Gutter Systems

The company profile includes an e-mail address. I sent an e-mail request about work I needed done. Eleven days later, no response whatsoever.

He and his crew did a great job. Very efficient with their time. It was the middle of winter, so the job timing was dictated by temperatures, as the shingles had to be plyable enough to move without damaging them, while removing old gutter mounts. Punctual, professional, affordable and quick.

It went very well. They were quick to give me a bid and quick to perform the work. I was very impressed with them and will use them again in the future.

I got 3 bids last week and he was the lowest one. After re-reading all the remarks about him on Angie's List I decided to hire him. I called him on Friday to tell him to go ahead with the job. He called me on Sunday evening and said he would be out at 9AM the next day. He was here about 8:30AM and his helper showed up at 9:00. They were finished by 11AM and the gutters look just great! They installed the wider downspouts with extenders. They also installed 2 diverters by the front door for no extra charge. Both of them were very professional and efficient.

It went well overall. They were friendly, and got the work done. I did some competetive shopping, and they were the least expensive for the job. I would use them again in the future.

This was the only gutter contractor I could find (I called at least 6 other contractors on the list) who would install gutters on my house (it is 125 years old and has crown molding). I had purchased a diverter online to use for my rain barrel (some contractors balk at installing owner-supplied parts) which he though was a great idea. He not only installed it, but asked for the web address of where I found the part. He also came up with a simple and good-looking way to pipe water over to the rain barrel. I give him a B+ for professionalism because his written estimate was a price on the back of his business card, which he obviously honored, but could have been a little more detailed. The price and promptness of service more than made up for it, though.

One of the few gutter companies that actually responded promptly. The price was very reasonable and the work was terrific!

Bruce Donatell was very helpful in working with me on a difficult drainage issue and came up with a workable solution. He performed all of the work punctually (in one day) and the system works just fine. He adjusted the price to lower than his original estimate as the solution to the drainage issue actually resulted in less work and materials used.

Gutter systems came and gave us an estimate. They were very reasonable and have a great gutter product. The installation went smoothly, but we had a slight problem with one of the gutters. We called Bruce and they were happy to come out and correct the problem. The gutters look great and we're very happy.

Phone rang and rang. Then wasn't answered with the company name (just a "hello?"), so I asked if this was "Gutter Systems" and after a strange pause there was a half-hearted "Yes." I explained why I was calling and what I wanted. He seemed very confused, and had a hard time understanding what I was saying or asking for. I had to explain several times. He said he could come by the next morning and take measurements and would leave an estimate. I then had to repeat my address 3 or 4 times, and although I thought he had it right. I don't think he ever showed up. I never heard from him, and never had a quote left for me.

Bruce came out right away and left his card with the estimate, but it was difficult to nail down an appointment time, because I had to schedule about a week and a half out. Then, although we'd scheduled for Tuesday morning (when someone would be home), he came Monday afternoon. When I got home I discovered that I couldn't open my front door more than halfway, because the gutter was too low and the door hit it. Bruce came back first thing the next morning and fixed it, but he didn't have the "snake" necessary to route the end of the downspout as we had discussed on the phone (he had routed it the traditional way). So then he came back, a third time, two days later to add the snake and the diffuser (which I appreciated him telling me about). Overall, the system seems to be fine now, but it was a bit too much of a hassle getting it done.

Bruce was very prompt on the phone, in coming out for an estimate, and in scheduling the work. After he finished, one of the extensions that he put on leaked. After a telephone call, he came right back to repair it with no questions and no paperwork. Like most gutter pros, he's better with gutters than he is with wood: our carpenter, here for a lot of woodwork repair, cleaned up some of Bruce's nail-down brackets.

It went well. He is very punctual and hard working. I did have to remind him to completely fix one gutter rather than just a portion of it, but he was very responsive and event took a bird's nest out for me.

Bruce was able to come and do an estimate the same day that I called him. He agreed to put gutters on the house when other companies said they would not be able to given the type of structure we have. Bruce said it would be no problem. The gutters were installed one week later and look great.

Although slightly disorganized he is very hard working and very friendly. The estimate he gave me was what I paid. The disorganization happened with picking the color and the exact date the work would be completed. I called him back to let him know we wanted him to do the work and find out when he could start. He indicated in another ten days he could start but in the mean time he would drop off some color swatches. Well we never got the color swatches and the ten days came and went. Just when I'm starting to look for someone else I get a message that he is dropping off supplies and would start work in two days. Everything worked out in the end. Glad that he was able to perform this service.

When I came home they were at my house and had 1 of the gutters put up; I was so mad and yelled at them. They gave me a discount so I decided to go ahead and use them. They then told me I needed a roofer to look at my roof, he ended up fixing it himself. Came back a couple of times to make sure everything was working properly. This company gave me a bunch of ups and downs so the grades reflect that.

Bruce did a great job. He did exactly what he promised for the price quoted. The gutters look great. Quite a bargain. He was a really nice guy, too.

As far as I know, I give them an A! It looks like they did a good job even though the roof was not level. They had the most reasonable price, were able to get the job fit in quickly, and there were no problems.

The company was knowledgeable, experienced & timely. Pricing was very competitive and up front.

Bruce responded to my urgent request for a quick estimate and fast repair of a leaky gutter, and a replacement gutter to be installed in the next week or so. He did a repair very quickly that next day, which stopped water from continuing to leak onto our front porch and front step. I had asked him to replace the gutter as soon as the weather and his schedule permitted, and he came back within two days and replaced the gutter above our front porch. He was prompt and efficient in getting the work done. Repair was $75, Replacement was $190. Price was the same as his quote.

Bruce promptly returned my call, came out and gave me an estimate, then promptly did the work for exactly the price he quoted. It looks great. Other companies either never returned my call, or never came out to give me an estimate, so Bruce stood out far and away.

The experience was good, but not stellar. Quality of the work is great but communication with Bruce, the owner and installer, was a little challenging. He is very flexible and responsive, but professionalism is a little lacking. For example, he surveyed the property while I was not at home, which is fine, but his quote was just a price written on the back of a business card and didn't stipulate details of the work to be performed. On the good side, Bruce was very flexible about coordinating his work with another contractor who was doing some stucco repair that needed to be complete before all the gutters could be installed. One reason for going with Bruce is that he is knowledgeable about connecting downspouts to rain barrels (we will use collected rainwater to water our gardens in the summer). I'd recommend him as long as you're not too picky in the "professionalism" category.

Bruce came out to look at both the garage and house and made recommendations on what would best meet our needs. He came out within a couple of weeks to do the work and did it in one day. The job was both well done and completed in a timely manner. We did have a misunderstanding as to the final cost of the project and Bruce immediately took responsibility for the misunderstanding and offered that he would accept payment in the amount which we had anticipated. He was very personable and easy to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to use him if we had a similar project in the future.

Great! He told me when he would be by for an estimate and left it for me. He came back about a week later and in 4 hours was done for exactly the same price.

I think this is just a one man business. The work took him three and a half hours to complete. His work looks great. He was a nice man to work with and I'm pleased with his service.
