Gutter Systems

Very disorganized. I left Bruce a voicemail describing that I was looking for someone to replace my 2x3" downspout with a 3x4" downspout and leaving my address. I didn't hear back. A couple of weeks later I called again and it turned out he had gone by my house and had some thoughts on the project and gave me a quote. We arranged to meet on Day X to discuss. Three days prior to Day X he called/texted me saying he was at my house and when could I meet him. (I was out of town.) He also gave a new quote that was higher than the first, for the same work. I asked about the discrepancy. He replied that the price had changed following inspection of the site. I reminded him that he had already done a site inspection before giving me the original quote, and then heard nothing for a few days. I mentally crossed this one off my list but after a few days he called and wanted to set a new time to discuss, and we agreed on 9am a couple of days later. The day before that meeting he texted me to see if there was an exterior outlet for his crew to use, and said they'd be arriving at 8am that day. Yep, he had the crew arriving before our meeting when we would decide whether/how to move forward. Do not recommend.

Perfectly. Bruce was great to work with. He was timely with all communications and made sure ever installation detail was reviewed and understood. The results were spot on.

Initially, Bruce thought he might be able to get me in his schedule in 3 weeks, but ended up being able to fit me in within a week! He was prompt and efficient. The work was reasonably priced and done well.

Second time we've used Bruce, he's great. Very responsive, came quickly and did a great job installing the gutters.

Bruce is the most responsive contractor I've ever worked with. I was especially impressed as this was a small job that needed to be done in the next week, but he worked it into his schedule. He answered my phone message while he was on vacation and made arrangements to come out and see the site on the day he got back, which was a Sunday. He texted me the day before the work was to be done and again when he was on his way. He arrived at the agreed-upon time and quickly completed the job, which looks great. Two days later, we had heavy rain and the downspouts worked fine, but I realized I hadn't asked for a long enough extension on one of them--we were getting water running back down our negative slope toward a window well. I texted Bruce and an hour later he showed up with a really long extension and put it on. I paid him an additional $50 for that.

This is the second time I've engaged Gutter Systems. The first was to complete repairs following a storm, the second was to clean, complete maintenance and install covers. Gutter Systems is easy to work with -- professional, reasonably priced and responsive to communications. I've already recommended Gutter Systems to a colleague.

Went well. Everything went as expected and prices were competitive. Job done on time and done well.

Bruce apparently visited my home twice to review the project, I work from home and for an unknown reason he didn't meet me as I requested. He gave an estimate for the project. When he arrived to complete the repair, he decided I needed new gutters all around, and gave me an estimate for that. I asked about the rain diverter I requested, and so he put up a piece of plastic on the gutter, and charged me $50. I'm having to continue the process of getting a proper repair to the gutter, and I'm out $50. I don't doubt that Bruce has a good product to offer, but his communication skills are lacking and in this case, my repair is really sub-par.

Bruce and his team were on time, friendly and carried out the job very fast and efficiently. Bruce is great at what he does, does it well, and does it for much less then other gutter companies.

Gutter removal and installation was fast, efficient, and high quality. Job was done in less than 2 hours by three friendly workers including Bruce Donatell, the owner. Very punctual on day of service, very professional, very skilled work! We are extremely happy to have found Bruce and his service.

He arrived early on the day he did the work and took it in stride when I asked him to modify our original plan by rerouting one of the gutters to drain below the boulder wall, instead of above it. He also had to deal with adverse working conditions, because the deck was torn up below where he needed to work, but he didn't complain. He was professional and completed the work within several hours. After rain a few days later, we noticed that one of the caulked gutters was still leaking a little, and texted him a picture, asking him to fix it. He did so with no complaints three or four days later, and it hasn't leaked since. We are very satisfied and would definitely hire him again, as well as recommend him without reservations.

They did a great job overall. He quoted it quickly, stuck to his quote and explained the overages that we agreed to thoroughly. Most impressively when a neighbor complained about a downspout being too close to the property line Bruce answered my email immediately and fixed it the very next day. I highly recommend working with Bruce, he did great work especially for the price.

I wanted to get someone to look at the gutters on a rental home I own. Bruce got to the place, looked it over, and gave me a quote in a short amount of time. I decided to go with Gutter Systems because Bruce was the one who was prompt in getting back to me the couple times I contact him. We lined up a time to meet and he was there on time. We did a walk around and he told me what he recommended in both color and changes to the location of the downspouts. He said he would get to it the following week which he did. The crew got it done in one day and cleaned up the site. Two minor issues that my renter reported when she returned from work the day they installed the gutters were these: the gates to the property were left open and an internet cable had been knocked down and was on the ground. I called Bruce and he returned promptly in a day or two and took care of the cable. I feel Bruce worked to do a quality job and was responsive to me.

Bruce did a superb job. First of all, he replied swiftly to our request for a quote and suggested solutions which were very reasonable for our complex situation. The overall system worked perfectly, Any time we had a question, he would always call back. Recently I asked him to move a downspout and he came on a Sunday to do it. This is old-fashioned service that we do not see often these days. Kudos to him.

The workman was prompt, efficient and did a perfect job. The charge was lower than any other estimate I had received, and it was given unhesitatingly over the phone.

The effectiveness of the new product is yet to be seen, but we were offered another 5 year warranty. Bruce's willingness to work with us on a fix goes a long way and we would gladly recommend him to other homeowners.

Bruce Donatell maintained good communication throughout the entire process. He called the night before he was coming to confirm the appointment and tell me what time they would arrive. Bruce and his crew arrived slightly early. They got right to work on the project and quickly completed the work. My brother-in-law was at the house, so he inspected the work. He told me that everything looked great. The slope of the gutters was set so there would be good drainage. They cleaned up after themselves and were on their way. Successful installation!!

He was the only gutter company to contact me in less than 2 days, the other took almost a week. He showed up on time for the estimate, was very informative and listened. The installation was right on time, with focus on the work to be done. I would recommend Gutter Systems!

In the Fall of 2008 Bruce installed our gutters with covers for $1575. He told us his work was warrantied. Four weeks ago we contacted Bruce to look at the gutters because of frequent jams over the front door. He told us he would try to see us the next day----we haven't seen or spoken to him since---even after we left a message on his recorder two weeks ago. After looking at the gutter covers ourselves we discovered that he had not installed them the full length of the gutter. There is a large gap where the gutters meet over our front door---it was filled with debri. This is not what we paid for!!! Very unprofessional and absolutely no follow up.

Gutters Systems is owned and operated by Bruce Donatell. We first found him on Angie's List and previously had hired him to re-do gutters at our house, our son's house and our daughter's house. I am strongly in favor of using owner-opertors for these kinds of services because the owner-operator has a much greater incentive to satisfy his customers than do the hourly workers hired by the larger firms. Every time we have used Bruce, we have had an A+ experience. So, this time, after learning that we had overlooked a gutter on the rear side of the garage at my daughter's recently purchased home - a house where Bruce had already installed all new gutters - we contacted Bruce. The neighbor pointed out that the downspout on that gutter was discharging water onto his property. So, I asked Bruce if he cold work this small job into his schedule. Within a day, he was on the site and installing a new gutter, leaf blocker and re-directing the discharge from the downspout. Again, an A+ job. Bruce is not just highly competent in this trade in terms of know-how, but we find him to be totally reliable, trustworthy and fair.

Great. Came out the next day and did the work in just a couple house. Great job!

Our gutters overall are in good shape but one gutter downspout on our home was in a bad location where there was not enough space for the water to flow away from the foundation. I hired gutter systems to correct this issue. Bruce was very responsive and communicated well throughout. Other companies that I spoke to were uninterested in a small job and apparently would only want to bid for replacing all the gutters, which was completely unnecessary. Bruce's solution was similar to what I was thinking, which was to seal off the downspout at the roof level and re-pitch the gutter to direct water to a different downspout. So I hired him and after a couple of rainy days this seems to have worked well to get the water flowing away from the foundation. If I do need more gutter work done in the future my first call will be to Gutter Systems.

Work went fine. Pleased with it so far.
