Tim was 10 minutes late, but I would rather have him be running a little late on a Saturday morning than early! I really liked that I was allowed to buy my own dead bolt (he just wouldn't guarantee the lock). Tim was courteous, polite, knowledgable, and friendly. He was very reasonably priced (The Home Depot salesperson even agreed that it was better to let him do the work than to DIY in this situation). Glad I went with Tim!

They came on time and were professional, but we decided to use someone else.

Very pleased with Tim's work. He was able to install the front door and had to make adjustments to the door jam catches for proper alignment. He was even able to pull off the alarm parts from the old door and install on the replacement. The other two doors were pretty straight forward and he finished those in short order. Tim also help set the keys in all doors and cut multiple sets of keys for us.

Tim went about his job quickly and professionaly, even with my constant observation & questions. He knows his business.

I setup service for august 12th but Tim was running behind. (He told me he is often late) So, we rescheduled for Saturday Morning 9:30-10am. He came after 10 and was nice enough to give us 6 free keys. He was professional, quickly changed the locks, and told us how we could improve the security of our property. All around great, but late, service.

Scheduled an appointment on the day I called. Gave me an estimate over the phone. Arrived on time. Advised me where I did NOT need to make changes!

Because my interior door frame was not a standard size. the steel door and frame had to be custom made. On 12/9/2009 Holt provided an estimate for the steel door, steel frame, deadbolt and 3 hinges including installation. The estimate of $1400 was exactly what I paid after the door was installed on or about 1/20/2010. Although I had to wait about 6 weeks for the steel door to be specially made, the door is of very good quality and Holt installed it perfectly. For another $100 a high quality deadbolt was installed on my front door. I considered the total cost well worth it, especially since the steel door had to be specially ordered.

I’ve used him in the past. I called to set an appointment to use him, but he explained to me the fix over the phone. I followed his advice and I didn’t need him to come out. He helped me over the phone and didn’t charge me anything. His price is good. His service is very fast and professional. The lock was sticking and when I put the key in it wasn’t turning the dead bolt for the garage. We’d had pretty heavy rain and he said that sometimes moisture could get in there and screw things up. He gave the name of a specific spray to spray it in the lock. I think it was a Teflon spray. He didn’t even charge me a service call or anything. It works fine now. I would use him again in the future.

Back door deadbolt was stuck and could not be locked or unlocked from the outside. Tim took apart the lock, lubricated it and adjusted it so it works smoothly again. We had scheduled his visit for 10:00 am, but I called him at 9:30 to ask him to push it back by 45 minutes because a meeting I was in was running late, and he easily adjusted his schedule accordingly. I'm happy with his work and would definitely use him again.

Tim did an amazing job and was very responsive. He came out the next day (Saturday) and temporarily fixed the locks on the kicked in door. Then on Monday, he arrived bright and early to install a new door as well as fix the inside door frame. I also had Tim add a dead-bolt to my garage side door. Tim is extremely personable, professional and does first-rate work. I thought his pricing was extremely reasonable and I would absolutely work with Tim again if I have any door or key/lock related issues in the future.

The work was done quickly and skillfully, and Tim was quite friendly.

Broken latch on door handle had left door stuck in lock position. After several attempts to release it ourselves with no success, we called Tim. Tim answered our first call and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day at a time convenient for us. Tim showed up on time and quickly got to work, releasing the stuck in latch minutes. We thought the door handle would have to be replaced but he was able to replace just the latch and the handle was working again in less than 15 minutes. Tim was professional and pleasant - would definitely call again!

Tim was great - very professional and knowledgable. He was able to do the job the next day, and he fixed the problem. I would highly recommend his services.

The locksmith was on time and described options for upgrading my locks if needed, but was able to fix the existing locks.

Gave some helpful advice on weatherstripping too, without pushing his services too much. Ver personable. Will definitely use again in the future. Was about 20 minutes late, but he did call and let me know he was going to be late.

He was good. I spent probably $ 200 on that service. My interaction with him was fine. He was very friendly, professional, and chatty.

I called Tim at 8:00 am and he scheduled me for later the same day. He arrived right on time and examined current locks thoroughly. He provided some helpful suggestions for lock types, general security, and aesthetics. The work was completed as promised - locks now work smoothly and are keyed correctly. He cleaned up all saw dust. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We were happy with the service and will use him again.

He called in advance to let me know he was running late, which was appreciated. He was very helpful, knew his stuff, and did the job in the timeframe he anticipated.

Knowledgeable, EXCELLENT, A+ service & reasonable cost! 24 hours after I joined Angie's list, my front door was in perfect working condition...Thank you, Angie's list. I called Tim for a new deadbolt, he came that afternoon. After looking at the lock, he told me what a new lock would cost and offered to repair it and show me & then I could decide if i wanted a new lock. He took the entire lock apart and worked on it, and got it working beautifully. He also told me how to maintain it. I was delighted! I was so pleased to get the option to repair the lock. When he finished, I asked him to look at my backdoor which was stuck shut and would not budge with all our efforts. He worked on it and finally got it to open. He went outside to view my ice dam problem, the reason the door wouldn't open. He listened to my ideas/concerns and gave me some options, emphasizing the security and energy-saving considerations.He explained the timeframe, necessary steps and cost of the future project.( No charge for the stuck door) I had another door project for the spring. He again listened and gave me an idea of how we could approach that project with the timing, insulation and costs. (No charge for the advice.) After all the advice on my other doors and he was leaving, he had me try my fixed lock to make sure I was satisfied. What wonderful service!

Tim gave advice on overall security, which was really appreciated. He repaired one lock and talked about options for how to replace it when the time comes. He replaced the other lock mechanism and we didn't even need to get any new keys cut. I would definately use him again, and I gave my friend his number that very night. Very friendly, personable, and informed.

Tim (the owner) was courteous and kind. He called to let us know in plenty of time that he was running a little late. In reality, he still met the original appointment window. He really knew his stuff and had all 8 locks rekeyed in a matter of no time. There were no hidden costs or surprises. He even gave us a break on keys because we were Angies list customers. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a locksmith.

I phoned Holt one morning, got voicemail, and described the situation. Tim Holt returned my call that afternoon. Over the phone I found him to be helpful, professional, and likable. He answered all of my questions clearly and there was no pressure to schedule an appointment. When I decided I would have the door re-keyed, I phoned again, and was able to schedule for Tim to come the following day, and at a time that was convenient for me. He phoned while he was on his way and arrived at the time we had agreed on. He began by surveying the locks and went to work. He then asked how many copies of the key I needed, left, and returned with them a short time later. He made sure that everything was in working order. When he noticed something was not quite right, he corrected it. It's clear that Tim enjoys his work and prides himself in doing good work. The bill was for the amount I'd been quoted.

New to the area and needed to have our home re-keyed. Contacted Holt Lock and Key, and was able to schedule an appointment for the following day. Tim called me approximately 10 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment to notify me that he would be 5 or 10 minutes late (I appreciated the consideration! 5 or 10 minutes doesn't qualify as 'late' in my book, but showed me that he had an affinity for 'service'). Tim completed the items that I requested, cleaned all of the locks to make sure they worked smoothly and provided me with some additional information regarding the locks on my doors (obsolete, but still in good working condition) and anticipated cost if the locks ever needed to be fully replaced. Beyond doing a great job, Tim is delightful. Full of smiles and energy.

What a wonderful experience! Tim came out to the house, and got right to work as I showed him the locks I wanted changed. He was extremely courteous, respectful, and friendly - and we had a nice chat while he did his work. Scheduling with Tim was a breeze. I'd left a message for him, which he returned just a moment later. We worked out a day/time that was doable for us both, and he arrived right on time and ready for the job. He expertly replaced the cylinders on all of my Schlage locks and replaced the locking mechanism on my security mailbox. It didn't take him long, and everything works perfectly!
