyway, Tim Holt was on time and discussed with me various options for deadbolts. He was very informative and didn't steer me towards the more expensive locks. When I chose to go with a mid-range lock which he didn't happen to have with him, he went to the hardware store to buy the lock and gave me the receipt. He installed the lock efficiently and cleaned up the area when he finished, and was generally friendly and pleasant.

Tim was pleasant, flexible with scheduling and working around movers, and very reasonable. I'd be glad to have him do more work as needed in the future and would strongly recommend him.

I had some remodeling done in my house and they recommended having my locks changed when it was all done. So I went on to Angies List, and he had a great review and was in my neighborhood so I decided to use him. He was on time and very professional. I also learned a lot because he knew a lot of neighborhood history.

I called and made an appointment for him to come to my house. He showed up on time and had the task finished in about 30 minutes.

I was very happy with Holt Lock and Key. Tim arrived within 10 minutes of our scheduled appointment and called to tell me that he was running about 10-15 minutes behind. The total replacement of the lock chamber on the front door took about 15 minutes but he also took the time to make sure that I knew how the lock worked and gave additional safety advice. I would definitely recommend them and use them again if the need arose. We did not have a working key for this lock for years (we usually go in and out the back door) because my husband thought this was something he could do himself. I was glad that we finally called a pro and got the job done quickly rather than getting halfway through the project and then my having to watch a door that now has no lock while my husband ran off to the hardware store for something he had forgotten.

Had a house for sale and needed to show it, but lock was stuck and no one could enter. Mr. Holt came on a weekend with one hour's notice and promptly took care of the problem. Was very friendly, helpful and informative.

Fabulous- recommended additional lock upgrades to replace outdated parts and was extremely helpful!

This is the second or third time I have used this company and I have referred Tim to others. He is honest, kind and knows his stuff. I would never use anyone else.

Tim was most responsive. We had a couple of locks which he agreed to use. He cored a couple of doors so that one key opened both doors (at our request). He also removed a non-secure lock from another door and installed a dead bolt. He also made suggestions for us to consider in another apartment. We will use his company for that job too, when we are ready!

A key had broken off in our front door lock. When we were unable to get the broken part out of the cylinder, we found Tim on Angie's List and called him. He arrived right on time, did exactly what we wanted including providing the extra keys, and charged a very reasonable fee. Tim is personable, honest, and very good at what he does. He taught us a lot about home security, about the way locks work, and answered our questions. We were curious about why the key had broken and he showed us how and why.
