Description of Work: I took my 40 year old Singer machine into Gratz because my stitch length control was not working. The technician immediately took it to his work bench to begin evaluating my problem. He replaced the rubber feed dogs and made some adjustments. He also explained that the electronics were probably deteriorating and replacement parts are no longer available. The test stitching sample he made after making adjustments were a significant improvement. He charged $10. I was very impressed that he did everything he could to get my machine to work better while I waited and for such a reasonable price. When I got home, I was able to complete my sewing project without any difficulty. Very Impressive!!

+ -1 moreMy interaction with Gratz Sewing Company was really good. They fixed the problem. They were fast. They were thorough and I have not had a problem with it since. I actually had an A-rated Angie’s List company work on the machine a long time ago. It only had worked for a week then. I had to put up with the crappy machine for years since then until I found Gratz Sewing Company. I think pretty highly of them. I would give them high marks in everything. It’s a PSASF machine and they don’t usually work on that type of machine but they did a good job. I’m impressed.
Description of Work: Gratz Sewing repaired my sewing machine in November.

+ -1 moreI took my machine in without an appointment; the gentleman finished up with a customer. He listened to my sewing machine problem and proceeded to take the machine back to his workshop. Both gentlemen in the store were kind, friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. I still can not use the thread that I want for the stitch but at least the stitch works. It may be because the thread that I want to use just cannot be used with my machine. When I am ready to buy a quilting machine; I will go to this shop first. I was surprised at the price that he charged me; I was expecting to pay much more than five dollars.
Description of Work: I own a Viking Lily 555 sewing machine. I took my sewing machine in because I could not get the "hand quilting look stitch" feature to work on my machine. I changed the pressure foot settings and the tension but I could not get the stitch to work on the machine.

+ -1 moreI was so impressed with this shop. They're very unassuming, very unofficial and honest. The clerk who fixed my machine was the nicest guy and dropped what he was doing to help me out. The wall in the store is covered in thank-you notes and I know why. This shop is the real deal! I only wished they fixed cars too. I guess the only downside is that they're hard to reach by phone, but they do return phone calls within about 24 hours.
Description of Work: I broke the presser foot by driving over a snap. (No, there was no alcohol involved, I'm just not that good of a seamstress.) I broke the thing off, brought it in and they fixed it on the spot for six bucks.
