DISASTROUS! They apparently don't care that they're doing damage to the yard, vehicle, or structures. Non-English speaking crew even had damage pointed out by property owners and police, they still don't care. Continue to mow wrong property and blow leaves and clippings into our yard. Very intentional.
Description of Work: No work done here, but at next door neighbor. The crew keeps coming into our yard, even after repeated attempts to get them to stop. Non-English speaking crew. Police officer even told them to stay on the other property. Gouging grass and spinning tires on our lawn. Running over yard markers and launching them into side of our vehicle 50 feet away. Then blowing neighbor's clipping onto our property, pine cones, leaves, grass, sticks and any garbage on ground.

All services were performed. They indicated they would apply the grub control and seeding in ten days. They came out 3 days later and aerated and seeded. When I got home, I wasn't sure if they had also applied the grub control and couldn't get ahold of anyone to ask. So, I spent the entire holiday weekend keeping the kids off the grass, because I didn't know. They came out 14 days later and applied the grub control. Apparently, there was a high volume of grub control requests, even though they said that they typically do grub control in the spring. The grub control was really my priority and that was the piece that was delayed. I also felt that they did not provide clear communication.

I ordered 3 yards of Western Red Cedar mulch at $83.99/yd. plus $90 delivery fee (delivery+install) to refresh our flower beds. Green Horizen came and poured all 3 yds on only two small area. After I complained, Josh talked me into purchasing another 3 yds to cover the rest of our yard. He agreed to eliminate the $90 delivery fee, because delivery fee will be waived if anyone orders a total of 6 yds. They then poured the additional 3 yds on one of the areas. This does not cover all my flower beds. The next thing I know is that Green Horizon over-charged my bank a total of $637.15. They are totally not professional, overcharging me and without my authorization. I called them to have Chris, the owner, to stop by and discuss. However, he has not shown up yet. In the meantime, my bank did an investigation and determined in my favor.

I'm less than impressed with the customer service at the Green Horizons office. I chose to prepay for their services this summer using a bank account for the ease of it and the additional discount offered as an incentive. I then got charged by mistake via my bank account for the Spring Cleaning service after it was pre-paid. 4 days later I called to ask for a refund and was offered the option to make it a credit or get a refund check. I asked if the credit would include a prepayment discount and when the answer was no, I decided to have a check mailed. I expected the check to arrive on the mail a few days later. Today, 2 weeks later I called back to find out about my check and was told that the check was to be printed later this week and that it would be to me next week. That is a total of 4 weeks after the money was taken. When I complaint about this, I was told that there is a 30 day period to issue checks and that the check would be printed today and to me by the end of the week. I was very unhappy about this interaction because while an apology was issued it was not sincere and at no time the customer rep or the office manager made any efforts to make this situation better. First of all, I should have been told when I called 2 weeks ago about the 30 day period and was not. Second, I understand a 30-day check policy for vendors but as a customer I should not be made to wait to get my money back after a mistake was made from their part. Third, any good customer service would have offered either a discount or a free service to remedy the situation but when I asked today how they would make it up to me, I got a simple response: "We don't need to make it up to you". That answer comes from a lack of understanding where their revenue comes from. I have already pre-paid for services this summer and will stick with them for the rest of the season but my business is going somewhere as of the end of the summer. Green Horizons lack of empathy for paying customers is the reason I will not do business with these people anymore. I will advise anyone to do the same and remind these people who pays their bills, us the customers.

Two men came out to do the work. One was apparently a new employee and one was a more senior employee. The newer man was small in stature and could barely maneuver the machine they used to do the clean up (it looked like a riding lawnmower). The more senior employee was on his phone for 10 minutes or so while he had the newer one run the machine. The smaller man had trouble with the machine and ran over one of my solar lights and about two feet of rubber edging around the landscaping. When the other guy heard the noise he came over to see what had happened. Both men tried to hide/get rid of the broken solar light. They picked up the glass and other pieces of the solar light and threw them in the wooded area behind the house. I'm not sure if the smaller man ran over and cut the cables to the television, phone and internet before or after he ran over the solar light and edging. My mother went to turn on the t.v. and found that the service was disrupted. A short while later she went to use the phone and found there was no tone at all. I then tried to go online and found that was also not working. I was very angry and called the company office to let them know what had happened. I was told that the two employees would be talked to and if I wanted the company would reimburse me for the broken light. They would not accept any responsibility for cutting the cables and leaving us without phone, t.v. and internet for several days. The person I spoke with said that was Comcast's fault for not making sure the cables were buried. He told me I would need to speak with Comcast and have them come out to take care of it. I am very dissatisfied with the service they provided and lack of professionalism displayed by all. I will never use Green Horizons again.

They are very expensive and their service is incredibly bad. No weekend coverage. Plus, the only way they communicate is via email. It is extremely problematic when there?s a problem and no one from their office will call to discuss the problem. We received an email response every few hours. They even have their phone systems locked-down so that you cannot get through to anyone. It is really terrible! They also trick you on their pricing. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS ? YOU WILL REGRET IT! Chris Beutz (the owner) has sneaky contract tactics, plays games, and is dishonest very low integrity!

Assured many times that this would never happen again. The neighbors are fed up with their antics.

The crew they sent out was inexperienced/lacked common sense. They used a pointed wooden stake (which they left in my yard) to chip ice out of the gutters. I had not contracted for a specific day...they should have come back another day. Both gutters were damaged...dents/creases all the way down both gutters and in one spot a hole the size of a quarter. Crew did not report this; was discovered 7 days later shoveling snow...water was pouring out through the hole onto the house and pooling on the sidewalk. Customer service offered a simple apology, but did not explain why they are sending out such an inexperienced/incompetent crews. I wonder how many other gutters were damaged on this date and still have not been discovered. All of the gutter companies I talked to indicated this work should have been done on another day. Patch was needed immediately while waiting for the gutter replacement to be schedule (which ended up being 1/9/16). There was one Saturday the first weekend in December where the temperatures were warm enough; large amounts of rain predicted the following week. I ended up having to do the work myself...2 hours on a Saturday putting a patch in. They did pay to have the gutters replaced, but will not pay me for the time I spent patching the gutters. Based on the email thread, if I had contracted to have the patch done they would have paid for the work. Saying they would only may me for the materials which are trivial is insulting. This is where their Customer Service falls flat. My time is valuable. The amount of time spent addressing the issue they caused went beyond the time it took to do a patch. I would not hire this company again as they are hiring inexperienced crews, questionable ethics and their customer service is not respectful of people's time. It is also concerning that the crew did not report the damage they had done to my house...there is no way they were unaware of the damage they caused to my property.

Very disappointed. Snow on Christmas night was not removed until nearly 9:00pm on the 26th. Very sloppy job as snow was already quite frozen. You might consider hiring some help if you are not able to provide service in a timely manner. Will only use in the future if service improves.

Provider does not clean off snow to pavement and leaves a layer of ice on sloped driveway. This makes a dangerous situation for falls. Provider has not come for at least 28 hours since snow ended yesterday...the only significant snow of the month. There is no after hours number on the service line. They seem reliable on their lawn service that I have used for many years. Staff who cut the grass are nice people. They not infrequently leave off downspouts when they mow grass.

I was not happy. Their cost depends on whether you take it per time or for the season. I know that they are a little pricier and I don't think they are worth it. It also goes per inch or something so I think the least that they charge me is $32 for coming out once. Then, if there is more snow then they charge more. It is not a straight black and white plan; you have options. They do not coordinate well with the city. They will come in and do the driveway. The city will come in an hour later and shove everything back into the driveway and then they will come back, maybe, the next day. Sometimes I could not even get into my driveway because it was so backed up and they didn't come back. I remember looking them up on Angie's List and they got a lot of B's and some D's. The only one good thing about them is they will come for half-an-inch and none of the other companies will do that. The only reason I used them was because I did not want my mother to walk out on anything more than one-half inch. Some of the guys were really good. They like everything by computer or text or something. I want to talk to a real person. If their office is closed and you are blocked out of your driveway there is nobody to talk to about it unless you want to text them. They said why didn't I send them an email? Well, my computer was in the house and I could not get to it. I would not recommend this company.

Fantastic experience with this company! I emailed after reading their website, which listed weeding without chemicals as a service. Within a day, I had a contract set up and all my questions answered. I was able to provide custom work instruction (i.e., "please don't pull this particular plant"). They came when they said they would, and I can't say enough about the quality of work. Our gardens (and more!) are weed free and the shrubs all look perfect. They didn't pull the plants we asked them not to and weeded more areas that we expected. I would absolutely contract with them again and highly recommend their services.

The provider only did half the job. I contracted for a fertilization service with some weed control. I have had this service performed many times before. On the work request I noted that there was some creeping Charlie in my back yard that I wanted some attention paid to. Upon arrival the technician decided to do a full weed control spray of the whole yard and did not perform the fertilization service even thought the weeds were limited to a very small area. I called two times to have the fertilization performed and was promised both times it would be performed shortly. The service was never completed as ordered. I finally called again today and was told by the representative Chris that the technician determines what was best for the lawn even though this was not what I ordered and that is that Another fertilization was due today which I cancelled. I am surprised as I have had a good relationship with Green Horizons until now. I have used them for lawn repair, gutter cleaning and sprinkler blow outs and have never had a problem. On the few times things have not been done to my satisfaction they have been corrected until now. Their customer service rep Chris did not seem to care if I were a good customer or not.

I called in the fall for snow removal and contracted with Green Horizons. I thought their prices were reasonable and thought it would be perfect since I was having health problems and needed someone to do snow removal for my home. The first time that they came was while I was at work. I emailed Green Horizons the next day and reminded them that they were to do the sidewalk on the side of my house and the sidewalk from my house to my garage. Someone came and completed the work. I emailed them and reminded them that someone was supposed to swing back by after the snowplow went through my alley and clear out my garage space and my front sidewalk near the street. Someone emailed me back and said they had stopped doing it three years ago. I said it was in my contract and I was told that I must have accidentally been sent an old contract and they asked me to send a copy of it to them. They thanked me for the copy of the contract and restated that they no longer do the follow up snow removal even though it was in the contract that they sent to me. In general, I must have been one of the very last houses to have snow removal because there were young men that came late at night, around 10-11 PM, and they would shovel by hand. Because I live in Minneapolis our houses are close together and the men laughing and horsing around would wake up my neighbors, who had girls that needed to be in school at 7:30 AM. The front of my house always seemed to be done well, but the back sidewalk wasn't done nearly as well. The gates to the yard were left open at least 5 times, even after I emailed them a couple of times that I have a dog and the gates need to be closed when they leave. They knocked off the corner pieces on my garage by the alley. I tried hard to assume that it was an accident, even though I have lived in the house for over 15 years and done the shoveling myself and it has never happened to me. I found the corner pieces in the snowbank in the alley when spring came. But then, it happened a second time and I knew it wasn't an accident. I looked all over the yard and in the trash trying to figure out where they threw the pieces but couldn't find them. Finally I decided to look in my recycling bin and that it where they threw them. If I hadn't found them, the recyclers would have taken them and my garage would be permanently missing the bottom corner pieces. I sent an email to Green Horizons because I was beyond furious. Someone from customer service called me at work and said and quot;I'm sorryand quot; and that was it. He would talk to the young men and make sure it didn't happen again. I explained that it had already happened twice. I also explained that the problem would resolve itself because I would not be using their company for snow removal next year. I felt like I got the reject crew and they had no control over the work the young men did. I did not get the feeling that they needed or wanted to keep my business and I didn't feel that their apology was sincere. They did offer to send someone out to put the corner pieces back on if I needed them to, but that was the least of my worries at this point. I would not recommend this company to others. I feel that the people who did my snow removal for the most part were not professional and didn't respect my property. I didn't feel that customer service was interested in keeping my business.

We have lived in our home for 14 years. Every fall we had our gutters cleaned by the same individual. In the Spring of 2013, this individual retired. Accordingly, when it was time to have the gutters cleaned in the fall, we searched for a new service provider. Unfortunately, we were not members of Angie's List at the time and we based our decision to hire Green Horizons strictly on price. On November 15, 2013, Green Horizons and quot;cleanedand quot; our gutters. We did not realize how poorly Green Horizons performed the job until last week (June 16th through June 19th, 2014) when Minnesota was hit with a significant amount of rain. As the water cascaded over the gutters and onto the ground, we started to realize that our gutters must be full of debris. On Thursday morning, by chance, we discovered that ground water had seeped through our foundation and flooded our basement. The service provider that came to help us with our basement told us that the problem was with our gutters. In 14 years, we have only cleaned our gutters in the fall, never in the Spring, and never had a ground water problem. We contacted Green Horizons and told them about our problem. The Manager refused to talk with us by phone, but via e-mail, he indicated that it was not their problem and they would not come out and look at the gutters. However, they would be available to clean our gutters at full price in about a week or two. As I read through the other reviews for Green Horizons, I realize what a valuable service Angie's List provides to consumers. After reading the reviews, it looks like Green Horizons motto should be and quot; The Service Provider is always right.and quot; Suffice it to say that we had a horrible experience with Green Horizons and would never use their services again.

We had several neighbors and friends recommend Green Horizons for snow removal...each and every household that were happy with them over the years, and recommended them to us, have fired them this year. I spoke to Chris Beutz, the owner of Green Horizons, in late summer of 2013 and hired Green Horizons for seasonal snow removal starting October, 2013 and for seasonal fertilization beginning in May of 2014. The first invoice I received on October 21, 2013 showed a charge for a fertilization application on 10/21/13...when I called Chris Beutz and told him that service was not to start until 2014, that charge was removed. However, that mix-up was a harbinger of things to come. The first snow storm came on a weekend and Green Horizons didn't show up and, as I quickly learned, their and quot;Customer Service Departmentand quot; does not work weekends!! When I finally reached them on Monday, I was told that I was on the area route, but they must have gone to the wrong house. The second and third snow storms, we were out of town and were unaware that they did not show up until a neighbor called us long distance. When I got a hold of and quot;Customer Serviceand quot; I was told they would send someone out...but, no apology. When they finally came, the snow had frozen, so they threw Ice Melt all over our new brick walk...again, our neighbors called us long distance to tell us of the mess. When I finally reached Chris Beutz at home (I looked up his number), he admitted that he remembered that I had told him NO ICE MELT or sand on our new walk...he said he would send someone out to try to remove the salt...again, no apology. This spring, we have huge patches of dead grass from the Ice Melt and we are still waiting waiting to see if there is any damage to the brick. Throughout the winter, it was hit or miss with their snow removal, to the extent that at one point, the City of Minneapolis sent a letter threatening a fine if our sidewalk wasn't cleared in front of our house. One time, with no apology, they told us that the high winds must have blown back over our and quot;shoveledand quot; walk even though the snow was 6-8and quot; deep and was obviously not shoveled. Our neighbor on one side, an attorney for Dorsey, was so frustrated that he offered to sue them without charging us. We always paid their invoices in a timely matter but we never got the services we contracted for...I would not use Green Horizons again nor would I recommend them.

Update - not sure what difference it would make that a company is based out of Minnesota or California. We are the USA, aren't we? So, Green Horizons continues their reliable, competent service beginning the new season with a minor re-seeding of the edges of the lawn nearest to the driveway. The seed has all flourished, despite the rains of any normal spring. The weekly mowing is done timely and professionally. I have been a customer since 2010 and not pleased very easy. Green Horizons meets my customer service level each and every visit. Whether its snow or grass, the job gets done right. Five Star Rating for Green Horizons.

When I called I was told they couldn't quote the scrubs because if theu quoted today if I called a month from now the scrubs would have grown. I always thought a estimated was good for only a set peroid anyway.
Description of Work: gave an estimate on lawn mowing and trimming of scrubs.

First they never performed fall clean up. Not once during this last winter did they plow my driveway down to the concrete. For the entire winter I had a layer of ice on the driveway and 1 to 2 inches of packed snow. Come spring they emailed me three times on separate dates that they were coming that day to perform spring clean up. The three dates came and went with no clean up. The fourth email was to inform me that they were coming to do the first weekly mowing. Only after a strongly worded email did they come first and do the spring clean up. Next, on the second weekly mowing I witnessed an employee repeatedly ram with force one of my fence's gate posts with a mower that could easily fit through the gate, until he split a dog eared board and pulled the upper and lower railings holding a panel of boards off the end posts. Not only is the fence now unstable but the gate drags on the walk. They left leaving the gate, that is closed at all times, wide open. I emailed Green Horizon about this and have heard nothing. Today the same team showed up and when I confronted them with the damage they had done and that I had witnessed they told me to call their boss and laughed. Enough is enough. They are fired.
Description of Work: I contracted with Green Horizon for fall clean up, deluxe snow plow service, spring clean up and weekly mowing.

I called Green Horizons and their voicemail message said I should email instead of leaving a message and provided an email address. I emailed them my request for an estimate. They responded the next day (April 23) and directed me to their website where I could submit a form requesting an estimate which I did immediately. The form indicated I would receive an estimate by email in three days and by postal mail in five. On May 10 I still hadn't received an estimate, by email or by postal mail, so I followed up by email, using our original message string, to inquire about the estimate. I never heard back.
Description of Work: I contacted Green Horizons for an estimate on weeding gardens.
