Gutter Systems

Estimate was wriiten up on letterhead for another company name, BD Construction, but located at the same address with the same phone (cell). It did not list the type or size of the gutters that would be installed. It did not include any licensing information. Angie's list says this company is licensed and it meets the honor roll. The better business bureau gives this company a C-, not a very reliable rating in my view, for a company that's been around awhile. FYI: the phone number of the company gets you info from the Better Business Bureau, not the Angie's List name.

Bruce answered my call and said he was in my neighborhood. He came here in about 20 minutes to look at my situation. He couldn't come up with a solution, again due to the topography and tight quarters around the garage. In the end, he suggested that I install a dry well, an idea that I had been considering. He gave me some advice about constructing the well. He said my existing gutters would suffice with a new dry well.

Bruce replaced a very high-up gutter and downspout that were very old and had holes and were plugged. It all went well as I expected. Bruce is very reliable and competent and experienced.

Service went very well. He was flexible in allowing me to paint the eaves after removing old gutters. Came on time, finished in a couple hours with new gutters, with a high quality result.

Very well. Bruce answered the initial and subsequent phone calls right away. He was prompt in scheduling and arriving at appointed times. He listened to what I wanted, assessed the problem and recommended a fix in a timely fashion. Bruce's manner of speaking is clear, concise, respectful and engaging. He seemed to have a good grasp of his business. Technically, the job was done well and looks good. The price for labor and materials was as estimated, a real bargain.

Owner-operator Bruce Donatell was a breeze to work with. He did'nt mince words, communicated effectively and directly, and brought me (an utter novice and "know nothing") into his analysis on a real-time basis. I followed easily the alternative repair steps he was considering and agreed easily to the solution he finally proposed. I will hire him again without hesitation.

I expected the job to cost more than it did, just buying materials at a home center for this job was going to cost about $80, so the price seemed pretty amazing to me. He also had no problem with the fact that the job was very small. When I called he told me he was free late the following week and that he would call. He called the next Wednesday as promised and came right over and did the job very quickly. It was an exceptional experience from beginning to end and I heartily recommend this company.

I simply needed a new gutter installed on the roof of my front porch. I called Bruce and he was able to quote me a price for the project over the phone. He let me know that he would be able to complete the work by the end of the week. He came out two days later and the project was complete in less than two hours. The gutter looks great and he honored his very reasonable bid. Bruce made this project very easy for me to take care of - thanks Bruce!

Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend them. They also worked in the bitter cold. My only reservation was the fact that some of the materials do not perfectly match; they're close in color, but not an exact match.

- We called and did not return the call for sometime - Several appointments that we made, he did not come with reason, he was too busy - When he finally came, he came too early. - He did an ok job because I end up tidying up the project myself. - But he is really cheap. Nobody can beat that.

I had a downspout that was plugged in two short sections. One section had a ruptured seam and a hole. I looked on Angie's list and chose Gutter Systems. Bruce came out and measured, then ordered, the proper pieces in my color. He then came out and quickly replaced both sections. He did a very good job.

Bruce has the best price around. He does good work. We will see how it performs, more to come after it rains and snows....

Bruce was GREAT!!! He was incredibly quick to respond when I called him, and was able to get my gutters done quickly, as well. I had gotten 3 different bids, but I really felt like Bruce knew his stuff and felt comfortable with him. He did a A+, perfect job! Their pricing was very reasonable when compared to other quotes that I had got. They were professional, responsive, punctual, and they did an excellent job.

I called for an estimate and got a call on my cell on Saturday morning from Bruce saying he was at my house but no one was answering the doorbell. I explained that no one was at home, but if he had called I could have been there. He told me that he had left a business card with a price on the back including a cover. When I told him I wasn't interested in the cover, he revised the price verbally. Since there were no details and no written proposal, even though the price was significantly lower than others, I went with another company, not knowing what he was quoting - removal of old gutters? repair of fascia? quality of gutters, etc.

He was knowledgeable, thorough, and his price was reasonable. He treated me really well as a person and was very professional.

They were very efficient totally cleaned up after the work wss done. I was very pleased.

Bruce was a little bit messy (lots of metal pieces and old gutter dirt left in the yard when he was done, some gutter dirt on the side of the house) but the work appears to be done well and he was ~$500 lower than the other bids we received. Would definately consider Bruce for future work!

Very, very easy and convenient. I never have even met him face to face -- all email, phone or house calls while I was away. Used email on Saturday, 5/30 to contact Bruce, he replied by phone by Tuesday of the next week. We discussed what we wanted but wasn't sure about a color match. Bruce offered to come look at our trim color and then we would decide. He determined he could not do a good match but could drop off the fabricated gutters & parts for us to paint with our color. It was a reasonable solution based upon the job size (~30 ft. total) and importance for a match. The timing worked well for this as he was leaving on vacation the following week, allowing us plenty of time to paint. I phoned Bruce back on 6/15 that we were ready for installation, and the work was completed the next day. They even squeezed us in on a day that had rain in the forecast which was appreciated. I came home to see the gutters in full use which was nice. The only downfall was my delayed payment to Bruce because I was caught without check blanks to mail to him - I was unprepared but soon made good on the deal!

Bruce came out, gave an estimate, and got the job done in only a couple of days. Worked quickly, efficiently and was $200 cheaper than the other bids I received. No fluff, just gutters.

We had gotten bids from others that were much higher than our insurance coverage would provide for. Once we accepted the bid, he was out in about a week. The work was finished the same day and we have not had any problems (don't expect any either).

Bruce came to look at the work needed within a day and gave a price on the spot. We were most impressed that he immediately saw a way to improve the appearance and function of our gutter system by moving one downspout to the other side of the entrance. Two other vendors looked at the job and only offered to duplicate what was there. One vendor would not work on houses as high as ours. By phone, we learned that another did not have the equipment to install the larger gutters (which, by the way, are great for eliminating the need to have the gutters cleaned out.)
