Handyman Connection of Eden Prairie

Bruce, the handyman, was the consummate professional from start to finish. He began work immediately as planned and removed the shelving unit. Not only did he flawlessly install a new wall with paneling, but he used wood from the old unit to back it up behind the studs so it was sturdy (the paneling itself was very thin). When he was removing the large mirror, he noticed a chip in the reflective material behind the glass and offered me several suggestions on how I could fix that to make it look better when he re-mounted it downstairs. He finished everything within one day, it looked fabulous, and the cost turned out to be exactly what he quoted. He also cleaned up everything. All in all, I could not have been a better experience.

This company returned calls promptly and did everything they said they would. Showed up on time, completed the work as described and was very cordial.

We needed the siding done quickly as rain was forecast in the next few days and fortunately he was able to start the next day. He worked very hard and got the jobs done well.

Contractor was on time. Worked carefully and completed the task to our expectations. Very satisfied. Contractor even picked up the new material from the hardware store since we did not have any way to haul the new shower home.

From first contact with this company to final payment, it was a pleasure to deal with these people. Very friendly and professional. Bruce, the craftsman assigned to my projects, arrived on time to give me an estimate of the work. He was thorough and professional, asked for my input and provided his thoughts on how to save time and money on the projects without compromising quality. He did everything I asked, kept me informed about his progress and cleaned up when he was done. The work areas he was in were spotless when he was done. He even vacuumed the stairs that he used to get upstairs even though he didn't perform any work on or near the stairway! I'm a tough critic but I loved these people. I almost wish I had more work for them to do right away. If you have the chance to work with Handyman Connection, do it (and ask for Bruce).

Ryan arrived at 08:50 AM, 4/6/2007, began unloading his tools and equipment, ladder, etc., allowing enough time to begin work at 9:00 AM as promised. I met him outside where we again went through the job and what was expected. While there wasn't much ongoing conversation he was very personable, very thorough, and very efficient. He was careful not to crush or injure the evergreen ground cover that sprawled itself along the contour of the house. I was pleased. I would hire this company again.

I cannot imagine having a better experience with a company. The receptionist who answered the phone was extremely friendly and helpful. They were able to send a handyman out right away to give us an estimate on the work (other companies had two to four week delays). Chris Iwan, the handyman who did the work, was friendly, knowledgeable, timely, and professional. We bought the replacement door at Menard's and he went out of his way to pick it up for us. He arrived when he said he would and got right to work. He worked outside is freezing temperatures and did not complain at all. His work was perfect and he answered all sorts of miscellaneous questions for us. He even came back a second time because doing some of the work would have woken our sleeping baby. And the price was well below what other companies quoted us. We were extremely impressed and happy.

It was easy getting an appointment on the day and at the time I desired with Handyman Connection. The customer service representative was nice and explained how everything worked. We received a call one day prior to the work to confirm the time slot, and we were told who was coming out to give the estimate and do the work. Bill called to confirm his arrival window 15 minutes prior to the window day of the appointment. He completed the estimate and began work right away on a job that we didn't have the tools to do ourselves. He was very efficient and there was no mess to clean up afterwards.

They did everything right and followed up with us as requested.

He sized up the job, was friendly, worked right away, and we are very pleased with the work.

Handyman Connection came out to my house right away to give me an estimate which was great. However, the guy said he couldn't fix the door and that it would need to be replaced, and he would just screw in the piece of wood on the casing that was broke and putty up the hole. I would have to buy a new storm door for him to replace, so his estimate was for labor only. I asked how much it would cost for just the casing, and he said $80. So that leaves $220.00 to take off the old storm door and install the new one, which I thought was a very high price. I checked with Lowe's and Home Depot, and they would deliver my door, take off the old one, and put the new one on for at least $70 cheaper. I also found $80 to be a bit steep to screw in a piece of wood and patch up a hole with wood putty.

They came over for an estimate very quickly. Their estimate seemed reasonable to us. We didn't look around. Our handy guy, Randy, was very professional and friendly. Sometimes you get weird guys with no personality, but that wasn't Randy. He explained everything to us and made us feel very comfortable with the process. All the work was done quickly and professionally! My only hang up was the scheduling office. There scheduler was pretty bad. She called us once very early the day of our appointment and assumed we weren't home. She then called our handyman and told him not to come out! Well our handyman called us and fixed the scheduling problem. However the office double booked him and kind of created a headache for us. They just need to get a better scheduling system. There work was so good I will give them another try.

We were facing the possibility of replacing an entire tiled bathroom floor to satisfy the requirements of a home inspection when selling. Fortunately, the carpenter Handyman Connection sent over was able to come up with a reasonably-priced solution that satisfied all parties involved. He removed all of the rotted wood caused by a failed wax ring, leveled the floor from the basement with a jack and custom built a brace to reinforce the repair. Replaced the subfloor and what little, very little tile needed to be replaced. Would have been a pain and a huge expense to replaces all of the tile, and everyone was pleased with this solution (buyer and seller alike). It was truly a pleasure to meet Clancy;easy to tell he's a seasoned pro with remodeling and carpentry. Note: You are required to provide your own building/repair materials and supplies, which is a plus in my book -- save $$!

Dan was the nicest, most courteous worker I've ever had at the house, as well as being extremely thorough. He explained everything to me. He was very neat and cleaned up after himself when the job was done. I'm definitely going to use Handyman Connection again.

The individual handyman sent out was on time. However, he seemed to struggle with the task. The situation was frustrating because I felt the overall job was not that complicated. I felt an experienced person would have a simple time installing the doors, plus the additional items. The contractor spent all day working. Based on my experience, I decided to delete a door from the job and not expand my scope. The experience was unsatisfactory, and I will not hire the company to do any additional work I need to complete.

Very prompt. Mike explained everything he would have to do with the column bases ahead of time. I was willing to have all the bases redone, but he did not feel that was necessary. He thought he could repair the portions, that were bad and seal the remainder to get many years out of the bases. It looks great.

Helpful and polite. I had to purchase the materials myself and had a very hard time navigating Home Depot to find what I needed because the brand names, etc, given to me weren't the same as what Home Depot stocks. Repair was well done although handyman did not budget enough time to finish the job completely.

This is a great company to work with. They were able to send someone out to replace my trim the day after I called. The woman who helped me with the initial call was very helpful & prompt at getting back to me. On the day of the service, the technician, Zach, called to let me know he was on his way, arrived on time, gave me an estimate before he started work, was very neat, & cleaned up the work area before he left. He also noticed that our front door handle was loose & he fixed this before he left. The job took approximately one hour.

THIS WAS A SUBSET OF ANGIE'S LIST. I CALLED AND DESCRIBED THE JOB, AND THEY SENT THE RIGHT WORKER. IT WAS EASY, PAIN FREE, AND HASSLE FREE, AND THEY HONORED MY COUPON. THEY DIDN'T PRICE THE JOB, JUST BELOW THE COUPON MINIMUM, SO THEY HELPED ME SAVE. COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL.

Please take them off of your list. This is the very reason I joined Angie's List, to avoid this kind of bad business practices. If they deny this, I have their estimate and the one done by a different man. The other one you suggested was Mr. Anderson, he was very nice but too busy to do it as quickly as I needed it done. Rick did a great job. He was very professional and very efficient. We are going to hire him again to do more miscellaneous work on our house.

I APPRECIATED SETTING UP APPOINTMENT WITH A PERSON RATHER THAN VOICE MAIL. THEY CALLED DAY BEFORE TO RE-CONFIRM AND JOHN CALLED DAY OF APPOINTMENT TO RE-CONFIRM AND GET DIRECTIONS. HE SHOWED ME WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. WOULD DEFINITELY CALL THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

THE COURTEOUS REPRESENTATIVE ARRIVED ON TIME AND PROVIDED A DETAILED WRITTEN ESTIMATE THAT STATED THE PROJECT COST WILL BE AS LOW AS, BUT NO MORE THAN A CERTAIN AMOUNT. WORK COULD BE DONE SAME DAY AND WAS COMPLETED TO MY SATISFACTION. MATERIALS PAID BY HOMEOWNER PURCHASED BY INSTALLER (RECEIPT PROVIDED). INSTALLER WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO PLEASE: RETURNED THE NEXT DAY TO INSTALL A DRYER PART TO CONNECT THE DRYER. JOB COST CAME IN AT LOW END OF ESTIMATE. EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH WORKMANSHIP AND THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE.
